I had a great week up here, two PBs, Thumping mofo Bream, "Black Bass," Hhahaaha and the Stonkingest Salmon on 3Kg with My brand new 9'6" Daiwa seabass rod which was fresh from Freddys tackle, cast a Wriggler Prawn a mile, snapped it the same afternoon I scored it, spewing already.

Mullet gut is awesome bream bait fresh unfrozen gut is deadly on bream best bream I've ever caught was 54 cm ! I used a whole piece from a huge mullet ! The hard onion was as big as a golf ball ! The soft gutty part was very thick and long 15 cm or so. There was so much structure where I was fishing outside and in the water. Heaps of muscle beds ! Used a 7 foot Shimano snapper overhead rod with a Sweedish made Abu Garcia 6000 overhead reel with 20 pound platypus line. Had no sinker just a Mustad 3/0 suicide hook. Let out lots of line after casting that gut bait was so easy to cast ! Saw the rod make a slight twitch, picked it up and waited reel in free running. Waited for ages then slowly wound up the slack and then like a torpedo this bream took off ! Had to give it lots of stick to get it away from a wall going out into the water and steer it away from muscles! Got it to the top and I started shaking in so much excitement seeing the size of this absolute cracker! This bream was whacking it's tail very hard on the water never had a bream do this before. Saw blood coming out got him in ! Couldn't get over the size for a while ! This cracker bream had hit that massive mullet gut in one go ! 20 cm of line was down inside the beast ! I decided to keep it because it would of died. When I opened it up to clean it, had 3 half unbroken muscle shells in there ! Haven't caught any more monsters like this! 6 years later, I've caught 6 50 to 51 cm fish. Mullet gut makes it's own burley. I've caught snapper, flathead, tarwhine, mud crabs, blue swimmer crabs and Jewfish with it. Very good bait at night for flathead, bream and even a jewfish. Biggest Jewfish caught on this dynamite bait 15 kg. When that Jewfish took off it burnt my thumb in free spool on a lever drag reel ! Like catching heaps of different fish but just love fishing for bream !
