I will be joining you for this one, Laura. It sounds like a lot of fun. Thank you for taking the time to organize the sew along. Pam😍
It wouldn’t be a mystery quilt if it is seen. As always Laura this is a great project! I love surprises and I know it will be beautiful. Your style is so nice in fabrics and I just love 💕 everything you share with your virtual audience.
I just about have all my fabric cut. This quilt along sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks for doing this.
Sew excited to start this BOM! My fabric is all cut, using up scraps from my stash. I'm ready to go!! Thank you for doing this fun program.
I’m doing this project. Just starting so catch-up is in order for me. I am currently doing 2 toddler quilts and another with a virtual group. I am so EXCITED to get your project started.
What a great idea. I made 12 copies and gave one to each lady in my quilting group.
They loved it. I love your channel.
I love all the finishes. I'm determined to bind my quilt this weekend, so I can start cleaning out my closet and start a new project. 😂
I will be joining in. I have been looking at all kinds of patterns to try and use fabric I already have on hand. This one is just perfect and knowing how you work, even though I don’t know ahead of time how it is supposed to look, I know I won’t be disappointed. Thank you for helping me use up more of my scraps!!!
This is my first ever quilt along, can't wait, thank you
Began cutting up scraps today for this and I'm almost cleared out. YAY! Looking forward to this surprise quilt. Thank you for providing this opportunity to quilt with you.
So exciting…looking forward to February!!!
All cut and ready!!! All scraps. I'll also use leftover backings and batting so the whole quilt will be scrappy. Yes...even scrappy binding!!!
Love the prep, before starting to piece the blocks. Thank you for doing this. It will certainly help us in this project. Really appreciate how you organize your projects. Can't wait for all the tips that you'll share. Take care and blessings to y'all.
I think this will be great for me as I need something to get my mojo going in quilting. I have totes of material that really need to be made into something ! Thanks so much for doing this.
Laura this sounds like so much fun, and I can cut up scraps!!!!Can’t wait!
This is exactly what I’ve been hoping to find for 2024! Looking forward to getting my scraps together in time for the next video.
You're at the top of my project list, Laura! I'm really looking forward to this. 😊
Very looking forward to this project. Thank you ❤
I like scraps and will join it too.
Thank you Laura for this BOM. Love the idea of cutting all the piece up first and have them ready to sew. Hopefully this will make a dent in my scrap bin ha ha. Looking forward to next month. Thanks again. Elen
Happy New Year 2024! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. 💖🌞🌵😷
This is perfect for the insane amount of scraps I have!
Thank you, Laura. I'm going to follow along. I've never made a scrappy quilt
Thank you for doing this. I am so excited about joining in on this project and the fact that it will slow me down a bit and use up lots of scraps.
I have just finished two mystery quilts, and this may be my third!
Wish I had seen this 9 months ago, but better late than never!!
Oh I'm super happy you're hosting a Quilt a Long. Looking forward to joining in. Blessings
Thank you Laura! I love all your videos, but this is the most exciting to date. I'm sewing along with you. 🧵🪡
Thank you so much for doing this for us. Sounds like fun!! I am happy to be using up as many scraps as I can. See you on Feb.8th.
Ooh, this sounds good. Making units to prepare. Then make the quilt!
I am so excited to start on this one. What a great way to use up all those leftover bits and pieces I have been cutting up and saving for the last so many years. I will see if I can find a 68cm piece for contrast, otherwise I will be buying only that. For the background, I am going to use the whites with very small prints as well. Thank you. Can't wait to start cutting up. Yes, that is another good idea to cut up before we start. I don't really like block of the month where each block is different, and, do like that it will tie up.
Thanks, Laura. Looking forward to this sewalong. BTW, I do the same cutting of scraps after each project. 🙂
Very intriguing. I’m very interested. Good job Laura.
Looks like a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to it. You’re very generous with your time and talent.
I will join you for this one, too... I love the organization.
This sounds like so much fun. I can't wait to get started picking out my fabric. Thanks Laura you're awesome 😊
Finally finished cutting all the pieces. Waiting for the March segment.
