Ok folks. I don’t care whose dog it is. This dog should have been removed and put in training. As the owner of a current GSD and 6 previous ones, they need training. The WH is a different kind of environment and to be honest had this dog belonged to anyone else he would have been put down way before now. This is not a political statement. This is a statement to advocate for the dog.

I rescued a dog that is NOT okay with people as hard as I tried to socialize him I can only do 1 or 2 people at a time to keep him okay. I stopped having parties or dinner parties, because I made a commitment to my dog and I need to give him an environment he can handle and cope with. That dog should've been rehomed to a suitable environment the first time they saw the Whitehouse was a stressful environment for him.

I had a dog who was abused. He was the best guard dog I ever had. I warned everyone to keep their distance because he was so protective. I listened to his judge of character. He only bit 2 people. 1 the person who abused him and 2. My vet who did not listen to me about how I needed to introduce them and walked through my gate without my presents and against my instructions when I made the appointment. Everyone who did listen to my instructions absolutely loved him. He was a big cuddlebug when he was introduced to people.
We have a very strict No Fly zone in our backyard.

Second, if by some miracle, he had a dog and it was biting people, he would have said something horrible like my dog bites ugly people or losers or something like that and THAT would have been the controversy. Dogs are a very good judge of Character. Shepherds don't like lots of different handlers. I have a little Rescue who was abused. I don't know how anybody could have ever been mean to him. He's a Chihuahua mix, he is affectionate, smart, sweet and is now VERY spoiled.
Exactly what I was thinking! They are very loyal and protective, when someone is possibly putting off a smell that the dog detects as bad intentions, it's going to do what it thinks is it's job. Think about all the bad people still up there on the Hill, threaded throughout, Comander was just pointing them out. They should look at each of those he bit, it would be interesting to see who they are and who they served.

This is anecdotal. Dogs can be good judges of character, but they can also have innate tendencies, lack of training, past abuse and neglect, etc. It’s not that simple.

I agree. Now I have been attacked by a pit but that one was poorly trained. I have interacted with 4 at one time and they are precious dedicated creatures. Once they accept you, you're protected as well.

I was raised with German shepherds my mom bred them my whole childhood. Many of them went for police dogs or in the military. Yes the dog was not trained good enough but there was probably a reason for the dog acting this way because they're highly intelligent. Maybe It was just as simple as a secret service agent who was especially stressed out and giving off of a bad vibe. Still needs to be trained and then the people need to be trained on how to handle it.
Again they're very loyal and they defend their person or their family.
No one should be blamed for the dog doing the job that they're bred for, just find a dog that's not so protective and one who enjoys all the social activity that surrounds being the President.

I was bit by a pit bull when I was 3 y/o and since then I have been afraid of dogs, especially big ones. NOW I see it as this, I know that it's not the breed, but how it was raised. However a big dog is a big dog all the same.

Love German shepherds. Was watching Queen Camilla host Labradors and other dogs at Clarence House. They are a special kind of dog that can detect if you have a serious illness and they all really love her. Dogs know true and kind people and you could tell they really love her.

She lets bees land on her nose. She protects the chickens from opossums and cats, but she just stomps at the intruders and sticks her butt in the air. She doesn’t chase them.
