Just ordered their 2 regular cd's. As a Hendrix, Meter, War, JB's & Mothers Finest addict, I just can't resist these guys. Happy to hear they're still alive & playing loud!
This is one of the main example how music success is only under the fucking rule of the lucky. Never heard these wonderful guys until today. I made the day.
I was in high school when this came out. And as a kid that formed a black rock band, they (along with The Chambers Brothers, War and Funkadelic) made us feel validated. We were just funkin' for fun!🤘🏾
"the psych funk of black merda," one of the most slept-on records of all time. raw, dirty funk rock, almost has a proto punk energy. insane how good they sound playing it live 40 years later(!). that little outro is fantastic, doesn't appear on any recorded version to my knowledge, but a perfect conclusion. i first found this record a decade ago and still listen to it. bangers galore, check it out.
@earthisancient I'm surprised you weren't hip to these cats, you being from the D and all! Not that I was aware of them either. I was just much in the dark as everybody else. You know we were caught up in the LC haze!
