I got caught out by the "bird meteorites" 2 nights ago, then lo and behold, last night we get a real one! I never thought about looking for the reflection of light in the water to confirm :) great capture 👍
I had heard Meridian news did a piece on this on Monday or Tuesday but i didn't see it and to be honest i had forgotten about it until now. Great capture. Can see it is moving away to the south and to France. Thanks for uploading.
If landed near Morgat (quite near me actually) then I wonder which bit of sea it landed in? Morgat is on the Crozon Peninsular south of Brest. There's bays both north and south (both Biscay) then the English Channel further north.
@@SolentShips But of course Captain! Naturally, I missed this, just like when we had the lightning when I was at the Marina and it struck behind me 😂 Still, you captured a little piece of history here, such an awesome and prominent trail 😁
Hi guys, I'm a reporter at Reach PLC. This is absolutely incredible footage. Could we use the footage across our regional titles? Full credit to yourselves. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
Strange how the pedestrians didn't see that. But that view of the meteor glazing the waterfront is beautiful.
Lol imagine realising it was you walking behind the lorry and missed that sight by a few seconds
Saw this last night from Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire! HUGE, incredible, beautiful!
Just found this channel and was wondering if meteors would show up! well done for this capture
Thanks shipmate. Took a few months to catch a real one.

great capture 👍
I was only saying to someone last week shimpmate, that I will get a report of a Meteorite one day and I'll end up just telling them it was a Seagull.
This needs to go viral!
Thanks shipamte
That was amazing thanks for sharing Captain
Great. Now we'll have to deal with walking plants, on top of everything else.
Better get ready to move to the Isle of Wight then.
I won’t be visiting Hillier’s Arboretum as planned this weekend then 😂
Amazing! 🤩
About time the legalities of this cam view were sorted out ! There are many people wanting this view back online !
Working on it Shipmate

We have tracked it and it landed in the sea off France. Was probably very small, no more than a kilo.
Amazing that so little makes so much light. All that energy travelling at speed I guess.
@@SolentShips Yes indeed. It is a process called "ablation". Much the same as a spacecraft heatshield.

Well done Captain. 👏🏼. Solent Ships has been mentioned on the BBC news app. They have shown the footage too. 😀
Looks like it will be twice on the local news today shipmate
Congratulations Captain, I'm Brazilian, and your footage appeared in a report on a Brazilian TV channel :)
Epic footage,
Wow..great catch 😃
Brilliant footage, 🙋👑
Hey, yeah I like your courage ✌

I bet shipmate
Yeah, yeah ✌

Also spotted this in Brighton last night!

Wow! Amazing! Captain. 👍
Fantastic footage. 💫
Yeah absolutely right 👉
Ayyy this was featured on BBC News! Southampton represent, Captain 😁
I'm the un-official BBC's Port corespondant shipmate.

Working on it shimpmate
Very nice coverage and narration. ☄️
Spotted this looking south west in Dorset, amazing green colour and huge.
An amazing sight, Thank You.
Great reflection on the water too.
Indeed shipmate. I forgot to mention that part.
Saw it in Dawlish .Dawlish beach Cams caught it to
Good catch.
There's a website where you can report these, and if enough people have reported a meteor, you can see over where it entered the at atmosphere.
Sounds great shipmate
That was brilliant 👏👏
Absolutely beautiful! I wonder if it's a late runner from the Perseids meteor shower? Either way, great catch!
I wouldn't know shipmate. I was just amazed.
Wow amazing Cap'n
It was indeed shipamte
Also just seen the same thing on Dawlish Beach cam around that time. Looks like space rubbish
Brilliant Captain 😀
It was brilliant shipmate. Would have been good to have seen it in person
Yup. The 737 MAX is back in service.
Thats awesome!!
That is beautiful
Stunning x
Super bit of footage. Thank you 😊
Landed in your back garden Captain 😀
And those 4 people are completely unaware of it
it was on the BBC news tonight. Great coverage
Very cool capture!
Thanks shipmate
amazing stuff
Cool
Thanks Shipmate
It's a meteor. It's a meteorite when it impacts the ground or whatever it hits, like a house or car.
Landed in France, so they say shipmate.
@@SolentShips I wonder if they will find it. That would be interesting to know.
A bamboo wind chime in the background !!??😆
Amazing!
Thanks shipmate
Why can't we see the ferry terminal again I you to love watching
The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one :)
"He said" shipmate
Brilliant. I wonder where it landed ?
Reports suggest it landed in Morgat, Brittany shipmate
I see it in Oxfordshire! How come? It blew my mind
Suspect it was very high in the sky shipmate
Yes, I'm sure that would be the answer captain. The same reason that many people around the UK can see the ISS when it flies over.

That was great. Thank you for sharing it.
I .................nose .soon
Soon
I am going to see you soon.
You dirty old man. Michael horne ..from Hull. ??????
@@colinmcnamara916 Sir, this comment is totally unnecessary and not pleasant I have no connection with Hull at all.
A meteorite flys by and those people had no idea
Was it the same ticket booth that collapsed today? (seen on the right)
Nice 👍
I’ve seen one hit outside our back garden
That's incerdible shipmate
Wonder if it has been tracked to landing site ?
They did shipmate, landed in Northern France somewhere
We come in peace
First comment! Really cool captain!
And not a seagull this time.
It is a "meteor" not a "meteorite". It is only a meteorite if it survives to land on the ground.
Thanks shipmate. I stand astronically corrected.
Do we know if it survived? 🤔
@@Pooky-Cat unfortunately it died a watery death in the sea off France.
So it made it all the way through the atmosphere to the planetary surface (even if it was a watery bit)? 🤔
That's no meteor, it is a ship.seen them before, they fly horizontal and slow down then disapear over Marchwood.
I shall look out for the low flying ships in the future, shipmate
And if anyone finds where it came down, they win the pot of gold
Morgat, Brittany we think shipmate
ET coming to Southampton to get some Rusty Rum.
just another reminder that we are all just one big space rock away from annihilation. Nothing pretty about them In My opinion! :)
Very interesting , Spock .
Indeed, fascinating 😲
I am sorry, but that was definitely an Alien spaceship.
So when do the Tripods start attacking?
It is a meteor not a meteorite.
I didn't get that close to it shipmate.
It's a meteor because it didn't actually land in the sea off the coast of Normandy?
It it possible this is the reentry of the SpaceX satellite that fell out of low-earth orbit?
Aliens. Defiantly
