Danang, Vietnam - Where To Stay

- In this video "Danang Where To Stay", you'll find a comprehensive overview of the most favored places to stay by foreign visitors and expats living in Danang. All of the main districts and their most popular wards or neighborhoods are featured. The popular ward for Western Expats, My An and the An Thuong Tourist Streets are featured first, followed by Khue My-favored by long-term expats, Hoi Hai, where you'll find several 5 star resorts on the beach, Phuoc My and Man Thai. Then we'll finish with the city districts and neighborhoods of the city center, An Hai Bac, An Hai Trung, and Hai Chau. As many of these places are quite varied in their characteristics it's fair to say that there's something that would appeal to almost anyone coming to Danang. If you enjoy the video please give it a thumbs up, leave a comment, and share with your fellow friends and travellers.

Hello John, I'm Vietnamese, I've watched a lot of Vietnam travel videos and vlogs, but I especially see your channel making videos in a very professional and detailed way, including talking about historical origins, and you always have respect for the countries you visit. I wish you always have happy and joyful days.
Thank you so much for your very kind words. I really appreciate that you took the time to comment. I wish you many blessings to you and your family!
Why promote big luxury hotels that are a far cry from the lives of Vietmese . Da Nang is a fantastic city that deserves better than this one sided video. Sorry but there so much more to talk about.

I really like this guy . His info is totally straight forward and genuine without a load of waffle and another agenda...keep it up..hope you get a lot more recognition for your work. Cheers!
Thanks, very much appreciated!!!
We are in Da Nang currently and love it! We've been full-time traveling with our 2 kids and we are considering Da Nang as one of our home bases after traveling to 11 countries in 1 year! Easy airport access, clean, safe, nice beach and affordable! Simply Amazing!❤😊🇻🇳
Glad you’re enjoying your stay!

@@peterthermocline Thanks very much, appreciate that!!!
Love Danang
I can’t imagine anything worse than having to drag kids around with a ton of luggage and having to uproot once a month to experience “new countries”, I travel with just a backpack and that is challenging enough.
I feel bad for you. 😂
Da Nang is my favourite Vietnam destination, will be back in July. I enjoy every minute there.
Great to hear!!!

The nice video
@@Mrdochithinh Thank you!!!
Here after Kuala Lumpur metro guide video. The detail and style of video with map markers is so cool and made it easier to watch than other RUclips videos yapping all day. I had great time staying 2 nights in son tra near beach last year. The crowds were less and accommodation was surprising cheap compared to Saigon and Hanoi. Your weather advisory for November was spot on as we landed da nang in rain and Hoi An was flooded. I had great time walking entire dragon bridge and going to cho con market and ended up on river cruise with lot of Koreans 😊. I loved Da Nang and want to spend more than 2-3 days here. The combination of sea front, river front especially walking spaces parallel to the river and proximity to airport and Hoi An makes it an all rounder. Thanks for bringing back my memories and all the best for the channel. Wish you make more videos in neighbouring countries as well. 👍🏾👍🏾
Will do! Thank you so much!!! And thanks for sharing your experience!
You got me at " Many neighborhoods have enthusiastic recreational outdoor singer that could cause a lot of grief for you". 😄

