  • I've been googling these lenses every day since I learned about them, and new nuggets keep appearing. The more I learn about them, the more excited I get. I'm really hoping to get my hands on these soon - at least I'll get to see them in person at Cinegear in a couple weeks. Enjoy!

    Hopefully the rendering of the microcontrast is good in the roll-off. If not, I wouldn't even bother.

      @@markwiemels You forgot to mention their extraordinary falloff ;-)

    I got to film with them during NAB. Super fun! Not sure but they might use it on their demo at Cinegear. They should be sold for $4000-6000 IMO. They have a good Organic Cleanliness to them. Definitely punching above their price class. We put them on the Z8 with a 2 stop ND Meike adapter, shot T1.4 all night and day at 800iso. That T1.4 really is so clean and sharp.

      They will definitely be at Cinegear. They even made that explicit on their Instagram: instagram.com/p/C7QNINgJhrJ/

    Played with these at lens summit. They are absolutely very clean, very modern and almost no flare. I think a direct competitor for tokina Vista, supreme, signature.

      Mostly I want them for their (nearly) full stop over the Athenas.

      Imagine these on a GFX 100 (if they cover)

      @@nick_salazar They will absolutely have that extra creative capability of that extra stopish of light. that being said, they certainly are much bigger than the athena set. That being said, playing with them, it's remarkable what they've done at that price point. similarly with athena. its pretty insane.

      @@nick_salazar for stills or video? Weirdly the gfx sensor in full width for video is only a smidge wider than raptor. But I’d imagine these cover from 35 and up no prob with decent performance

      @@NorthwestCameraCo BUT HOW'S THE FALLOFF??? Just kidding. The demo footage I've seen looks phenomenal. I've been really wanting an f1.2 FF cine set. The only one really out there is the Xeen Meister, which is a bit of a joke. These actually look solid. For me the difference between f1.2 and f1.8 is EVERYTHING. This set has me absolutely salivating.

    I have pre ordered the 50 and 35 after first seeing them on your channel. They look like everything that my Nisi Athena's are but better/faster and rear VND compatable.

      The image out of them is extraordinary. You need to be ready for a significant bump in weight if you're coming from lighter lenses. But the image quality, build quality, etc ... it's really tough to find a fault with these lenses.

    @northwestcameraco @nicksalazar any idea if the rear element will clear kippertie or red RF to pl ND adapters?

    • @nick_salazar
      @nick_salazar  4 месяца назад +1

      The rear elements appear pretty tame. Far shallower than things like Athena. I’d bet money they clear Kippertie, Mofage Poco, and definitely the Breakthrough DFM.
