Thank you so much for WATCHing my video and I hope that you check out all my other content.
I release 3 videos per week, all watch related, including reviews, first impressions and general watch related topics.
I try very hard to diversify my content. Featuring known watch brands, microbrands, Aliexpress. Some I have purchased new, others second hand.
The majority of the watches that I feature I have purchased. I buy them to enjoy, wear, have in my collection. I then also feature them on this channel.
Being a smaller channel it is challenging to cover the cost of all the watches that I buy and partly because of this I have become an affiliate member with a number of companies including Aliexpress and Ashford.com.
If you are looking for watches from well known brands then it is worth checking out:
www.ashford.com
If you are looking for great strap options then definitely check out:
vario.sg/
and
artemstraps.com/collections/s...
As an affiliate member I may leave affiliate links in the descriptions of videos. These links will direct you to the watches that I’ve experienced, reviewed and would certainly recommend. If you choose to use those links I will earn a very small commission.
Thank you very much if you choose to use those links.
Below are affiliate links for my absolute favourite watches on Aliexpress. Each of them I have owned and had positive experiences with the stores that they are linked to.

I definitely match my watches to my clothes most of the time.
It is definitely noticeable 😄
I am building a small kit with extra watches for my jeep ! Mostly to hide them from my wife!
Hahahaha.
Before I got into watches, I only had one watch for the longest time. Only having one watch made the decision easy on what watch I should wear for the day. Now I have various watches, with various bracelets, and with various different colored bands. For instance, If I'm wearing a black belt for the day, then I'll either keep the watch on the bracelet or switch the bracelet out for a black colored band. I use quick release spring bars so making the switch is pretty easy.
That is a good way around it.
Clothes 1st then watch!
Thanks for WATCHing
Sophie was awesome & a great addition to your video!
You know you have a watch problem when you pick the watch for the day, then choose clothes to match the watch!
I’m very aware. Hahahaha
Hahaha. Must confess I've already been there, mate. Since then, I've managed myself to return to the basics: choose the watch (amongst a 21 pieces collection) according to the outfit for the day (clothing, shoes and belt).
Oh man. I’ve doing it all wrong. I need more colorful dresses. Thank you Sophie! 😉 But yes, I do pick my watch first and then my clothes to match it. Although most of my watches are white, black, or gray so they go with anything. I have two blue dial watches, and I do pay a little more attention to what color I’m wearing that day. And of course after ALL this, I have to realize NO ONE cares about what I’m wearing. 😆. Thanks James!
That is very true. Hahahaha
I choose my watch according to the outfit I choose for the day.
Thanks for WATCHing
Thanks again to Sophie
She was brilliant 😁 I will check out your link 👍
My approach to which watch I wear is less based on fashion and more based on the idea that all of the watches in my collection should for the sake of the movements be used on a regular basis thus making sure that none of them are sitting idle with their gears in one position for long periods of time. I, therefore, have devised a schedule whereby the watches that are my favourites are paired with those that are not. The ones that I like more are worn 4.5 to 5 days and the others 2 to 2.5 days thus equaling two watches per week and allowing me to rotate through my 16 watch collection every 8 weeks. I, however, will break the cycle for utilitarian reasons (weddings=dress watch) or (rough work= old beater watch) but mostly I stick to the schedule and I enjoy seeing a different watch every few days and at same time I can look forward to the return in the schedule of my favourites.
Thanks for WATCHing
Pretty much what I did do ...but er , 1 blue diver for 'summer' (selection of colurful natos); 1 black diver for winter ( smart casual office ) then 1 day each for solar dress & solar field ,unless I get a new watch ( 3 handers: 34 - 36mm CW63'/ Hamilton Jazzmaster) or a similar seiko 5 - the last type I also wear going out/weekends or my sarb.
I completely agree as I coordinate my watch with outfit and purpose. As a teacher I change up my clothes depending on season and choose my watch depending on shirt colour, tie design/colour etc. Having over 200 watches helps... or doesn't! I'm in Sydney, hope to talk soon!
Wow 200. That’s awesome
James, I do the exact same thing! Sometimes, I even match the watch dial to my wardrobe. My wife looks at me like I'm from a planet unknown. It took me a couple of days to pick 3 watches for our vacation. About your polo, shouldn't it have a kangaroo or no,no,no, a crocodile! Loved Sophie as well. Thanks for another great video James.
Hahahaha that would be great. Would make more sense
I almost always pick a watch based on the shirt I’m wearing that day and what I’m going to be doing. Earlier this week I added a second green dial watch to the box so I went out and bought a new green shirt to go with it. I have a few ‘junk drawer’ watches that I wear when gardening or doing anything that has a higher chance of breaking a watch.
Hahaha. That’s fantastic
It's a must!!! I pick my clothes to match the watch I want to wear.😇
Thanks for WATCHing
I’ll do both, pick a watch first and then my clothes or pick an outfit first and then match the watch. It just depends on what the plans are for the day.
Thanks for WATCHing
yes i do some matchy routine. especially if i'm wearing brown belt and brown shoes w/c means it's the brown watch or brown strapped watch i would be wearing.
also i never do g-shocks when i need to dress up.
I do like to try and match strap, belt and shoes. But mostly when I’m dressing up a bit.
Not being very fashionable, the only time I matched my watch/strap to my clothes was on my daughter's wedding day. I do choose watches for activities though, sun cream and leather straps is not a good mix! I'm not a bracelet fan and not keen on rubber straps, my go to in the summer is two piece nylon straps, breathable, washable, tough and cheap as chips. Both my G-Shocks are on nylon too.
Thanks for WATCHing
Yoooo, it's Sophie!!! This is so dope!
Hahahaha. She was very nice and agreed to help me out.
I have always tried to match my watch to outfit.
It does feel nice to match
Sophy seems awesome! I generally pick stuff that matches my other stuff. My problem is that I can literally take half an hour to pick a watch. Australia seems a lot like Africa. The Karoo in particular! I don't do leather often either. I don't have an expensive collection so almost everything can be a beater if the need arises. I am a bit of a practical person and prefer function over aesthetics. Take care James!
Hahahaha. Sometimes I catch myself staring at the collection wondering which one to wear.
@@WATCHingJames Im telling you man... It happens haha!
I'm guilty of this! Fortunately, changing the strap usually does the trick!
A good way to get around it
I will normally match my watch to what i am wearing unless I am doing work where the watch could get damaged and then it is one of my G-Shocks.
Thanks for WATCHing
I'll wear a shiny/flashy "nice" watch with super casual (like athletic or "house clothes") outfits, but I probably won't wear my bulky sporty diver with a preppy look, unless I changed at work or something. That said, my flashier watches fall short of being explicitly formal.
Thanks for WATCHing
Of course, you also have to match the strap/bracelet to what you wear as well! Can make for a lot of fuss...lol
Hahahaha. Yes it can
Thanks for the kool video you two. Love that oris! As far as matching the watch etc goes, I dont wear divers with anything formal after seeing an estate agent in a suit with an oversized diver it kind of looked wrong, in my view.
Thanks for WATCHing
I do wear my watches to match with my clothes particularly by colour LOL the only type that is kinda hard to match are those 'vintage' watches like Casio like F91 LOL
Thanks for WATCHing
You mean some people don't coordinate their watches to their outfits? Madness!
Hahahahaha. Absolute madness.
Unless im wearing a suit or tux, other than that matching colors, my choice of watch has more to do with the occasion than with the style of clothing. I mean I’ll wear a solid 14k gold Longines estate tank with a chocolate lizard strap with a white t, jeans, and a nice pair of brown boots.
Thanks for WATCHing
We ❤ Sophie 😊
She is great
Imagine having 350+ fragrances and have to match with the weather the mood the outfit or the watch! Absolute nightmare 😂
Too much choice. Hahahahahaha
If it's maybe a formal occasion, then a dress watch seems appropriate. Other than that, I absolutely pay no heed to what I'm wearing or colors or whatever. I wear the clothes I want and then wear the watch I want.
Seriously, 99.999% of people don't care or even look at or notice your watch. And even if they do, who cares? I don't dress according to what other people want.
Agreed. No one else is really paying attention
With you on this. I wear my dozen or so watches on a strict rotation no matter the outfit, except for my vintage dress watch which only comes out if I'm wearing a suit.
I just wear what i want when i want, not fussed about matching, whatever tickles me at the time....🏴⌚🏴⌚
Probably the best way to approach this
my 2264.50.00 goes with anything and I can take it anywhere
Thanks for WATCHing
Good
Thanks for WATCHing
Sometimes I'm a bit perverse. I wear a really blingy piece. Which everyone thinks is expensive. Then I wear my Explorer 2. And it attracts no attention.
Thanks for WATCHing
Shoes 👞 match watch.