Beautiful Danang
Yes I agree!!!
Watching this video takes me back over 53 years since the last time I saw it. Wow, things have changed especially what was called China Beach and was a recreation area for the US military during the war. All of the areas identified in this video are beautiful, areas where I use to always carried an M-16. I'd love to go back and see it now.
We're coming for 30 days this August and staying in My An. Thanks to your video, we are now excited to explore other parts of the city on foot and on wheels!
You’re welcome! Enjoy your stay!
My favourite beach location John in Vietnam is Danang. The Expats I meet are working with a real work visa, running a business or investing in one with a proper investment visa, married to a Vietnamese and have a Dependent visa or TT, Viet Kieu with the appropriate visas and The Tourist who comes and goes with a tourist visa. All contribute to the economy which helps Vietnam. Not so long ago people working or trying to retire on tourist visas were told to leave the country. I enjoy your videos and I enjoy Vietnam. looking forward to the next episode.😎
Wonderful to hear you have had such a great experience meeting expats here and others enjoying life in Danang! Thanks again for sharing and look forward to bringing you more videos from here!
Things that didn't happen for 100$ Alex lol
Right on time! I'm planning to spend a month in Da Nang just a few months from now. Just the type of informative, practical content I needed. Thank you so much! And couldn't agree with you more about not tying yourself to just one location in retirement. That's exactly how I'm doing it. Your videos are top-notch...looking forward to the next one!
Thanks very much!!! I hope you have the best stay in Danang and the best of luck with your future plans!!!
Just remind you , Vietnam is the communist country created by China = same policies = secret polices every where to watch you . 1 million Vietnamese boat people escape by boats after the Fall of Saigon to escape communism and seek the freedom in the free countries such as the USA.
Great video and info... We have been traveling Sth East Asia (Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam) for the past 17 mths and found Da Nang one of the most affordable and livable cities we have visited... We stay in Da Nang for 3 mths at a time now and do a month or so in another country whilst renewing our visa... Enjoy 🍻

Excellent vid! Stayed at the Hilton by the river and walked all the bridges. Used Grab for the first time for cheap get around town mobility. Only caveat was the humidity/heat sweating like a hog when exploring on foot. I'll be back soon.
Thanks!!! Great experience despite the heat/humidity! Loved that you walked all the bridges!!! Welcome back soon!!!

Just subscribed, liked and watched all commercials haha. I moved here less than a week and found a place in An Thuong 30, your video is great I enjoyed it much and learned a lot.
Hahaha, cool! Real cool!!! Thanks so much for and best of luck with your move to Danang!!!
New sub. Excellent video. Just returned from a week in Da Nang and Hoi An. Explored a few of the districts you covered. Although the beach is spectacular it also naturally draws loads of tourists. Prices for food, drink and accommodation are higher here. I’m looking to spend 3 months per year in beautiful Da Nang. I would prefer the west side of the Han river area. Loved it! Bamboo 2 bar is a great location with riverfront and bridge view, cheap beer, good food and great background music. Beer Garden nearby is good too. More locals. The city is very clean, the traffic is not outrageous, the air quality is good. I love Da Nang! ♥️
Thanks very much and appreciate you sharing your positive experience with everyone! Danang welcomes you back anytime!!!
Very informative and is extremely well prepared and presented !

New subscriber here, excellent and informative video. Absolutely agree with you about having multiple options and slow travel, there are many benefits to the lifestyle, even beyond variety, I just landed here yesterday after 6 years in Thailand, to avoid being a tax resident in that country, I really like the vibe here in Da Nang, it’s friendlier than what I was used to
, and the service is pleasantly better as well.
Thanks very much and really glad you’re enjoying your stay in Danang! Best of luck and safe travels!!!
Your attitude to living/retiring is amazing! Why stay in one place? Awesome!
Thanks so much!!!
Da Nang 🇻🇳 Vietnam is a very beautiful place , I lived about 11 months in Vietnam in 2018 and an amazing video
Cool, thanks very much!!!
Thank you for the video. Only seeing it now, arrived 3 days ago, bought a sim at the airport and had a driver approach me. Shouldn't have done that but i did. Showed him grab price so that he didn't over charge me. Dropped me off at the hotel.
I wouldn't do that in South Africa though.
I love ut here already as there are vegan restaurants, reasonable hotels, and food. Been travelling since January. Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia,Sri Lanka, Malaysia now here. I don't do visa runs as I enjoy every country that I visit.
Thank you for sharing. Great video content.
Thanks very much and I appreciate you sharing your experience. Hoping you enjoy the rest of your visit!
John, great advice! I am retired 4 years now and have been doing the "slow travel" thing, even during Covid a bit... I am settling in on a couple favorite regions and I think I will wind up in places that I like the best in 3 or 4 regions of the world. South America, SE Asia, Eastern Europe and my home, for visiting family in North America. I just arrived here in Vietnam after seeing Phillipines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia. Da Nang has been high on my list for a long time for its affordability, mild climate and central location. Maybe we will run into each other in a couple weeks when I get to that part of the country. Thanks!
Thanks very much for sharing your experience. That’s really great that you’re taking advantage of your freedom and exploring your favorite parts of the world. You’ll never have any regrets!!!
Thank you for your honesty regarding long-term stays. I am somewhat still fluent in Vietnamese (Army Language School in 1964) and 30 months in country as a translator. I am also an amateur Champa researcher so my preference is a hotel next to the Cham Museum, and then for me, trips out toward My-Son and the area between it. My dream is for a 30 days tour of Cham temples, archeological sites, and villages throughout Central Vietnam. If I could retire in Southeast Asia, it would probably be in Cambodia for the travel convenience to Vietnam and the other countries nearby or maybe in Laos.
Thanks for the kind words. Sounds like you have a great plan ahead of you! All the best!!!
I felt compelled to write and tell you that you make a great video. Well thought out and the delivery is top notch. I am ex-navy and would like to travel in the near future. I will be watching your videos.

