I finally upgraded my gaming monitor! This LG panel is awesome! #LGMonitorInsiders - (I purchased this monitor at a discount in return for my honest opinion.)
Just snagged a like new one for $135.99 plus tax at a local pawn shop. Replaced my son’s LG 27” 1080p 240hz. Same charger and stand mounts. Was a easy swap out as his 27” was mounted to the wall. Put the 27” on this slightly taller stand. I still prefer ultrawides like 21:9 or 32:9 as 16:9 feels so narrow compared to my Samsung 49” 32:9.
Fantastic find! I’m still loving mine after a year now; no complaints whatsoever. I’m sure it’s a bit odd for you if you’re used to those ultrawide panels!
Just bought this monitor yesterday and plugged it in and turned it on and screen lights up but shows nothing… somebody told me to do a hard reset? Did anybody else have this problem
Thanks for the overview. I've got one on pickup at Best Buy. I'm debating as the Odyssey G7 32" is on sale today for a little bit more. How are you liking it 1 week later?
No complaints at all; It's a fabulous monitor. As I mention in the review, it is a big monitor, and that has taken a little while for me to get used to - still love it!
@@cesarsstuff5099 I have seen reviews showing the G7 with equal to, or worse, backlight bleed (Reddit) than this panel. I think either monitor would be fine, but I don't think I would pay more for the G7 all things being equal. Thanks for commenting!
Just ordered, be here tomorrow....going from a 34in curved acer. its nice, but in games it stretches everything on the sides and it gets a little annoying...plus the black bars when trying to watch youtube or something. Also first ips panel...hopefully it works out.
Congrats on the purchase! I've always been a little scared of getting a curved monitor - I don't have a actual reason to be scared of them, but for some reason I am... :D I hope you enjoy the new panel!
@@firelight70 just got it going...its tripping me out. Im so used to a curved that it almost looks like its convex in the center? It'll take some adjusting
I’d probably go for the largest size you can since it’s for a PS5. If you were getting one for a PC, I would say either is fine (and the 27” would be easier to fit onto a desk).
Mine doesn't look foggy, and I've had it for more than a year now. If you can, plug a different monitor into your computer to make sure it looks clear. If so, then I guess contact LG to see what needs to be done.
@@firelight70 I'm using it on a PS5 and it won't let me adjust any of the gamma or anything like that but I've been told I need to switch to the DP instead of the HDMI
Thank you! I don't have a PS5, so I asked my brother who does for advice. He confirmed what I was thinking, and said the 32" would be better. I figured the bigger the better for the PS5, so the 32" would be better.
Just picked up yesterday - was an upgrade to an older HP Omen 32 75Hz monitor. Very happy so far with the monitor. Uhm, how do you turn on HDR or does that go on automatically based on the content? Thanks!
It is a great monitor, for sure! I chose the setting found under the "Display" heading for control panel in Windows (right click the desktop and choose "Display Settings" - second from the bottom choice). In roughly the middle of the properties page is a heading for "Windows HD Color" and a slider to turn it on or off. I set my to on (obviously). When checking the "Advanced display settings" at the bottom of the page (click it), it shows that my 32" panel is using HDR, whereas my 24" panel (pictured in the video) shows SDR as it is not capable of HDR. My exact situation right now. Just got the bestbuy email and I'm seriously considering buying this. Now that you've had it a while, do you feel it was a solid upgrade?
@@farson69 it's the best monitor I've ever been had - mine is mated to a 3080 gpu and am running all games at 165hz - extremely fluid and the colors are spot on - i would recommend it for sure - buy it and not worry about it for several years 👍
I am not sure as I do not have access to a ps5 to try it out. My total guess is that it would not upscale to 4k, but I just no way of testing it. Best of luck.
@@firelight70 I can change ps5 settings to 2160 and my monitor is saying it’s displaying that, but it also says it doesn’t support that. Will that hurt the monitor screen over time? I don’t mind 1440pz
@@SlabbyMess I'm not 100% sure if it would damage anything long term, however I probably wouldn't do it since it is giving you that warning. I've always been the type to play is safe though.
The monitor does have a headphone Jack on the back, so I guess you could get away with some small powered speakers hooked up to that. I much prefer running speakers straight from the PC, and have done that for years now.

I did not have this issue. If you haven’t already, use a know good cable and try a different port (HDMI or DP). Good luck!

I say get the g7 I have one and mine has a lot of backlight bleed on the corners but still very good video review

Make sure for 32" monitors that their aspect ratio is 16:9 Due to Consoles doesn't support anything above that monitor wise.
