I really like how certain character combinations have special victory animations, like Mario and Sonic, Mario and Yoshi, and Bowser and Bowser Jr.
I love how they're playing a winter sport on a tropical island.
it's a dream so they can do what ever they want.... in theory

Did they get lazy with this game? There's not that many dream events taking place in Mario and Sonic levels in this game. That's usually what I'm excited for the most
