Sorry for your loss Aaron!. Your Betta sorority aquarium looks absolutely beautiful!. She probably jumped out because of being chased or threatened by another, don't put the blame on yourself mate. Keep up the amazing work 🙂
They’re gonna jump out naturally and will continue too with that lid, also sorority’s are frowned upon especially mixing with other species as well. I hope all goes well!
This is sad, I'm sorry to hear. That tank is looking absolutely beautiful though. In nature I think it would be natural for them jump out of rice paddies onto the ground but I guess they would keep flopping until they land back in. Always difficult when something like this happens and hard not to blame yourself. I had a few things like this happen over the years :( I had a male and a female jump out, the male jumped whilst acclimatising but I put him back in within 20 minutes and he lived.
It was quite a shock, I feel so bad that she would have had a horrible ending to her life but I have fixed the lid of the Sorority and a couple other aquariums to ensure it doesn’t happen again!
Sorry for your loss Aaron! We all make mistakes and always so sad especially when you have a strong bond with the fish! Hope this doesn't happen to you again! 🙏

I’ve fixed the problem now so it won’t happen again thankfully, I will miss her though!
