One thing to note about Tower of Terror at Disneysea is that some time in jan/Feb every year they run an event called the 13th Floor where instead of getting the usual three drops, each ride gets a total of seven drops. Something to avoid/aim for depending on what kind of experience you're after
The beast to prince transformation is achieved by pepper’s ghost. The laying down beast is a static figure projected and lifted horizontally, the prince is below the figure on a raising platform (you can kinda see it)
Been at both parks back in 2012 and was very unique experience with the mix of japanese language !!! Journey to the Center of the Earth was insane and winnie the pooh ride was freshly new with all that “new technology” was just amazing !!! Oh I miss Tokyo , great City !!!
We went in 2019 and earlier this year. Definitely a great place. Even the rides that are copies of the ones here are worth going on. Tokyo Disney's Small World is cleaner with everything working. Pirates has the original Red-Head scene (the better version in our opinion) and usually only a 5 minute wait during our visit. Don't forget their parades too. Those are far better than the US park parades.
I went to Tokyo Disney last Halloween and it was amazing! DisneySea was my favorite because it was nothing like anything I've seen before. I also stayed at the Toy Story Hotel and honestly that was my favorite part of the trip. I love toy story with all my heart and you really feel like you are a toy living in Andy's room.
Thank you for this video. I plan to take my daughter to Tokyo Disney for her next birthday, so this definitely has me even more excited than I was before.
Thanks for this video. Tokyo Disneysea is my favourite Disney park out of the ones I’ve been to. Would love more videos about the Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai parks please!
Thanks for the video. I have a Japan trip in May, and I planned a couple of days to go to Tokyo Disney. I will only have 1 day per park, so I'm glad to get highlights on attractions to visit to make the most of my trip.
Tokyo has inexpensive (yet clean & safe) hotel options & you can stay there and take a train to the parks, and the parks have less expensive admission passes than America's Disney parks. Of course a round-trip flight might cost $1,200.
THANK YOU for making & sharing this AJ/DFB!!! Excellent work! In my unsolicited opinion, many American families with kids who are considering on splurging on a Disney World time share, would be better off going to Tokyo Disneyland for two or thee days and exploring Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto. And on another trip instead of Florida, go to Disneyland Paris (maybe skip the bad Studios park there -- the only Disney park I consider to be bad & depressing) & spend a great week in Paris. That + a week in Washington D.C. can be close in price to some splurgy trips to WDW, & your kids will learn more than they would from 3 week-long WDW trips. Still go to WDW & U. Orlando at least once too!
My first Disney parks experience was in Tokyo. It has been like 20 years ago, but it was amazing. It’a cool to see in this video known rides, but it is also amaizing to see new ones… I have to go back!!!!
Do you think they could squeeze in a little room for the beauty and the beast ride in the Epcot France Pavilion or Magic Kingdom? Because I’m sure that ride would be a hit in the United States
I know they can borrow/license the existing rides here, any chance we can use their rides or are they proprietary to Japan? Because we absolutely should have this Beauty and the Beast ride in the US
I'm not 100% sure, but I think that any at DisneySea cannot be brought over to other parks. The other park can be, but the company that actually owns/operates DisneySea has an exclusivity contract that says they get to have rides that no one else does or will.
I think the first issue I see is the cost of making the attractions in the US. Monsters Inc and Winnie the Pooh are two examples where the Japanese versions are significantly better than the US ones without taking away anything important like major animatronics. Convincing the US parks to spend money efficiently will be a challenge for sure.
Yah the big challenge is the costs included in bringing stuff here like for example while Winnie the Pooh ride is amazing at Tokyo Disneyland it is expensive like costed more than expedition Everest to build like oriental land company don’t care how much money they drop on a ride as long as it is as best as it can be
Hey, the reason why Disney japans beauty and the beast has French theming is because the original fairy tale is French. The Japanese know that and paid homage to the story origins. That’s very cool. I’ve ridden that ride, it’s beautiful but us French theming isn’t weird
Please do a video of rides that are only in Japan and which rides are similar to Disneyland. I don’t want to do rides that are basic like you said . Thank you !
OMG I completely agree on Mission Breakout! While I get that the original Tower of Terror is the "best," the Guardians version is just more fun. Also, I support your opinion of Aquatopia. I'm excited to ride that.
I'm finally getting to view this one ... and I'm sort of bummed that most of the 'good' rides are in the Tokyo Sea park... We only get one day to experience Tokyo Disney, and I had to only pick one ... sigh... I don't want to miss out on the Beauty and the Beast ride, but dang - I feel like after seeing this video, I'll be missing out on all the Tokyo Sea rides 😕 ... If we had two days, would be fine ... oh well... maybe someday.
I was just at DisneySea a month ago and I loved it but I found Journey at the Center of the Earth to be overrated. It is really beautiful and a wonderful experience but it's ridiculously short, with the adrenaline-fueled part being like 20 seconds or less. Also, a piece of advice: try to go whenever the line is at its shortest, because it has a really long queue that is really uninteresting (it's literally a long queue that turns countless times in a large space) and feels endless. I waited for one hour and it felt like three compared to the one and a half hour wait for Soaring.
Hey, AJ!! So the Beauty and the Beast ride has an effect called the “Pepper’s Ghost” effect. This effect is also used in the Haunted Mansion rides back in the USA. I believe that The Imagineering Story on Disney+ has a whole episode on the Haunted Mansion and it explains the whole story about the Pepper’s Ghost.
I notice through this video that everyone there seems to keep to themselves & mind their own business. Not like here in the states where when you pull out a camera, everyone is always gawking & staring!
Unpopular opinion, ride beauty and the beast once and you’re good to never ride it again. It’s gorgeous and the line is wonderful with all the little things to look for. But you just sit and listen to the songs and spin around. It’s just a little boring and slow.
It’s just such a joy to see because everything is seriously pretty and well made. Seeing videos on the behind the scenes of it def helped me appreciate more. Went on it twice in my last visit. No regrets

