AnaTalita Ferreira, he always sings lead on one or two tracks per album. The one time he didn't us fans made it very clear that we were disappointed. Ike said he'd always give us at least one track with him singing lead, because he was surprised at the response. But I agree with you, his voice is great. I think it's a shame that Zac didn't sing lead as often as Taylor or Isaac. But he has sung lead a lot more in recent years. I find it funny that now that the guys are grown Zac's voice is actually pretty similar to Taylor's when he was young. But their voices were always similar anyway.
I remember those times, when HANSON were very popular:) And i bought this album after " Middle of Nowhere":) It was cassette and called " Three Car Garage"... I was so happy:) Love this song... HANSON are AMAZING! Listening Them since 1997 till nowdays.
євгенія щеснюк Hanson is so much unlike other groups, they show respect for than fans and go out of their way for so many "causes." So respectful, committed, for all us fans. Truly talented, down to earth, love them and their music....so yes Agreed! :)
I love this song, I listened to it all day yesterday and I have a good feeling that I will be listening to it all day today. This song is so deep and meaningful, at least to me. Everytime I listen to it and watch this video I always feel so thoughtful, I think a lot when listening to Soldier, it's a great song, Hanson is AWESOME! I love this video for two reasons, 1 because I love listening to this song and 2 because Zac smiles in some parts of the video and everytime he does he makes my heart melt, plus I always love watching him play the drums.
They make me feel like I wasn't reflective enough as a child lol these lyrics are INSANELY mature-- I know it's about a toy, but it's really about accepting those who are different and loving them all the same! And for that.... I am a Fanson for life.
It was just a comment, nothing more :) I enjoy the song as well. As a rule, Hanson songs do have a meaning, a message to them. That is another reason to love them indeed :)
+Jojanneke83 Actually not quite correct. it is a classic story (from 1838) but written by Hans Christian Andersen "The Steadfast Tin Soldier". I remember it from when I was a child and have always loved this Hanson song. Agree with the OP; their lyrics were amazing for the ages they were. Some of the most talented musicians ever.
Come on! This song is amazing! How could they take a kid story and make it song, I mean, a good song! They knew how to catch the melancholy of the story and put it on a song.
Because, these: boys, guys, men ( today) were and still GENIUS!!! Write so deep songs in such young ages! When i translate it on my native language ( Ukrainian) - its smth., SPECIAL and BEAUTIFUL!@ Jane - Женя from Ukraine@
Not so long ago in a toy room not so far away Lived a boy who had so many toys And he didn't know what to do with them all With them all, with them all Well, his favorite of all the toys Were the tin soldiers, the tin soldiers And the one that he loved the most Was the one with the missing leg At night the toys would come alive Or that's how the story is told And there they met the soldier With the missing leg And the ballerina with the heart of gold One day the boy sat them on the windowsill To watch for the enemy coming over the hill But when the wind it blew It knocked him into the street And the boys from the town they said Won't you look at the one-legged soldier? Let's stick him in a boat and send him far away 'Cause we can't find a use For a soldier with a missing leg And he was lonely, so lonely for a friend And he was lonely, so lonely for a friend He was so lonely, yeah As he floated past a river rat On his homemade boat Well, the boat began to sink And he sank to the bottom of the river He got swallowed by a fish Caught by a fisherman Sold to the family of the boy who had the toys And the cook said, look at the one-legged soldier It looks just like the one we lost the other day Could this be the boy's tin soldier with the missing leg? But he was lonely, so lonely for a friend, oh And he was lonely, so lonely for a friend He was so lonely, yeah Oh yeah so lonely, oh yeah What about the ballerina? As he sat on the mantle piece to dry from the river The ballerina who held his heart sat at his side And when they got up to dance with each other She fell by the fire blazing bright When he jumped to save her from the flames Their bases began to melt into one and the same And now they share each other's destiny Together forever they will be And they are no longer lonely for a friend And they are no longer lonely for a friend No longer lonely, yeah No longer lonely Whoa, whoa Yeah, whoa No longer lonely, yeah Well, not so long ago in a toy room not so far away Lived a boy who had so many toys And he played with them all With them all, with them all Well, he had a ballerina and a one-legged soldier Stuck together at the base And they share each others destiny As they sit on top of the mantel place It's the story of the one-legged soldier The story of the one-legged soldier The story of the tin soldier With the missing leg
When the "Small Soldier" movie was released, I was disappointed that this song was not there as the soundtrack :) The movie www.imdb.com/title/tt0122718/
haha yes. I believe it's their younger brother Mackenzie speaking in the beginning, but I'm not 100% sure. He would have been really young at the time.
How many Hansons are there,, original family, not the new kids,,, is anyone of the 3 Hansons family pregnant again? Taylor have enough kids yet?,, they are damn cute though!

Isaac's voice is so smooth...I love it! I think he should lead sing more often.
AnaTalita Ferreira, he always sings lead on one or two tracks per album. The one time he didn't us fans made it very clear that we were disappointed. +Kayla Soulier It's a classic story, the nutcracker
Okay...and? To put that into lyrics is still impressive for 10 year olds.
It was just a comment, nothing more :) I enjoy the song as well. As a rule, Hanson songs do have a meaning, a message to them. That is another reason to love them indeed :)

This is such a goood song!~
it's from the road to albertane dvd
Here after Isaac’s Quarantstream
Not so long ago in a toy room not so far away
Lived a boy who had so many toys
And he didn't know what to do with them all
With them all, with them all
Well, his favorite of all the toys
Were the tin soldiers, the tin soldiers
And the one that he loved the most
Was the one with the missing leg
At night the toys would come alive
Or that's how the story is told
And there they met the soldier
With the missing leg
And the ballerina with the heart of gold
One day the boy sat them on the windowsill
To watch for the enemy coming over the hill
But when the wind it blew
It knocked him into the street
And the boys from the town they said
Won't you look at the one-legged soldier?
Let's stick him in a boat and send him far away
'Cause we can't find a use
For a soldier with a missing leg
And he was lonely, so lonely for a friend
And he was lonely, so lonely for a friend
He was so lonely, yeah
As he floated past a river rat
On his homemade boat
Well, the boat began to sink
And he sank to the bottom of the river
He got swallowed by a fish
Caught by a fisherman
Sold to the family of the boy who had the toys
And the cook said, look at the one-legged soldier
It looks just like the one we lost the other day
Could this be the boy's tin soldier with the missing leg?
But he was lonely, so lonely for a friend, oh
And he was lonely, so lonely for a friend
He was so lonely, yeah
Oh yeah so lonely, oh yeah
What about the ballerina?
As he sat on the mantle piece to dry from the river
The ballerina who held his heart sat at his side
And when they got up to dance with each other
She fell by the fire blazing bright
When he jumped to save her from the flames
Their bases began to melt into one and the same
And now they share each other's destiny
Together forever they will be
And they are no longer lonely for a friend
And they are no longer lonely for a friend
No longer lonely, yeah
No longer lonely
Whoa, whoa
Yeah, whoa
No longer lonely, yeah
Well, not so long ago in a toy room not so far away
Lived a boy who had so many toys
And he played with them all
With them all, with them all
Well, he had a ballerina and a one-legged soldier
Stuck together at the base
And they share each others destiny
As they sit on top of the mantel place
It's the story of the one-legged soldier
The story of the one-legged soldier
The story of the tin soldier
With the missing leg
This is Amazing!
