Halo is pretty much the only reason I still have an Xbox. If MS really wants me to go to their competitors, then they are doing a damn fine job.

That's the main thing I don't get how people completely miss the obvious issue. Exclusives make the console. If you have just pure 3d party multiplatform games then there's no point on getting that console. If I can just buy my favorite console that has the same game or go straight to PC with all max power and performance it claims to have.

A remaster would be pointless since its already happened and that would make me completely uninterested. They remake Halo CE in Unreal Engine 5 with mind boggling graphics and stay faithful to the story while adding to it, they got my money.

@@DeFrizzy 343 killed the halo mcc for me. I had some fun with friends playing again but the overall experience feels off.
You have extreme sbmm, map choice is really bad. Weapon spots got changed several times. You dont have persistent lobbys where you can choose the next map and the servers run way worse than back then.
Overall while it is nice to have the ability to still play this game on pc, it feels like they downgraded anything else surrounding the game.
How is it possible that a modern remake of a game has less features than the original one?
I personally dont mind that other people will be able to experience Halo. I just want to see more halo stories that aren't about the Master Chief.

Make a graphical remaster of Halo 3 with 2024/25 graphics. Produce a trailer, crowd will go nuts.
Make literally any fucking spin-off. An ODST-themed HellDivers-esque game would be cool, there's still potential while Sony is messing up HD2. Crowd would, again, go nuts.
But for some reason we are expected to clamor about a 20+ year old game coming to a competing console? Or for some free gun charms related to a tv show? Guh.
Not saying 343i is innocent but many of the things you said likely have to be approved by Microsoft. And if I remember right Microsoft has shut down many ideas from 343 that could’ve helped halo.
Just port the entire MCC to the Playstation...that way there will actually be a population to play BTB on Combat Evolved's servers for a few months. Cross-platform servers like in Sea of Thieves. I'm tired of sitting in CE lobbies for 45 minutes just for one match or none at all. 343 squandered the first 4 years of MCC's matchmaking lifecycle and I want at least a sliver of it back.

No this is fucking ridiculous. It’s the only reason for people to switch to Xbox. I’m already familiar, have had both consoles from the start, and have ALWAYS preferred Xbox’s UI’s and all. Please don’t give Halo to PlayStation. Getting both consoles is NOT that hard. Even as a kid, I had a legal guardian instead of parents. One grocery store 20 hour part time check would buy me one used console on Craigslist, eBay, or even a pawnshop. When I finally broke and bought my Series X and PS5 after years of not gaming, it was the thought of playing Halo. I don’t want the Xbox brand to die as a result though.

Xbox should give up making consoles if they plan on making halo multi platform
They are still going to make Hardware however the next Xbox is most likely going to be like the steam deck where it plays both console and Steam PC games. The next console is going to have something that the PlayStation 6 will not do and will give players more access to PC games. If the steam deck a less powerful console can play nearly all PC games on a more affordable device then I'm pretty sure a more powerful console like the next Xbox will probably be a beast and players will be able to play Total War and other PC exclusives on the next Xbox.

@@MiguelRodriguez-lp9et I middle of Texas and in all 12 locations where I live in the center of Texas I even travel to different towns and cities and all the Xbox series X consoles have been sold out and I found out why ever since it was announced that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 was going to be on game pass suddenly sales of the Xbox series X, I've been struggling to try to find an Xbox series X where I live so I had to resort to using the Xbox store to buy one. The Call of Duty effect is starting to get people into Game Pass more and if Game Pass is a more affordable alternative then I think that Call of Duty might be Xbox's solution to replacing Halo.

At this point I don’t really care. I love halo been playing it since CE came out on mac. I just don’t care where it is. I just want people to have fun and play games they enjoy with those they care about and want to share their time with. Which matches up at least with what phil & Xbox have stated and advertised for years at this point. Honestly I’m tired of the console wars and its run-off problems/opinions. Anyone who wants to jump ship I say go ahead as long as you are actually enjoying gaming.
Halo CE would make ZERO sense to remaster/remake...we already have one...granted it's 13 years old and not that great - it exist. We have not seen any remaster or remake treatment for Halo 3 which is hands down the most played Halo on the MCC and typically the favorite MP among fans of the franchise. I really hope we get a H3 remaster or remake, that would be HYPE!
I am not hyped for a halo 3 remaster at all. They will f it up. So instead waisting ressources on a game which will never achive the same as the original game, they should focus on new content.

