for ones that modify items in-game like advanced netherite, yes they will need to. theyll need to download forge alongside your mods (theyll need to do what you did basically)
This only works for client-side mods as far as I can tell, so each person will need to download the mod. The good news is you only need to copy/paste client mods into the folder, you don't need to edit your save file or anything 😊

Only client side mods (!). I watched the whole video hoping.. you could have mentioned it in the title.. You dont need to do any lf these world backup/upload procedure to use client side mods in a realm, either you're the owner or not. Just download Forge, your mods, (the usual thing), and play in the realm.

Java realms just have a vanilla server,only mods that change the mechanics of the game work, and that glass mod only appears in the inventory in creative, you can't pick it up and put it somewhere.

When I make a backup and switch it back to realms. The mods just doesn't work somehow. For an example JEI mods says "you need to have mods for this server"
Yes it downloads the mods. HOWEVER you can't use the extra blocks in realms unfortunately. It will immediately disconnect you. It doesn't matter if the owner downloads it or not. Now with the map and mouse tweaks, those are client side. Therefore they do not affect the realm. Unfortunately if you really want "mods" in your realm you would have to use bedrock. Bedrock has the marketplace that you basically buy and download mods to add to your worlds.
I tried downloading better minecraft modpack and draging all of its mods to the forge mod folder to try to transfer it to my realm but it crashed my launcher? Does anyone know how I can get the better Minecraft modpack to my realm server?
Do not extract the zip, right click and open it with java binary, in case it doesnt work just uninstall all of the forge and java versions and try again

You'll only be able to work with client mods with realms. The server mods (that change the gameplay/values) aren't supported by windows :/ you can still copy/paste client mods (like inventory/mouse tweaks) into your mods folder for usability though!

depends on if its a clients side mod (graphics ect)

the only mods that work is the ones that dont affect the world, like ouse tweaks only lets you do stuff that affects you but not the enironment
Mouse tweaks isn’t a mod, it’s like a resource pack or just extra controls, falling trees has lots of data that doesn’t wanna transfer to a realm

I’m not sure about pixelmon on a realm, but if you want to try it for 1.20.2 then your forge version has to be that as-well.

For realms, only client side mod works, so not everyone needs to add it to their folders.

FWIW you can quite literally just copy/paste the files into the mods folder & start your game