Can I ask for the make and model of the wooden watch box, please?
I actually made this one myself.

Loving the Oris automatic
What model is it?
It is the BC3. Lots of bargain versions of it out there.
Cheers for the info
Really enjoy your channel
Thank you
Oh boy, this one hits close to home lol. My schedule determines which watches I can pick from, but from there, the watch drives the outfit etc hehe. And halfway through the day I may be feeling a different watch... maybe late at night ANOTHER watch... and then later maybe.... LOL
I would hate to know how many watches I sometimes wear in a day.
Hahahahahaha
What brand of polos do you wear I like how they look
They are from a brand called Rodd and Gunn
@@WATCHingJames thanks! I wonder if they’re available in Canada? Do you find they run large, true to size or a bit small?
True to size.
@@WATCHingJames Thanks I usually go either Small or Medium
I always get heaps of stick from the missus & young bloke, about my lengthy decisions on what watch to wear with a particular outfit.
Only other watch geeks can understand.
We definitely do understand
I dress like the dude from the big Lebowski. Any watch goes with that.
Thanks for WATCHing
Watch should match what you wear ! Shoes should match belt , then slacks , then shirt , then socks , now go pick a watch that looks perfect .
Thanks for WATCHing
Such a first world problem. I tend more to the company I'll be with.
Hahahaha. Yes it is.
James, your female energy is showing itself again.
Hahahahahaha
I don't think she understands what Netflix and Chill means.
Hahahahahahaha
Anything suit grey t-shirt ;-)
