- The Spartan Race is heading to Seattle for the Seattle Super, another qualifying race on the #RoadtoTahoe for the Spartan Race Elites. Snohomish County, Seattle hosts stop number three of five in the 2019 US National Series.
Nicole Mericle is undefeated in the series so far, will she be stopped?
Veejay Jones looks to stir things up in the standings for the men.

Great coverage! Compared to last year you guys took a huge step forward, but editing could use some improvement. How could you not show VJ and Kent fail the z wall?? Maybe consider split screen for key moments so we don’t miss obstacle fails and passes. Looking forward to running and watching big bear!

It was a fantastic race! By the end of the day: the walls, ropes, bars, foot holds, every step of the course was ALL caked with mud, which really upped the difficulty level. Hard to do a Herc hoist when squeezing the rope and having mud ooze our of it and grind the hands. It would be great to see some of these amazing athletes run the course at the end of the day and see how times and obstacle success rates change. It would be the equivalent of determining a handicap in golf.
Makes crossfit look like a walk in the park!! (Sorry!!) I like crossfit also, but these races are on another level! I hope your paying those camera men well. There's these things they have now called drones you know!! Just kidding...great job!!

Wow, the course looked completely different at 1:15pm same day. I was surprised to see there was actually grass on that first hill. I'm curious how the times would have differed for them all if they ran the course at the end of the day. From a trail condition standpoint, it was the muddiest Spartan I ever ran.

I did Super on Saturday, anyone know why they didnt do 8 ft wall this year?
They also didn't have 'over, under, through'.
They don't have every obstacle at every race. My guess is it was a choice of the course designer to not include it at this race.
I did the 8 ft. wall and it was in this video about 1:01. You must have been delirious too. Tough race but good experience

This was awesome.. But I wish the commentators would have talked about the course conditions at least a little bit.. Let us know if things are slippery or mucky. Additionally, I would like to have heard something about whether cold hands are a benefit or a disadvantageand why.
They always talk about cold hands and the difficulty of doing obstacles with cold hands - put your hands in a bucket of iced water for 5 mins and try using them and you will understand the issue
Good show as always however one comment of commentator I would like to correct: Average or even fit woman's bodyweight to strength ratio not even close to men. For example any lean unfit man can do a number of chin-ups and twenty or so pushups. Most, even fit, women cannot do one of either. I am also a powerlifting fan and for the same bodyweight, the men's records are much, much higher. This does not take from the women though as they are incredible athletes.
No I doubt if many lean unfit men could do 20 push ups in one go unless they were used to doing push ups and they would do few chin ups. And you are underestimating what fit fit women can do - just look at female gymnasts

Spartan races just does not seem to have any fun obstacles really. Its more of a trail run.

Because the most fit man will always be superior to the most fit woman. That isn’t sexism, its biology. Nothing more, nothing less.
some of the obstacles are boring and sometime dangerous .....
you don't abruptly stop to carry a heavy atlas stone .....or lift a tractor tire after a long run ......its unhealthy for your heart ..... and those bucket carry too .....very, very dangerous for those unathletic ......
spear throwing ? boring ......those spears are light ......change to shot put instead .....those have weights ......
Can you stick a shot put in a hay bale? Also this is an ocr not xc.
