    SEAT Altea XL 1.8 lt TSI, 2014 come from factory without active oil level alarm on MFA cluster. I find it out in hard way, when after service change oil, some how from full after 1 week come down to 1 lt. below minimum. Then I checked in VCDS and it show oil level in millimeters, but warning signal not been check to be active !!! Once I activated that, alarm come on exactly on minimum oil level or when going up at any hill, which is very good. Evry one who can check your set up to avoid bad experience. Check in Engine - Advance Measuring Values Oil Level and Oil warning Threshold or in Measuring Blocks - Grup no - 009 You will get same results. Then I checked oil level alarm and was from factory set NO !!!

    your oil is no good for that engine..in my opinion you need 5w40/10w40, and no castrol, because is the worst oil on the market. Try liqui molly 5w40. the reason for your consumption is 5w30, wrong oil

      No, 5w30 is not wrong oil for BLS engine with DPF, only VW 504.00/507.00 for this engine

      @@offroad8129 but 5w40 is better anyway :D

    The oil level light turns off when you open the hood because the computer is programmed to do so. The logic is, hmm ... he opened the hood and added oil, okay. If the computer registers that the oil level is still low, it does not turn on the oil level light immediately, wait 100km and then. That's how it's programmed. :)

      Mine still shows oil level low after 100km even though the oil level is fine.

      @abrurares 2 года назад

      @@razvanaxinie4495 It's the other way round. After open/close hood, if oil is still low, the light will turn on only after 100km. In your case, hood latch probably doesn't work properly so the computer doesn't know you've opened it.

      @@abrurares sounds interesting, i have the same problem, the oil level light comes on but the level is correct, so what is wrong is the bonnet lock? I thought it could be the oil sensor in the crankcase. I don't have any bugs registered in VCDS

    • @abrurares
      @abrurares Год назад

      @@Elgarajedelvag I don't know. You can try to make a short on the cable that comes from the bonnet latch, maybe this will tell the computer you've opened it.
