If you go to the kitchen ladies by the castle door with Jill they say something like “aren’t you a handsome pair we will be cooking a feast for you two someday”
These two were smiling at each other and throwing glances even when the other wasn't looking. They're crushing hard one each other in this demo, but it's done in a way that doesn't ignore the fact they also support and care for each other. We can already see how important they are to each other and I think that's beautiful.
this scene is what sold me on final fantasy 16. theyre embracing the past of what the franchise so special but also charting a new path forward to modernize the franchise. the music, the feels and the character development is what grasps your heart on a final fantasy game. this does it all for you.
@@premiersutherland4099 you might be on to smt there 🤔 Squall and Rinoa and Serah and Snow did this didn't they? who else? Yuna and Tidus was underwater so they're sort of different and Cecil and Rosa have scenes all over the place so it's hard to say those two were all over each other for most of the game horny bits lol
Returning to this, after the beach scene, made me tear up again. So much subtle, yet crushing emotion throughout their behaviors for one another fills chests with such hardened sentiment. No matter what age, and what they have faced, they are still the same people they have grown up with. It is beyond beautiful, and it makes me longing for them more. I haven't finished the game yet, as I'm confused by my reluctant decision to continue because I know how much this world will turn itself. I'll come back here and edit my reaction after finishing the game.
Clive’s self-esteem is probably in the gutter after always being deemed the failure by his shitty mom, Poor kid. 😢 I hate to think what the mom did with Jill after Elwin, Joshua and Clive were gone. 😬
That is definitely the case. You can tell there is an attraction and longing he feels for her but he considers himself to be completely unworthy of a girl like Jill, as if he is afraid to taint her baucause he is such a failure in his own eyes. The worst part is that Jill is clearly crushing hard on him, he's more than worthy in her eyes. This is so sad.
"He takes too many risks. I only wish I can save him from himself." god the nuance in this scene i love it. its so loaded for jill and clive's relationship later
Perfection. Visually and musically it reminds me of Final Fantasy II, IV and V. I dont have words for this type of emotion. The moonlit scenes are captivating.
I'm still impressed how, through animated facial expressions and voice acting alone, they managed to convey that Clive is really proud to be given his first command and half-heartedly trying to brag, but it falls flat because he doesn't think much of himself (thanks to his lunatic of a mother who treats him like a burden and a mistake). I grew to love (and feel really bad for) his character pretty much in that moment.
@sirdamned9272 absolutely. I made the GRAVE mistake of accidentally caring deeply for that little goober lord Joshua. What an infuriatingly depressing and heartbreaking Final Fantasy. I was shocked at how mentally fucked I was after the demo alone with what happened to him. I told my friend I probably can continue this game. You do not unalive children. That is absolutely unforgivable evil. Then he just...walks into his "fate". Poor Joshua. I don't even want to play the DLC. I beat FFXVI twice.
Say what you want about the English voice acting (I'm looking at you purists complaining about the English voice casts when they are AMAZING) but holy hot damn I've never been so excited to pre-order a Final fantasy game before since FF7 remake. I LOVE the voice acting and the SOUNDTRACK IS SO FREAKING SWEET and the atmosphere between them? ELECTRIC! I ship them so hard. I haven't been so excited for a couple before in so long. I love the care and attention they give each other. They are both so sweet and careful with each other. You can tell that there's this weird line that they can't cross in their relationship due to their responsibilities and when Jill totally wants to say that YOU SHOULD TAKE OF YOURSELF it's like JESUS the CHEMISTRY! I feel so bad for Clive since he's too hard on himself and he holds himself back on what he wants and his wishes just for Joshua which makes this story all the more amazing. One thing I ADORE so far in the demo was the relationships and theme of LOVE between characters; whether it's between father and son, brothers, friends or family the story is so interwoven with it and it works so darn well. I can't wait to get my hands on this game next Friday. WELL DONE SQUARE for doing a revenge story RIGHT (side eye to Naughty dog, sorry not sorry).
Umm, actually 0:34 completely looks like VIII but from the scene of Squall and Quistis, you know. But the scene as a whole is different. Squall and Quistis has 0 chemistry that time, lol
@@Force-Multiplier the kissing scene after the ending credits, yes. Other than that, Im not sure, lol. But the one where Squall leaning against the banister was definitely with Quistis

@@victoriasegura97 why death sentence? Maybe I missed something.. well, with the game having mature and dark theme, its possible that bad ending will happen like XV 😅. But I'd like to think if Clive survives til the end, then Jill would as well
@Fahriza it's just if a dominant uses his or her powers too much they turn to stone in which we saw with Cid in the ambition trailer. So every time they transform it takes a toll on their bodies.
This scene here is a great exemple of text and subtext. The text is kinda "boring": they are talking about a potential war. But the subtext is what makes it so much more interesting: they care so much about each other, so they are very worried about how the war might separate them.

Clive: I should get some sleep
Also Clive: *leans against the banister and doesn't leave*

I thought OG FF fans hate modern FF games.
The camera artwork here is fascinating. The shot from the moon and the one on the almost "hug" from Clive are emotionally strong while yet subtle.
