  • Service technician, Charles, brings a wheel back to life with a simple hub service.
We love getting old wheels in our workshop, as it's a real testament to the longevity of a Chris King product. Chris King hates waste, so every hub that passes our workshop is a reminder that we are helping him live out his promise to keep components on bikes and out of landfills.
Since being founded in 1976, Chris King has become one of the most esteemed names in cycling thanks to the extraordinary quality, durability and performance of its components, which include the finest headsets, hubs and bottom brackets.
Every product in the Chris King range is designed without compromise to offer the ultimate upgrade while the brand's complete commitment to responsible sourcing of materials and environmentally progressive manufacturing mean Chris King is the first manufacturer in the bike industry to become a B Certified Corporation.

Thank you for showing that plastic cages can be removed! Now I can clean the bearings with isopropanol, without worrying about plastic compatibility!

Awesome video. Cuts so quick you can't follow along. No insight on what the hell you're doing or how you're doing it or why you're doing it, or what tools you're using to do it. No comments about what to be careful of, what to look out for. You managed to make it as absolutely devoid of helpful information as humanly possible. Keep up the great content.

Thanks for the feedback. We are going to create another video which will be a step-by-step guide. Keep an eye out over the next few weeks. Do you have any other Chris King service guide requests?

Hi Joe. We would always recommend using Chris King's grease as and where appropriate, but if for any reason you cannot get hold of the Silver Grease you can fill 2/3rds of the bearings with Park Tool HPG-1 or similar.
