300 Miles In The New Audi A3 Saloon | How Comfy Is It?

- Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. A few weeks ago I tested the new Audi A3 Saloon and whilst I had it I went to Coventry to drive the new Citron C4 and e-C4. Bearing in mind that's a 300 mile round trip, I thought I'd see how comfortable the A3 Saloon is on a longer distance whether it could be a viable replacement for the larger, more expensive A4.
The model on show is the S Line, which is one up from the base model Sport, offering standard features such as 18" alloys, LED lights, S Line styling, S Line Suspension, keyless start, 10.1" touchscreen, 10.25" Audi Virtual Cockpit plus more. It would normally start from £27,165, although the car shown in this video is £31,010 thanks to a more powerful engine, the S Tronic gearbox as well as a few options.
The engine powering this version is the four cylinder, turbocharged 1.5 litre petrol offering 150hp along with 250Nm of torque. 0-62 comes in 8.4 seconds, and the top speed is 144mph. This engine will offer up to 47.9mpg on a combined run and it emits 134g/km of CO2 emissions.

Mine with sport suspension, 17" wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 drives like a dream. Zero road noise, suspension is sport yet extremely well balanced.
Useful vid. In regards to styling on the wheel arches which look almost swollen, I just wonder how the next RS3 would look.
I have the hatch batch sport version and I am in love, had previously a class Mercedes Amg line

Hard suspension and UK roads😂. Should come with free chiropractor sessions! Otherwise a very nicely styled and fuel efficient compact saloon. The MMI system probably needs a software update. Great review Aaron!

Fuel efficient? My 2021 A3 saloon is averaging about 27mpg. Mines the 35 tfsi. S-tronic gearbox.
@@adamhuws7874 you aint driving it very well possibly? I am long term average 44.3mpg on mixed driving. Have same engine/gearbox combo
I'm afraid that after 2350 miles mine is going, can't stand any more of the bang-crash-thud over all the bumps and rutts, far too hard. The road/tyre noise is totally unacceptable in my view as well..
@@mikechunter1099 So, this evening I went out for a good 20 mile run out in the car mixed roads. I put it in Sport mode and used the paddle shifts and i achieved 39.4 mpg. Vast improvement. This is my first car, and I still haven’t passed my test so I’m just getting used to it. I can’t wait til I can drive on my own without needing someone with me.

@@CarObsession For the money it's a bit of a rip off. Although, to be fair if your getting anything from the VWA just get a year old demonstrator.
I agree,just getting rid of mine after 6months, they still can't sort the software glitches out, far too hard on the suspension and the tyre/road noise in unacceptable for this price and market position in my view. Not up to scratch at all and not even close to the quality of interior found on the previous A3.
