This is going to be really helpful for my next mod that I promised near the end of my "Upgrade Your Scope" video. I promise it's something you're gonna want to try yourselves and it's unlikely you've ever heard of it before! If you want to get a head start, pick up some polarizing film on Amazon and some double sided tape or - better yet - 3M 468MP transfer adhesive sheets. And I know what you're thinking: "oh a polarizing scope mod" but no, that's not it! (Although we can do that too :))
if only this also worked on my Olympus scopes haha, super cool discovery. Do you think the oblique and rheinberg filters from the JTTM scope will fit Olympus cx scopes or the earlier 160mm bh scopes?
Thank you, that definitely made it better but it is still off center and I can't move it foward more. This kinda ruins a lot of the filters that need a nice kohler illumination to work properly
I have a doubt, maybe one of my greatest ones: Is LED illumination better than halogen? I preffer halogen when it comes to color, but... it heats a lot. How can that heat be reduced?? That is something that has stopped me from appreciating halogen bulbs microscopes. What would you recommend?
Hey there! Most premium scopes (like the BH2) have an IR blocking filter that blocks most of the harmful light that would heat up a sample. It's not really too big of a deal either way - I wouldn't let it impact your choice. I think the best choice might always be a custom modification with a high power LED that has a "High color rendering index" which means it cast a very natural looking light.

An easy and simple fix. Definitely make more videos on the microcosmos microscope!
Love itt. making good, even better

Nice tip! I'll be doing the same for mine.