I love a mystery quilt 😊
This sounds so fun Laura. It seems do-able amongst my other projects. Now I need to check out my scraps!!
Thank you I love your video
Woo hoo I'm in
I have scraps that need a home and this is the ticket.
Thank you Laura.
Can wait.
I'm doing the de clutter challenge with Karen Brown of just get it done quilts and we will be wrapping that up just in time to start this. I'm so excited.
what time will the February 8 VIDEO be up and what time zone are you in
Sounds like fun and scrappy is perfect!
Hello, this is going to be fun to sew along with you. Thank you for the information ahead so we can get ready. I have the printout and start cutting today. Can't wait for the next video.
Wonderful!
Have asked several of my sewing friends to join me. You attention to detail will help them.
I’d like to try this! I love that you are doing components instead of blocks. I should be able to keep up with that. Thank you. Happy New Year.
You can do it!
I'm in, I have a lot of scraps, but a little scared not knowing what the pattern is like. Afraid my scraps wont look good. But excited at the same time. Thanks Laura
Hopefully I'll have enough scrapes to make this.😊
I’m excited for this one. Thanks for taking the time to take us along Miss Laura.
so excited to do a sew along with you
Now to hit my scrap bins and fat quarters ❤
Looking forward to the quilt along
I’m excited ! Going to start cutting!
Have fun!
Count me in on this one!
Can’t wait, so excited! Thank you Laura 🥰
Can we see an example of what the finished quilt looks like?😊
I’d like to see the finished quilt also. I can’t commit my time, effort and fabric to a project without any idea what it will look like. But, I’ll definitely follow along watching you make this quilt.
I’m in it for the surprise, it’s like signing up for a mystery quilt! I like that a lot if the fabrics are scraps so the $$ outlay won’t be much to start with.
I’m using all flower prints for my printed fabrics and my white fabrics that have raised designs as my background fabrics. This white fabric has a name but I can’t recall it at the moment, but I do know if a light is placed against it the design on it can then be seen.
Thank you.
Intrigueing idea❤
Im excited to join as i have so many scraps 🤣
Thanks for the print out. Looking forward to the sew along. 😊😊❤😊😊
This looks like fun!
Thank you so much.!!!!
❤ that is an interesting project…….😊
After a long term of not sewing, I am finding my mojo again and your RUclips channel. I want to make this a scrappy quilt, so Most important to me is do use up what scraps I have “the scraps really never go away 😊. Do you suggest we use small or medium size print, fabric or Does the print size matter? I know that we need mediums and darks to contrast with our background fabric, also, when you say 72 inch will this quilt finish 72 x 72 as a square? Thank you for your generosity and offering this free block of the month sew along mystery quilt..
So excited
I'm interested especially to use my scraps. Have a lot going right now so I might have to catch up in a month or two.
Any chance we can a look at the finished quilt design? Or is this a mystery quilt?
This is a mystery this year. But it is not a sampler quilt.
I am joining in. This will be my first mystery quilt. Excited!
Question since I don’t have a lot of scraps but do have some yardages of fabric I have purchased just because I liked it, since the binding is 8 WOF, can I just use 8 different fabrics?
Sounds interesting ❤
If someone wants to not use scraps, how many yards of each color should we have the binding and the background fabric is a given in your hand out for the main blocks if we want to do three colors how much of each color should we get? Thank you so much.
I’m looking forward to joining you with this mystery quilt. One question. When I was reviewing the cutting information, I wondered if the dimensions for the contrast and one of the print pieces is correct. It’s listed as 3 1/2” X 6”. Should they be listed as 3 1/2” X 6 1/2”? It would make sense with the white 6 1/2” square in white.
What if I need to make my quilt a King size or 108” square? How many more blocks will I need and how can I adjust the cutting amounts?
