Best thing about Ortiz's pitching line was that big "0" in the walks column.
The five with an OPS over .700 (Cruz, Gonzales, Joe, McCutchen, Reynolds) have to be in the lineup every day. Since Gonzales arrived on May 10, the Bucs are 13-9 when the five start, 9-11 when one or more don’t. And it doesn’t hurt to add Delay to the mix as he’s sporting a .733 OPS!
Rowdy took yesterday's daily shot personal
Shelton will put suwing-ski in clean up tomorrow...because thats what he does
Even assuming, and I do, that you meant every word you said, you won't convince me that there was no snark ;)
If you're saying this win was a fluke.... I agree.
Guess I'll eat my comments on Rowdy 😂
Hoping the pirates can ride this series win momentum in Atlanta. Planning on seeing Sunday’s game, it’s a tougher venue than Turner Field was considering the recent World Series win and the rebrand. Fingers crossed for a buccos W.
Regarding today's J1Q and the Brewers: the most recent shining example of a briliiant Brewers trade was moving Corbin Burnes and receiving 3B Joey Ortiz as part of the return. Ortiz has been nothing short of phenomenal for the Brewers so far this year, and he's already been a key part of their huge success in his very first season there.
Listening to the Reds radio broadcast yesterday, I learned that this was the 9th time this year that the Reds lost a series after winning the opener.
Its nice to have the manager actually understand the concept of winning for sure and im glad sheton finally sees that theres a good thing going right now and he does not have to play for next year.
I've been critical of Shelton for a good part of the season for not putting together the best lineups in games that REALLY mattered (several losses have been the result).
However -- like DK -- I'll give Shelton and anyone else on the management team credit for showing, through specific decision--making, that they actually wanted and needed to win this series against the Reds. I sure wish that similar decision-making had been utilized when the Pirates played the Cardinals in an earlier series. If new and competitive ways of thinking are going to be implemented by management for the remainder of the regular season, I'm definitely all for it. ✅
Great Daily Shot like always Dejan.
The formula works: good pitching (starter and bullpen) complemented by hits and runs = W! Of course solid defense and smart base running also helps. #RaiseIt!🏴☠️
Thanks DK. I'm hoping that this trend continues and improves. They are winning ! Great show DK
I like Olivares in the lineup better than suwinski. He’s more consistent at the plate and I’ll take that any day of the week over a little bit better defense.
Jack is a Haines casualty. No other explanation for his regression. Put him with an organization like the Yankees and he would rake.
So much talent on this team being wasted. Cherrington needs to go and take Haines with him.
At this point, every win keeps a bad GM, a worse manager, and a somehow even worse hitting coach employed.
Imo I think the Guardians are the new Rays.
The Brewers won the Hader trade, but lost the season from it.
Every game is important in the division !
I think the brewers oddly enough got pushed on the path their on by trying to put the whole braun fiasco behind them. Not that they werent trying to win before that but the wholesome enviorment you mentioned is what i mean, theyre trying and succeding in getting the taste of braun out of the fans mouth.
Why am I up so early? Hi DK!

The next series starting pitchers against Atl are announced: Perez, Skenes, Falter
If they are serious about wining why not put Jones / Skenes/ Keller pitch regularly. Ortiz might be in the conversation now too.
It sounds to me Pirates are going to use a 6 man rotation especially once Marco comes back.
Imo I wouldn't mind seeing Perez or Falter move to the bullpen instead and get rid of Jefferies and Santana.
i love the order because they want skenes to start the mets series and get us going to rebound from that embarassing series first time around
Ortiz our 5th starter?
I love the concept of steak on a stone. Cannot send it back you cooked it 😂😂😂
Im.surprised we didn't have a bullpen game
We did just Ortiz did phenomenal
Interesting how you didn’t mention the rowdy homer DK
You've got to be kidding. Tell me you're kidding. - Dejan
