Hi Maddie. Thanks for the great video - very helpful.
We are travelling to Phhu Quoc soon and we are trying to figure out which part of the island has the most beautiful (clean) and calm beach. Did you travel around the Island and can you recommend an area? We would love to book a nice beach front bungalow with a nice, calm beach to relax by. Thank you so very much. Happy Travels

The Vietnamese certainly found a way to give it back to western powers in the wars.
The prison built by the French in Hanoi was another hellhole that was very ironically named the "Hanoi Hilton."
Prisoners were beaten and tortured frequently and forced to sign false confessions and listen to propaganda. They got to was every 3 or 4 months.
    Great video Maddie.

History is written by the victors. Keep that in mind.
Before 1975, Phú Quốc island was only known as a an island to keep dangerous criminals from society, no difference than Alcatraz of the US in the Bay area.
I have never gone to see the display you are showing, knowing the truth would be distorted to the point of unrecognizable. I don’t want to fall victim in their propaganda.
But now, it happens that you show it thru your footage, I couldn’t hold myself not to share my thoughts. What you see staging in that prison are what truly happened to all of our male relatives who served in the Viet Nam Cộng Hoà regime. After the fall of Saigon in April 1975, all of military servicemen who served in the South were forced into concentration camps by the North. The men were forced into hard labor, tortured physically and mentally, more than half of them died in prisons, the rest became disable in various degrees. That’s why in 1990, the US government re-initiated Humanization Organization to rescue these prisoners of war, bring them and their families to the US.
I am really flabbergasted of what shown in your video, not because of the degrees of inhumane behavior but because of how twisting the story is, who is the perpetrator vs who is the victim here.
You have fell into their lies, Maddie. A lot of victims in this madness now live all over the US as well as in other free countries around the world. They immigrated here thru that HO program. Very easy to find them. Go to any Vietnamese community in your areas, look for them and have an interview, they will honestly tell you what they went thru, if they haven’t lost their mind from those darkest time of their life yet.
By the way, the US government re-enacted the HO program because the work of an activist, a Vietnamese widow, whose husband has died in one of the many concentration camps run by the North, probably from most if not all the mistreatments that they parade for showing in what you called a war memorial “Trại Giam Phú Quốc”.
Be a good reporter. Do your homework. Go find the truth, Maddie.
