    I've always been movement brained. Started way back with rocket jumping in TF2 before adding surf to my skillset, so airstrafing is easy peasy to me. That being said, the weird velocity gaining, jumping right on edges, and strafing for distance/speed gain rather than just direction wasn't. KZ is definitely a beast to get into, but it's also very applicable to general gameplay with just the basics.

    tip: before you jump look 45 degrees to the side press w and the strafe key depending on your strafe direction, as soon as you jump let go of w and continue strafing, gives you like 15 extra velocity to start of with. you did it on accident sometimes in this vid and it did help

    Great work. I had almost the same journey with the same struggles. Started from can't finish KZ map because of ladder and ended up with finishing it in 3 mins in 1 week with practicing about 30 mins a day. Very good thing to do. After that I made all CSGO jumps that are was not able to make. Now I can make short jump from window even backwards. Then I went and learned how to bhop and surf. Bhop it's very precision game on most maps with high speed. I made some initial progress but this was not for me overall. But in surf I struggled because of settings. So please not try no surf on vanilla settings as me :)

    as someone who practices movement a lot as well, a crucial piece of advice i can give you is that sometimes you need to strafe a lot less than you think you do. some of these difficult skill jumps on competitive maps like the inferno selfboosts only need 2 or so strafes (half wall, planter jump on a balcony), and its all about your sync and like launders said, timing the jump as late as possible. the inferno b selfboost is still foreign to me because i don't use it much but i find the sweet spot at like 3 or 4 strafes. on top of this id still recommend using space bar to jump for regular skill jumps, and then utilising mousewheel specifically for bhopping. ladder strafes are shitty and id love to give some advice but its hard to convey in text without a visual aid. great video 👍👍👍👍👍

I'm decent at B-hopping now but not consistent by any means. I can make the inferno skill jump from balcony but also not the one in B site. I've only made the Window to Cat jump on Mirage once. Peeking is movement. Pathing through the map in ways that dont expose you is movement. Getting to positions in timely manner is movement. Not getting caught on corners when in a rush is movement. Not blocking teammates is movement.
    Don't limit "smovement" to fancy looking skill jumps - its as fundamental as moving your body through the world in a controlled and intentional way!

You look straight forward a lot when moving around, but it's actually easier and much smoother when jumping around etc. when looking a little bit downwards. If you notice movement of pros or just generally people doing kz, then you will see they look a little bit down and not so much straightforward.

    Got over 1000+ hours in KZ. Saying that it's an easy kz map is wrong. It's easy for someone who've already learned kz'ing.
    Going on a KZ server, you got Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Hard, Very Hard, Extreme, Death difficulties.
    With a lot of struggle you can complete a Very Easy map. Easy maps you "might" be able to complete. Mediums are near impossible unless you've learned some of the basics, as it's likely there's either some bhop or LJ sections that requires you to be able to do the basics of strafing, bhopping and prestrafing. The difficulties beyond gets much much worse. A hard map might be easy for a usual KZ'er, but that's because they're already light years ahead of you if you're totally new to even general movements.

  • @ethhics
    @ethhics Год назад

    No idea what it is but movement in CS:GO feels so clunky and slow compared to other games like Half Life 2 and CS:S. it's like the models are too big for the environment they fit in and airstrafing feels like you're going through pudding. This probably is because of the tickrate, which is by default set to 64. Which makes good movement in CS:GO even more impressive. I tried the kz course just now and also got stuck on the ladder, the jumps before weren't really that hard but felt awkward still.
    Nice job on the completion though, idk if im gonna try that again lol
