    I would imagine that the clutching on these are similar with snowmobiles.... With just a few minor tweaks in the Primary and secondary clutching with Helixes, pucks/weights, Springs, new belt, 2 tooth drop in chaincase sprocket, ect & it would be a whole new beast !!!!! It's what we did with our race sleds....

    Nice video and great UTV. If you ride with your dog, please protect your dog- one quick stop or bump could result in a lifelong injury. Either a high quality crate or quality harness and goggles are very necessary for rocks. FYI, another poster successfully fixed the door issue with a simple hack. Soft foam tape. Thin foam on one side, adhesive tape on the other side. It was about 3" wide. He cut it and wrapped it around that seam- worked like a charm...very simple, quick and inexpensive fix.

      Awesome. Thanks for the tip! I will have to try that. Thanks for the view...As far as our little Winnie dog, you can’t see it in the video, but his hind legs and butt is in a small harness attached to my wife’s wrist. He loves going with us.

    • @MOAB-UT
      @MOAB-UT 3 года назад

      @@47rhorvath I have researched this topic a lot lately for our little guy. Harnesses are generally not recommended for small dogs under ~18lbs. (for various legit reasons.) Also, with only a collar, light weight restraints, not full harness, it might do more harm than good. It will also give you a false sense of security. Think of it this way, would you drive with a seat belt on around your neck? Also, many impacts are from the side. In such a scenario, he would spin around and his neck could try to stop his body and cause all kinds of cervical and spinal issues- a terrible scenario. For a UTV, a small, crash test approved crate (there are not many and they are pricey) that is padded, and well secured (up/down and sideways), located on the passengers side floor is very likely the safest option. Watch this video to see what I mean and to get a better understanding. ruclips.net/video/jWHvx6wL0oQ/видео.html An accident, even if minor in a UTV is inevitable- it will happen and it could easily have long lasting effects on your dog. You do not want to have regrets like this family does. ruclips.net/video/Tw79MN5UdTI/видео.html I hope you take my note in the caring spirit in which it is intended and take it to heart and bottom line- protect your dog. He deserves it. While you are at it, pick yourself and passenger up a nice set of 6 point harnesses.

The way this thing runs at such high RPM's,, is that something I am going to get used to? I see articles online about people pulling their primary clutch spring to lessen the noise and lower the high RPM's especially during the cruising speeds,, (20-50 mph)... is that something you did also? or do you recommend?? Thx for the video... I am a KRX rider in northern NM, I primarily ride in the Carson National Forrest as there is well over 500 miles of "KRX" wide trials and another 700 of "just wide enough trials" through out Taos County. I love the many accessible peaks at ±10,000 feet within 20 miles of each other.
    My question is if you jave done any playing around with the Fox tunning ("clicks")? And if you have found that perfect setting for front and back? I currently have mine on the stock settings which I love, but am interested to know if I can get an even plusher ride, being that i don't ride faster than 30 mph on the mountain trails i might even take of my sway bar which guarantees me more travel and better ride.
    Have you noticed any sagging after 3000 miles? I currently have 1200 on mine and I am still sitting at 16.5 inches of clearance on the stock rims and tires. Speaking of, what brand and size are you running? I like the tread pattern and the over look and stance, very nice👍.
    Thx again for the videos and all the info you provide, keep up the great work!

Some sagging, had my dealer adjust the shock hight to compensate. I want to order the new shock and spring package from shock therapy, however they are on back order. Tires are Gladiator X-Comp 32inch 10 ply steel. Needed something that could stand up to the sharp rock and mesquite down here. To many flats with the stock tires for my area. Thanks again.

    Wasn't there some discussion about steering knuckle failures? What was the issue Kawi took 2 tries to fix? Seems like a great machine, especially if you like rocks. I'm happy with my '20 YXZ1000SS SE, but if I were to buy a belt driven machine today, it would be the Yamaha Rmax, with more trail access friendly 64" width. The KRX is ~2K lbs, correct? I know the YXZ is ~1600lbs, and the Rmax is somewhere between the 2.

    • @47rhorvath
      @47rhorvath  3 года назад +1

      You are correct about the knuckles. The 1st generation had a lip sticking out that would catch on the lower control arm if the steering wheel was turned completely to one side or the other while simultaneously having the front shocks compressed. The lip under those conditions would catch and put a leveraged force onto the control arm causing it to sheer off completely. The fix initially was to simply grind down the lip portion (not related to the strength or integrity of the knuckles) to avoid it from catching. Some people are still running their machines this way with zero issues. I personally had mine replaced by Kawasaki‘s and they do it free of charge ..... the new knuckles do you not have that lip portion that was catching on the lower control arms.

    I have seen 5 bars on my CVT temp. Thoughts? New belt at 1000 miles.

    • @47rhorvath
      @47rhorvath  4 года назад +2

      Interesting, was it during really intense riding? Also not sure if it pertains to your situation, during low speed riding, especially during steep climbs, you should be in low gear. Have seem people leave the machine in high gear during steep climbing, this will cause the belt to get hot. Depending on how you are riding when it happens. If it keep heating up under normal riding, something could be wrong inside the CTV workings. The clutch or something else going on......Best of luck Dennis

      Windshield for sure, A-arm guards if you are In rocky or desert conditions. Spring and Shock kit after about 6 months (stock will sag) front bumper and the rock sliders ( again if in desert or any type of rock climbing) and different tires, the carnivores grip well but are prone to punctures, lastly a good light bar if riding at night. • @Kyle-fu6en
      @Kyle-fu6en 4 года назад +1

      Krx is way better. The talon geometry sucks and it’s dated. The talons ride is very harsh and the transmissions are a weak point

    • @DUNEATV
      @DUNEATV 4 года назад +3

      My two cents...the Talon has a real gear ⚙️ transmission.

    • @47rhorvath
      @47rhorvath  4 года назад +5

      I would still say the KRX..The DCT transmission on the Talon is what attracted me to it..Coming from a Teryx 4, the talon Suspension was a big improvement. Keep in mind I did not have the live valve nor have I ever rode in one, but the talon I had was Not even close to the KRX, For being stock, I think it's the best. As for the question......BETTER? I Would say the direct power off the line from a dead stop. DCT on the talon has the advantage here...... But that is it. KRX rids better, handles better and the maintenance cost on the Honda talon is more expensive and must be done at shorter interval. (even if you do it yourself, it is much more involved) Maybe Talon was a lemon or maybe something was done wrong at my dealership.......I don't want to get into that again, However I lost my faith in the Talon.....Others have had issues I did not have.....Check out the link below.............my opinion only having owned both..........ruclips.net/video/V-Ohb535WBw/видео.html

      Ray Horvath Productions you said in the video you went thru 5-6 air filters already on the krx. Have you looked into the R2C filter? Rocky Mountain atv has them. I have one and like it. You can wash them out and reuse them. It was about$60 plus I got the pre filter cover too. It’s worth a try since it’s about the same cost as the Kawasaki brand filter.