Hello John. We just got back from almost a month in SE Asia. Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. And was thinking about Da Nang and came across to your video. Perfect timing. I agreed with you about not staying one place but explore others countries before you settle down. Great video. Thank you.
Thanks so much, and I’m glad you had a great trip!!!
Your statement about needing to stay in one place all the time resonated with me. I'm an expat living in the Philippines for the last 5 1/2 years and have a desire to travel around and see other places. It's around the 08:27 timestamp. Thanks.
That’s great!!! Explore and enjoy every moment you have a chance to travel!!! You’ll never regret it!!!
Wisest thing I’ve heard. I thought the same. I’m based with my own home in Taiwan as a British Expat retired with my wife (55). No responsibilities. I plan to spend 1 month travelling to Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, Korea, Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand. In my career I’ve been to 39 countries. I don’t need a cruise. 1 month is enough in each. Sand, sea, nightmarkets, there all the same. Then return to base each time. Travelling from here to reach country is short haul and cheap.
Thanks! Sounds like you have found the key to enriching travel and a fulfilling life!
I'm glad I found your channel! I'm an expat by nature of my career. Formetly a frequent international traveler. Now retired, but still have the wanderlust. I've been to VN a few times, but not Da Nang. It's now on the list! Great video, btw. 👍

John, what you said about changing this mental blockade in your head, and instead of staying in ONE ( does not matter how " idyllic") place on your retirement, stay three months or even two , and then move to another interesting location. My plan for retirement ( very soon:-) is to make " slow travel loops" . One of those " loops" will be : Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malesia, Philippines. Second " loop" Armenia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Albania. Third one ( but not the last) will be : Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Costa Rica. Overall, this mode of travel makes much more sense than staying in one place ( for me). Btw. Great video , very informative , even though I was in Vietnam , also DaNang year ago.
Thanks so much! I
Love your “travel loop” ideas. You’ll collect some of the most amazing memories and have a much deeper connection with humanity in my opinion than you ever possibly could by planting yourself in one place. Best of luck with everything!!!
@@iamjohnsaboe Thank you!
I should mention that I will document my slow travel loop experience with my YT videos :-) . I created my chanel @backpackingbold , one year ago but it was more to learn how to edit videos , so quality is far from what I would like to see , and what I hope to achieve, starting full time travel life style and posting regularly. …and it makes me even more appreciate your videos quality and I see how much work and time it took you to create it.

Hello John,
Great guide to the city, I’ve travelled quite a lot in the country over the last few years and Da Nang is definitely my favourite place. I like to stay near to Đỗ Bá and I think you captured the atmosphere of the area pretty well. That said I love to walk and have explored most of the central wards, it was fun to see so many places I recognise, it triggered many fond memories. I have walked over the three bridges while heading to the Vin Plaza and Lotte Mart supermarkets in search of staples for my kitchen. Glad to see you covered the quiet and wonderful point on the beach out by the Pullman, what a great spot to build sand castles and play in the surf.
Thanks so much for sharing your fond memories. These moments will always be cherished! Do hope you make it back sometime soon!
