    Matt it's amazing how you've made yourself into both a scratch and a mid handicapper in order to provide reviews for both of those type of golfers. Keep up the awesome work!

    Unbelievable how you can review a ball in two completely different ways for multiple types of golfers. 👊🏻 Absolutely love it!

  • @chrisp7729
    @chrisp7729 2 года назад +11

    Other reviews I saw were complaining about the lack of spin in the mid irons compared to a top tier ball. I like how you put it into perspective where it's really a feature depending on what spin you are looking for.
    Also your slower swing speed when right handed makes your reviews much more watchable comparatively to others. It's great to see how balls perform when used by someone who gets close to pro numbers and then see immediately after how it actually relates to my higher handicap game.

    Thanks for the right handed numbers! I have been playing this ball very pleased with the performance! I am a mid handicap, 71 year old, one of the longer hitters in my club!

    Really like the pace of talk vs shots. Other channels tend to do a lot of talking and rows of numbers. Really love how you cut right to the point even though you can talk numbers as well as anyone

    Nice review Matt. I am a Titleist fanboy and played a Tour Soft for a long time. Zero backspin with wedges. One round with a TM TR was enough to convince me to make the switch.

    Best putting alignment on a ball period. You can watch the ball roll for instant visual feedback on strike and super easy to line up. I hate alignment aids on the putter head but love this ball.

    Matt, can't really relate to your left hand swing numbers, BUT your right hand swing numbers are very similar to mine, AWESOME that you are able to do this! I used the Tour Response Stripe for the first time last week, SOLD! the alignment stripe is a great tool for me needing all the help with putting I can get, it works well! Please keep the video's coming, GREAT JOB!

    I picked up a sleeve of the stripe the other day for putting practice. I think they are fantasic for putting. They showed my basic address and ball striking were way off. I've got my first round coming up on Sunday, can't wait to try them in a real round. I am a bit concerened about the strip on iron shots though.

  • @ebenada

    Thanks for review! I have been playing the TR Stripe for about a month now. Really do like the alignment aid! As a newer golfer who's swing has just gotten consistent this year, I like the TR performance, and helps with not being too "spin-ny" when I'm not striking well, but also performs excellent when I'm having a swing day! DIdnt realize you have content outside of TXP...will tune in more!

    Matt I just recently switched to the tour response with the stripe on it and have to say that my putting has improved tremendously. The visual you get when setting it up on your start line is second to none. Great spin around the greens and I fall in to the category of spinning the ball to much so and reduction in spin has been a welcome treat.

  • @MrJoeKneale

    I love this ball! I’m a mid swing speed golfer, it knocked 250rpm off my stock drive, and I gap much better now in the mid to long irons than I did with Pro v1. The TM tour response spins and grabs great around the green and it feels amazing. It’s not a budget ball, but for urethane it’s a bargain.

    One of the best and most honest reviews of this ball. I'll see if it can kick the Pro V1 out of my bag next round. I always like to mess with gear. My swing speed is between your righty and lefty. Great job! Cheers!

  • @keithkatz1350

    Senior player gapping is similar to your righty swing almost through 8 then drops off keep going back to this ball since it came out plays as well as pro v1 and tp5 for me longer with the driver than pro v same as tp5 the new ones with the big strip are incredible even if u use them just for practice putting. Great job as always Matty

    The Pro V1 is usually my go to. Almost the perfect ball. The Pro V1x is what I should play and it is just too clicky and firm feeling/ sounding off my clubs. The Tour Response is just as soft or a touch softer than the Pro V1 with literally almost identical performance for me. I can’t tell the difference and I have an above average swing speed. Not as fast as Matt but I’m close. Really good testing here

    @leonardfarmer2915 2 года назад

    I drive with the TP5 Pix and use the Tour response strip on the green. I'm finally deadly from the tee box to the bottom of the cup. That strip does more for alignment than any aid on the putter itself. The Stripe is much better over simply drawing a line on your ball. When I putt now, I can actually see the wobble from an off center stroke vs when my stroke is perfect.

    This shows how important a proper ball fit can be. The low-spin iron section makes me think back to the Project X LS 7.0 video you did with TXG a few months ago. While that shaft DID provide the results as advertised, you can save $250+ on NOT making a shaft change and $10 per dozen by just making a ball change

    I basically only play the TP5, and tried this ball out on a whim, and obviously don't have access to the tech you guys have, but I know what I feel. The ball is different than the TP5. I'm not sure how, but it does not feel the same. Neither off the face or in the hand. And that feel is the reason I play the tp5. Its what I fell in love with.
    That's the best I can offer, just my completely unscientific opinion. But still, that's enough for me to stick with TP5s. I can get them used super cheap, and its much harder to find the Tour Reponse anywhere near that same price, so its a no brainer for me.

Get them with a mix of non urethane balls from time to time but I usually take the non urethane to the club and they're pretty cool will let me swap them when I can find something like tpx 5 or chrome soft occasional pro v that may have a crack or 2 on the cover. Same question about these balls--the class of 3-piece urethane balls right under the tour balls--who are they for? We know they cost a little less, but forget that for a moment. Do we lose some performance? Do we gain some? Where?
    I'm impressed that you're getting similar results to a tour ball. But what about the rest of us?
    I know these are broad questions with individual implications, but it would be interesting to know what the manufacturers say so we can decide whether or not to find out for ourselves.
    I played 9 holes with it recently. My driver speed is 97mph and my 8-iron speed is 84. I didn't see much difference off the tee or with approach shots. But I did feel it failed to spin enough when chipping and pitching. But that was from a very brief observation, and not done with head-to-head comparisons. I could be very wrong.
    The real value is putting. I've played the Triple Track, the Divide, and now the Stripe. The Stripe is the only one that I felt made a material improvement with putting.
    Your right-handed numbers really helped, Matt. Thanks for that.

I liked the feel off wedges and putter, irons were ok, driver didn't feel great for me. also, putting with the stripe is awesome but hitting it off a tee I didn't like. the stripe is pretty wide, and tried lining it up in the direction I was trying to hit but it wasn't the best alignment aid for me again. overall good ball for the money and performed as I wanted it too.