@@davidguevara9317 absolutely. For me a remake is only necessary if the original game is so outdated that you cant play it on modern systems or if it is really really old and ugly. A good example is the system shock remake.
You can still play the original, but it is so old and clumsy that no one would play it without nostalgia reasons.
A remake should have some benefits to it and not just "hey guys we know you loved this game, so wen made it a bit more shiny but added microtransactions to it and made it even more buggy"

It shouldn’t be on PlayStation as an Xbox exclusive, I’d have no reason to stay on Xbox. It’s a 25 year old game if true so I’m not impressed or hyped for another remake solely because it’s unreal engine, and this also tells me 343 doesn’t have a creative bone in their body and they’re drained for content and story arcs because every story they have released beyond Halo 4 has been complete and utter shite. It better be M rated going forward for the flood.

I am intrigued on what the next Xbox is going to be....I do you like the idea of the next Xbox being able to play both console and PC games from the comfort of your couch now that steam is confirmed for the next Xbox. More accessibility is a win for everybody really. This is a feature that I wish PlayStation had but we know Play Station would never allow Steam on their platform, I guess Xbox will have to make the next leap instead of PlayStation giving us access to both console and PC games.
Yeah maybe thats possible. Would actually make sense. On a technical level, the Xbox OS is only a virtual container inside a Windows OS.
So basically Windows is running on every xbox. The same vice versa on pc. When you play xbox games on a pc, windows creates xvd drives which are containers where the hardware of a xbox gets emulated and the game runs in.
So the natural development is that at some point we get native support of pc games on the xbox.
You can hate the windows ecosystem but this would actually be really cool and a big selling factor for their Console.

I am currently a PS5 owner, but back in the day I previously owned the original Xbox and played Halo 2 almost every single day. When the Xbox 360 came out, I played nothing but Halo 3 and some Gears of War. A lot of PS5 owners nowadays are former Halo players on the Xbox. It will be a bitter sweet moment for me if Halo makes it's way to PlayStation.
The reason I traded my Xbox Series X for the PS5 is because MCC had ridiculous wait times on MCC, I once sat in queue for a Halo 2 comp game for ever 2 hours!! And got no where. Bringing Halo to PlayStation will revive the golden era of Halo, like we used to play back in the early to mid 2000s/2010s!
Could this be the turning point for halo, the start of a new great journey for the franchise.

If more people are able to play Halo, then it means we might get more Halo games in the future! Halo on PC was one of the best things they did, and if i can play with my friends over at Playstation, then that would be a massive W. This could be good, if just one halo game went to other consoles it could peak the interest of other players who don't have an Xbox and depending on the halo game or games that go onto other consoles we could see a potential rise in players for halo. Though I do agree that halo should remain an exclusive or at least mostly exclusive im not apposed to seeing halo game on other consoles. (Though it would be really weird to see)

It’s a bitter sweet feeling. It’s sad that Xbox has went so far downhill that we’re actually at this point with Halo, but maybe if Microsoft loosens their grip on Halo a little by putting it on other consoles it will allow it to truly flourish once more.
At this point, I'm actually just a Halo fan. I like Xbox, but Halo is the last hope.
I'm convinced the only way forward for Microsoft is to release a "gamer's variant" of Windows to compete directly with Steam OS (but with better compatability, being a variant of Windows), making Xbox consoles effectively a *baseline* PC standard for developers to aim for.
Anything less than that, such as this half-hearted approach to a console ecosystem where Microsoft's IP are still released on the PS5 or Switch, is quite simply going to drive away Xbox fans and kill the brand overall.
They should make spinoff halo games for playstation and the main story with master chief stay on Xbox
If they are doing a Halo 3 Anniversary, they got to do it right! Halo 2 Anniversary is their Gold Standard. Anything less would be a shame and a waste of money.

