Very cool! She's a fine bird and it looks like you have done a good job with her training. I envy you the area you have to hunt in, not many rabbits in my neck of the woods and everything is private property. Look forward to more vids... Cheers from NorCal
14:25 "She sees it. but she's hesitating, probably, because it's too far". Perhaps she didn't see it, because she was riding backwards on your perch? This thesis is proven, when she finally does see it, she nails it!
Love this. Well edited and sound quality is perfect. If you could make a video or respond to your camera setups that'd be cool! Well done. Honestly I've done some research and I can definitely tell Falconry will be in my future, currently residing in Ohio and not sure of how well it would be here, BUT I plan to move in the next couple of years anyways.
How amazing is this?wow,HOT bird!!!!A glorious design by God to keep the vermin of this earth in check!!Boy,Australia could use lots of raptors for feral cats and rabbits for sure!! I admire the rapport between you and this great bird!
Being a falconer is one thing I'm probably never going to be able to do, though I'd like to. I don't have the environment nor the time and money to do it properly. Astrid seems like a loyal and smart bird!
Excellent piece of falconry and filming. What is her flying weight. With your scales it looked under 1kg. The retails we have access to in Scotland female fly around 2 lbs 10 oz think that’s around 1300 grams? Shall be following your channel 👍
should get one of those belt holster with a deep pouch to hold the bottom of the pole then you would only need to use One hand to hold the upper part of the pole. making it more stable and less tiring
Youde think that's a good idea but I can actually keep it more steady if I just use my arms. It's really not that heavy and I got used to it within a couple weeks
I woke up a couple days ago to a decapitated rabbit in my yard also the hawk is acting like that because she does not like having that lady carry her she doesn’t like being used to get girls to sleep with you
You should breed astrid then ypu could have a few more females or males to have to hubt so she doesnt have to hunt alone amd when they get old enough maybe u could let them go?
Dude...I'm a big hunter, but raptors are some of nature's cruelest lifeforms...just sayin. And to think that us hunters get protested upon by the granolas....
If the bird flies away, or is out of sight in the underbrush or the branches of a tree, the bell helps the falconer find it again (nowadays, however, they’re often fitted with radio transmitters as well).
I am so glad people can afford to go falconine. Meanwhile I never see a rabbit, pheasant, or partridge like the hundreds I saw and hunted as a kid. Now the loons in Michigan are all but gone. They were a really cool bird to watch dive for fish etc. Now they are gone too. Know why? The family farmers shot raptors and falcons to keep their chickens safe. Now the family farms are gone and city slickers want to play with hawks. They kill EVERYTHING they can. Personally, I would rather enjoy the occasional pheasant roast dinner melt in your mouth than watch a damn hawk or eagle kill off the bluebirds, etc. Sick, and if you think it's just nature, well I am part of nature too.
He's giving you the full experience... if you don't like these videos dont watch.. not every trip out is gonna provide a kill and he could've baited you into watching one of those videos.
@@richardjiles5032 I had to watch the full video to see what he was giving me. And I don't need you to tell me what to do next. I figured that out four months ago.
Omg! Video was sooo long of jus time wasting footage of sooo much humdrum boring video...the hawk catching the rabbit...that's it! The rest was terrible. Hate ppl do that.
Very good video, beutiful raptor
that was awesome, i like how the bird comes to your t pole.

That is awesome 👏🏻, im here from tik tok 🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♂️
Same
I think the bells she wearing is taken away her moment of surprise
Your hawk is beautiful I want one
Awesome! Loved watching the longer video and commentary
Awesome video!
If you keep this up, that run at 15:18 will eventually feel like a cake walk! Haha
Looking forward to the next upload!
At the beginning “daaaadddddd I don’t wanna go in da boxxxxxx”
I think it’s because the hawk knows they are going hunting and is getting excited (I get your comment was a joke though)
Great video and a lovely working team
How does she know there was something over there from that far away?
Hawks have amazing vision. Their resolution is 2-3x a humans
I’ve just recently started doing bird rescue and I found your tik tok so it great to see how great yo are with astrid, she really is beautiful
Love ur videos and Tik tok videos

Great video
Just like to know how did you get her?how you train her?
How come she does not fly away and do not come back again?
How much did the rabbit weigh?
Question, what do you do with the animals she catches?
I keep it to feed her
How amazing is this?wow,HOT bird!!!!A glorious design by God to keep the vermin of this earth in check!!Boy,Australia could use lots of raptors for feral cats and rabbits for sure!! I admire the rapport between you and this great bird!
He deserves so much more clout 🥺
Does she eat the fluff too? Will she be able to poop that out? Sorry for the gross question!
I believe they vomit up most of the indigestible pieces (like fur, feathers, and bones) as a compact pellet.
What do you give her to eat, when your not hunting? Do you buy something from the pet store?
I feed her the rabbits she caught and some quail
Great video!!! Keep it up
Congratulations!!!!!
Greetings from a Mexican falconer
Hello! Good to see ya!

A 1300g female is on the larger end of our Redtails. My girl flys at 975 g. We will be bumping up her weight as it gets colder.
Thanks good hawking, look forward to following your channel 👍

Greetings from Detroit.
Doesn't the prey hear the bells before the attack?
What if she fly's away and doesn't come back?
Well what do you think??? The answer is she fly’s away and he might not see her again
You can check his tiktok it did actually almost happen once
is this your 2nd hawk
Wait so she just sits and gets to watch bruh
Do you have to have a licence to assist you in a hunt
You have to have a license in order to even get a hawk
Wow 🎉
Was that 93 pounds
I want one so bad, why did he take the rabbit from the hawk though 🤔
cus it good cooking... yum
How Eagle catch anything with that bell ringing hah
Mate
Question , where can I buy one
U catch them
Just go out side and hold your arm out till one choses you.
Wasn’t that Avatar?
Is she also eating the fur of the jackrabbit when she caught it?
this is why they had a horse
You said 20 degrees that's pathetic you should go to southern new Mexico it gets to 120 in the summer
Nah I prefer the cold.
She got him good
15:42 that's what I told mt gf last night.
Why are you doing this?! I guess it's fun for you.
Fun for me, my wife and my hawk
Good video need some editing to be a lil better

She doesn’t like that box
I saw your ticktok
When would u get a new hawk
2 maybe 3 years
Dude...I'm a big hunter, but raptors are some of nature's cruelest lifeforms...just sayin. And to think that us hunters get protested upon by the granolas....
Idk lol have you ever seen coyotes take their prey... now thats a cruel nightmare esp to people's family pets!
Why the bell? Sounds annoying
How can she hunt her best with a bell announcing her presence.
If the bird flies away, or is out of sight in the underbrush or the branches of a tree, the bell helps the falconer find it again (nowadays, however, they’re often fitted with radio transmitters as well).
He cheated on his bird

Tell me you know nothing about wildlife without talking me you know nothing about wildlife
You need to exercise dude
@@hissgoescobra what do you think is happening in the video?
You need to ride bike or something man that out of breath sounded fucking horrible.
In terrain that's as flat as a pool table! He needs to ride his ebike to the gym!
Eighteen minutes for a three minute video.
It’s about showing the entire experience. Astrid doesn’t just catch rabbits in a few minutes
