Wow just wow, the new bomberman games just aren't this good in battle. Now I see why I just never enjoyed so much as this the battle mode, I forgot how well designed is the levels here and the many items and strategies. We need this on Wii VC now!
I still love how there were actual, different sudden death modes in this game, as opposed to just the tiles falling down in an inward spiral. The rising water is probably my favorite, it's easy to lose track of it when you're trying to blow up your friends/CPUs
Even though I still own my N64 and this game, I miss the fuck out of playing this 4 player with my friends! One of the all time best fast paced 4 player modes you could play back then!
Up and Down was my favourite stage. Shame the multiplayer for Bomberman 64 wasn't a patch on the classic games, although customised players was a nice touch.
To unlock the secret multiplayer stages, you must collect all 120 golden cards, definitely NOT an easy task. Thankfully, there Game Shark codes and an alternate method without code device and without the need to collect 120 gold cards. According to the wiki, it says you have to press START rapidly on the main menu. I haven't really done that trick and only used Game Shark to unlock EVERYTHING since I did not want to go through the trouble getting 120 gold cards which I know that sounds ridiculous lol.
From what I see the sudden deaths differ upon the arena type. Arenas in enclosed walled areas have moving walls. Arenas over deep pools of water have rising water. Any other arena type that is in an open area has falling meteors.
the game I have came with all the stages and costumes I didn't work to get anything ,I guess I got lucky but I don't know how to actually use the costumes in battle.anyone know?
@CITLSOL First you need a memory pack for your N64 controller, next go to custom and click (what should be) "copy to game pack" (for some dumb reason mine says "copy FROM game pack") then go to battle mode and turn on custom!
I remember those moments too lol. Like sometimes the game would just fuck everyone over for no reason. There’s one item that’s a purple mask looking thing and gives EVERYONE a negative effect lol
Este modo de batalla si fue bueno a mi me dio muchas horas de divercion, lastima que no era de mi generacion y para mi tiempo este juego era retro y ya avian tachado de malo este bomberman
this was the most fun multiplayer on the N64
This and Conker's Bad Fur Day.

Randomly thought of this game and had to look it up. A real blast from the past. Thanks for sharing!
I remember playing this for hours and hours with my cousins and friends. Man I miss my childhood

Glad I wasn't the only one.
The sound of the skull always had me giggling as a kid, and I loved seeing how sometimes it set you on fire.
I remember playing this with my dad and brother it was so much fun. Now I’m all grown up and thought of this. Dam games have changed so much.

Highlight battle and rhythmically and repeatedly press start super super fast until it makes a sound.