This seems pretty pointless and could negatively affect profits or views of halo in a unique way.
Remember a game is also about profits, there would be a plan as to why Halo CE is being remade, this is in effect possibly marketing so that IF this is good, new buyers who see halo for the first time will buy all the sequels and thus more profit. As much as people want halo 3 anniversary, it wouldnt bring as many potential new buyers who don’t know the halos series well, it will just bring in current and past fans.
Starting of with a new and flashy Halo 1 give potential for people to buy the other halos as they experience from the start.
This has issues though. I’m fine with Halo CE, but it is an older game so it has flaws. They are going to have to modify the gameplay much more to get it going. Some flaws in some cases can be seen, like the library in the campaign for example, as well as the level repetition. After replying Halo CE, there is a notable stronger repetition with blandness to it in multiple levels. Besides that looking at the library, this repetition and blandness drags onto the combat, some people argue that the library is “immersive” but it is boring with little change and complexity. If say Halo 2 or so forth Flood AI was incorporated, it would make the gameplay much more different and interesting as the flood wouldn’t charge like a blind horde, however this may possibly go against lore since the flood outbreak is still small here.
All this would force gameplay changes, but even then, level design was meh, playing Halo CE reminded me why I liked and remembered Halo 2 and Halo 3 more, they may have had their flaws but unlike Halo CE they learnt very well and avoided horrendous repetition.
Getting new buying and introducing them was a graphically beautiful but design wise flawed game would be a problem, especially for getting a good view and spread of halo.
Halo CE was great for its time, but as time passes, some flaws show as things better and succeeding games learn from past mistake.
If this is a graphical update, it’s pointless and detrimental.
If it’s changing many aspects about the game, there is potential as I can see new buyers who have never seen halo getting interested visually and gameplay wise to further be incentivized to get halo 2, then 3, then the rest.

If they really wanted to bank off of bungie again, why not make Halo 3 Anniversary? Its long past the 10 year mark and would probably be more popular than halo 1 & 2 anniversary. Its especially astounding that theyre making a remake of a remake of an actually good halo game

If 343 begins to remake the entire Bungie saga one by one, that could be the perfect training for the team, recapturing all the essence of Halo in its glorious days and so they can be ready to give the perfect continuation to the master chief story and the halo universe, that would be a master strategy
Honestly 343 Industries really can't give Play$tation Combat Evolved without giving them the entire Master Chief Collection. It's simply flat out wrong. And Nintendo doesn't want either companies' IPs on their platforms just as I'm fairly certain neither does $ony. This isn't about getting GamePass on every screen possible, everyone being OK with rival platforms receiving our exclusives just because we already have it so more can play, or doing away with exclusivity. It''s about brand recognition/reputation. If XBox does this, say bye bye to (XBox) the brand because *exclusivity grows* the brand in ALL industries. Whether this is a Phil Spencer decision or Satya Nadella decision, it's COMPLETELY NAIVE AND STUPID. They are BOTH going about growing XBox in the WRONG way when only the brand itself needs exclusives.
Additional note, IF XBox keeps this crap messaging up, I'm DONE with XBox. I'll go right back to (my) NINTENDO (back-catalog) right where I started (Atari 2600 1st ever aside, owned every Nintendo except VirtualBoy) and have remained loyal up to late Nintendo 64, because honestly, even $ony has only had barely anything good to offer since Play$tation 1 to this very day.

I don't mind halo on ps5 I just want halo 3 anniversary or just a new halo. A remake of halo 1 would be goated because the game feels dated already, that issue is not a thing with halo 2 or 3.

If they remake all the games in a new engine starting with halo ce they could reuse most of the interchangeable assets from infinite to speed up game development and add cool additions that were cut or not in the original story like alpha base and Fireteam Raven. Plus they could copy mcc and release the other campaigns as standalone titles like odst using the same engine or simply release them as dlc adding the sandboxes of each game to one big multiplayer sandbox as they are developed if they actually keep note on how they build the game they might be able to make actual updates and additions to the game
