At 8:07 you can see how the surface kind of bends when you tap it.
Mine does that too. At first i thought it was a protective film that should have been removed at installation. But i left it on.
If that is supposed to be permanent it does seem a bit cheap quality.

The screen looks like cheap shit! Ridiculous that Sony has a trash screen compared to a no brand China model for 1/5 the price.

The earth you say has to be earth has to be connected to the black on the loom is it as simple as snipping the wire and connecting it on a 3 way connector ?

Interesting to see that installed. Please can you let me know what fitting kit you used (if you can remember) and did the cambus work for steering controls? Big ask, but I'm struggling to understand the process of fitting a XAV-AX3250 into a Corsa D. Nothing on youtube covers the install (cage/brackets) unless you want a pumpkin thing from China. Thank you for your time.

Steering controls are made by a company called Connects2, your local retailer should be able to order one with ease.

Did you use the cage supplied or an alternative? The Sony cage appears to be too big to fit into a connects2 fascia adapter

It depends on the fitment, a standard cage is 113mm deep while one for an Astra would be 100mm deep and need ordering from a supplier or car shop such as Halfords.

Probably but this is not something that I have ever tried.
You would be best to refer to your instruction manual or the retailer you purchased the item from.
Failing that you can download an instruction manual from the Sony web site.

Not at the time this was recorded but it’s possible that by now a system update may include that feature.
Check for a update on the Sony site that is referenced in the radios manual.
