This why I took apart Meren for Mazirek (seeing Maz on your channel). Gets out of hand so quickly and is just a super fun commander that takes advantage of what most people do already. Saccing treasures, fetches…with token doublers? Also lots of combos that are pretty easy to pull off. Thank you for showing what other decks can do and enabling my cardboard crack addiction ❤️
Awesome game! I actually turned my Phenax/Mirko-vosk deck into an Umbriss deck. (less emphasis on horrors though). Just a lot of milling, then exiling the yards and them go in for the kill for commander damage.
Honestly, I like when mistakes are overlooked in editing. It reminds people that great content isn't always perfect, but that doesn't make it any less watchable
I had a sefris deck. I didnt even make it that good, in the sense that I didnt include the most terrifying things to reanimate, ie elish norn, either jin etc. The commander is disgusting especially with the new dungeon. I added in the new cards, played 5 games, and each game around turn 10, I just kept accidentally going infinite with dungeons. She is straight terrifying as well since the only way to deal with her is farewell. literally anything else and all you do is buy 1-2 turns.
I built Barrowin for Orzhov Dungeons, it's a ton of fun and very flavorful with all of the DnD art. Give full dungeons a try! It's a mechanic that isn't going to steamroll the game but, due to it being lower power, won't draw you as much hate.
8:30 when Nick flickers Nadar and ventures into Mad Mage and chooses the room to prevent Umbris from attacking until NICK'S next turn, he did so during Max's turn. Which means on Max's next turn he could have attacked with Umbris because Nick's turn had passed directly after. :o
I can confirm Nadaar can do tje thing multiple times in a game and just get so much value. I also built Him recently, with a paladin subtheme and was a blast to play, despite me not winning any game with it.
I feel like every time I see Ziatora, it's just the replacement for Korvald after someone's playgroup complained he was too strong. I think it's a shame, I'd like to see a list where she gets to be herself with big flings or something
Seems like a really value and open enough design. A lot of space for a lot of strategies. Andrew trashed us a couple pf times with it and it seemed fair on each occasion.
I went blue white tokens. Just something different then what everyone else does. I like when my pilots turn into more pilots then into angels with plus 1 plus 1 and vigilance...
@@danpasquale1620 that's interesting but the RC usually bans cards that either warp the meta or lead to oppressive play patterns. AFAIK Shorikai doesn't lend itself to either, unlike Hullbreacher or Leovold. I'm still waiting for Tergrid to be banned but in the meantime I'll just alpha strike the Tergrid player every time.

Nadaar is such a fun commander. Baldur's gate gave the deck some really fun toys too.

Exile is such a powerful ability with very little to counter that effect. For that reason I think Umbriss is extremely over powered.

Oblivion Sower has a Cast-Trigger, not an ETB. (around 18:45)
Oblivion sower has an etb trigger bc it enters as a nightmare. You are right about its main ability not triggering tho