Love a Mystery 😂😂😂
I really would like to participate but the PDF doesn’t appear to be downloading
It's Feb 8 and I haven't found the Part 1 for the sew along. Thanks
I'd love to do one of these block of the months but I'm way too OCD not to know what the pattern is. I have "winged" a few quilts but I've had a jumping off point that I can refer back to.
Sounds like fun!! Thank you Laura. Will we be needing any special rules throughout the year?
No😊
So, except for the contrasting fabric (bright gold) and the white background, all the other fabrics are medium to dark values?
yes :)
Sounds like fun. I can't print out the free handout. Do I have to "purchase" the printout?
This is not really a question, just. a confirmation that I am understanding, but for a three color quilt it is the background, one print, and the contrast, right? Or do I need three colors of print? Sorry for having to ask this.
I hit my stash for this. I do have a question, if I wanted to have half dark and half medium prints would the cutting be half for each size?
Im in.
Is there a picture of the quilt that we will be making, with these components/blocks?
Are there cutting instructions if we just want to make it a 3 color quilt?
you will need a background, a main color and a contrast color. The cutting will be the same :)
@@SewVeryEasyBut what colors for each size cut?
Laura, going in on this project. Question: looking at the Fabric Requirements to be clear, is the Medium and Dark Prints 2.5 yards each. I did not hear or see medium fabric mentioned anywhere. Is the medium fabric the backing fabric? Thanks. Always look forward and enjoy your videos.
the scrappy fabric can be a mix of whatever you want. I just think a mix of both med and dark will look nice and that is a total amount combined. Thanks for joining along
@@SewVeryEasy thank you for clearing that up. I am starting the cutting process tomorrow.
I was looking for a challenge. Your quilts are beautiful. Putting my faith in this. Will the sew alongs be live or recorded? I may be at work when you are on. Thanks for doing this. Lisa
all are recorded so you can go back as often as needed.
@@SewVeryEasy Wonderful, thank you.
what time is the February 8th video available ? what time zone are you in
I am unable to download and print out the cutting instructions. When i click on the download button it is very fuzzy and will not download. Any suggestions?
I tried to get a copy of the instructions and I am getting instruction that are unreadable for me to cut the fabrics
I don’t have enough scrap for this size and don’t want to add. Is there any way you could provide amounts for a smaller throw or something? Just asking just in case…
In other mystery Quilts, what I have done was decided that I would make fewer blocks. What size are you wanting to make your quilt? Take that measurement and figure out what percentage that is of a 72 inch quilt. For example, you may just want to make a 36”inch quilt so that would be 50% of 72”So you would reduce the number of blocks by 50%. I think that would work out. the number we don’t have that may be helpful would be what is the finished size of each quilt block.
You mention the Print 2.5x24" are an estimated size. Does that mean they can be smaller? Or bigger too? Am I safe to cut exact 2.5x24" strips?
Yes, you can cut 2.5 x 24. It will be a bit smaller than the 24" but 2.5 is the same
Will there be flying geese?
I can't fill in the form for the handout as it does not accept my phone number
I am in, scappy quilt for me
This seems like a great project. I’m new to quilting so I don’t have many scraps so I think I will try 3 colors. Does that mean I follow the Fabric requirements. Color 1, 3 1/2 yards; Color 2, 2 1/2 yards; Color 3, 3/4 yards; Binding, 3/4 yard?
You need a background(,my White) your main fabric ( this is the scrappy that I am using), and one contrast ( my yellow) and your binding
Thank yoi
Thank yoi
Thank you
Thank you
I can’t seem to print the pdf. Do I have to do something else? 0:16

Where did Feb. go?! I'd better get my fabric cut out!
The link to the document is broken. :)
I downloaded the instructions but wanted to try a 3 color quilt, but don't know how that is supposed to work with cutting fabric pieces. Any ideas what I should do?
You need a background, your main fabric ( this is the scrappy that I am using), and one contrast ( my yellow)
So I need to cut all the pieces that say print in just the one color, right?@@SewVeryEasy
What if we want to use 3 fabrics, is there a print out for cutting ?
you will need a background, a main color and a contrast color. The cutting will be the same :)
