All of these complaints still pail in comparison to my experience with Polaris junk ! I finally did a duraclutch then traded for a Rmax 1000

You did very well to get 12k miles on the stock clutch. I noticed 77 on your primary. I believe....not sure, that is the second generation primary. I think the first generation was 75. Now there is a new one for the 23's and that is supposed to be best with the new upgraded weights. Good video and thanks for sharing.

Those sheaves are fine. It's your WEIGHTS that have grooved out. I'm on my second set of Dalton weights. They groove quickly. Gives that "shifting" feeling. You keep blaming the sheaves. I had mine warrantied out because of a tiny groove in the sheave. Went aftermarket Dalton weights with the new primary. My original sheave was totally fine. It's the weights. Wish RUclips comments allowed picture replies so I could upload some of my weights.

So maybe a combo of the metal and the belt? Glad the new metal on the primary and secondary is a better steel. 👌

Glad to hear they have updated the clutches. The price is ridiculous. One thing is clear. The high miles you got out of it is great. Says a lot about the KRX. Its not perfect but a really good machine.

Clutch failure? You had some mild grooving, that's all. You should see what real clutch failure looks like! Rollers, weight pins, shoes, towers destroyed.... that's clutch failure. You will never see that on a Kawasaki! All you had to do was resurface those sheaves and run a stock belt. Probably could've been on the road for less than $500.
I wish you would've made a video about this before those guys raped you for $2k!

  • @dantrivett8435

The aftermarket belt could have played a role in grooving your primary do to the harder compounds used in making them and you should be able to have surfaces cleaned up for much less money

From what I’ve heard is the gboost badass belt is the best belt to get. The factory ones are extremely bad at causing grooves when trail riding at one speed

20 to 22 is the same clutch. The new clutch didn't come out till 2023. It'll be stamped 83 on it. The first-generation clutch as you call it is stamped 77. And the new clutch hasn't been out that long to really tell if they fix the problem or not

I have a 2020 with 1680 miles and I am on my 3rd primary. I had to buy 2 out of pocket. Kawasaki and my dealer were complete losers to deal with. Buyer beware is all I can say

I got a new primary with 3 rd set of primary weights. They wore out in about 1500 miles and I got the updated weights that are supposed to be better. So far so good. Everything has been covered under warranty. My dealy really goes to bat for their customers. A friend bought a KRX the same time I did and all the same repairs that I had were covered for him also. I always call Kawasaki and complain about a problem before I go to the dealer. They give you a log number that you give to the dealer so that when they call to get authorization for warranty work they know I complained. They have covered everything so far. I can't say enough about how great my dealer and Kawasaki has treated me.

@@joedawson2396 on this 3rd one since Kawasaki denied helping me I bought the new primary (my dealership gave me at cost to help) and before I installed I put a Dalton Clutch kit in. Dalton has many many years in cvt on snowmobiles which are identical to SxS’s. I spoke with them for hours one day on the phone they were great to explain what the issues are. They have a terrific pdf file on their website you should check it out.

If you get info on if the weights show a lot of wear. I saw a video on JBS that seems to imply the wear on the sheeves is result of wear on the weights? I would be interested in the condition of you weights. I am looking to get a set of weights on mine.