This video needs a downloadable PDF it’s so good
Thank you for this video.
Aquatopia is so underrated and fun! I would definitely include it in my Tokyo top 10 as well.
I just got back from a solo trip to Tokyo Disney yesterday! It was amazing!!!! I already want to go back
Thanks for the video. I have a Japan trip in May, and I planned a couple of days to go to Tokyo Disney. I will only have 1 day per park, so I'm glad to get highlights on attractions to visit to make the most of my trip.
TPM vids had the Beauty and the Beast ride on a video for a breakdown at that scene. If memory serves it involves the Pepper’s Ghost effect.
I kept thinking "Where's Sinbad on this list?!" but I'm glad you eventually mentioned it :D
Sinbad is some people's favorite, partly because of the improved (long ago) music.
im from australia and im going to japan next year in april and part of that trip we are going to disney land i will definitely trying this
Loved Sinbad ride. Chandu is my fav! Going to world at win with my Chandu crossbody!
Do you have a video showing your travel adventure to Tokyo and how to get around?
Tokyo Disneyland seems to be fresh, new, and way more exciting than the US parks!! I wish I could afford this trip!
Tokyo has inexpensive (yet clean & safe) hotel options & you can stay there and take a train to the parks,
and the parks have less expensive admission passes than America's Disney parks.
Of course a round-trip flight might cost $1,200.

Beast transformation = Pepper's Ghost. Turns off the light in the Beast area and then turns on the light on the human.
Is it always crowded and long queue in Tokyo Disney regardless of the day and season?
My first Disney parks experience was in Tokyo. It has been like 20 years ago, but it was amazing. It’a cool to see in this video known rides, but it is also amaizing to see new ones… I have to go back!!!!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I've been wanting more videos about the international parks!!!
Awesome video! I’ll be going next year when the new attractions open. I’m just confused on how to purchase tickets to the parks.
Aquatopia was my fave ride too!😊
Great video. Thanks for the tour. It's such a beautiful park.
Do you think they could squeeze in a little room for the beauty and the beast ride in the Epcot France Pavilion or Magic Kingdom? Because I’m sure that ride would be a hit in the United States
I’d rather magic kingdom but I wouldn’t mind a Pinocchio ride in Italy.
I love this can you guys make one like this for Disneyland Paris Hong Kong etc
Thanks AJ. Great video. On my bucket list
I love their attention to the SEA
I know they can borrow/license the existing rides here, any chance we can use their rides or are they proprietary to Japan? Because we absolutely should have this Beauty and the Beast ride in the US

@@jdwilliams8864 Wish our parks cared that much! haha. Only the almighty dollar matters here.

Awesome video! Thank you AJ!
This time we’re talking about the fish not the genius is such a hilarious line that I had to note it.
Heres to hopin I can do Star Wars Celebration and Tokyo Disney in one trip 😂
the timing on this video is nuts because i just got back from tokyo disney last week
We are California Disneylanders heading to both Tokyo parks next week. Do you recommend buying all the premier passes as soon as we enter the park?
Are we getting a Disneyland Holiday food Video? We have a trip in December!
I can't wait to ride Splash Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland next year! 💦⛰🐰🦊🐻🏰
How are the Sizes for the attractions? Can Butter people fit in some of them?
I'm gutted. I didn't know about the priority pass when I visited, and only found out when I came back from my holiday to Tokyo Disney :(
AAAAAA I wish I had seen this video last Saturday! We were there, and only got to go on a few rides! At least we managed Center of the Earth.
Please do a video of rides that are only in Japan and which rides are similar to Disneyland. I don’t want to do rides that are basic like you said . Thank you !
Does this means an All Ears Tokyo trip video is coming?
I’ve always wanted to go.
Thanks for the video! I'm planning to go to Tokyo resorts in 2025, so I can't wait to see the rest !
Aquatopia should 100% be on this list. It’s so deceptively fun
OMG I completely agree on Mission Breakout! While I get that the original Tower of Terror is the "best," the Guardians version is just more fun. Also, I support your opinion of Aquatopia. I'm excited to ride that.
I wish they would replace the finding nemo submarine ride with something like aquatopia
More Japan video please!!! Love your work
Good to see y’all are still fans 🤣
Yay! I am so happy that you were able to go again! So excited to watch this video! We are going in 2025!
Funny at 1:03 minutes in the clouds look like Mickey's head!
Does Japan's Tower of Terror have a "chicken exit"? I can't ride it for health reasons, but would love to see the interior.
Just a note on the Beauty ride: you can be too tall to ride
Which is the max height allowed? 😮
Hey AJ did you do anything else in Japan?
I'm finally getting to view this one ... and I'm sort of bummed that most of the 'good' rides are in the Tokyo Sea park... We only get one day to experience Tokyo Disney, and I had to only pick one ... sigh... I don't want to miss out on the Beauty and the Beast ride, but dang - I feel like after seeing this video, I'll be missing out on all the Tokyo Sea rides 😕 ... Why can’t we have cool rides like this in Florida!?!
I was just at DisneySea a month ago and I loved it but I found Journey at the Center of the Earth to be overrated. It is really beautiful and a wonderful experience but it's ridiculously short, with the adrenaline-fueled part being like 20 seconds or less. I waited for one hour and it felt like three compared to the one and a half hour wait for Soaring.
I wish these rides were at Disney World
Let me guess before watching… it’s the Beauty and the Beast ride?
Does anyone know if Tokyo Disney has the VIP service like in the states
It doesn’t anymore
Hey, AJ!! So the Beauty and the Beast ride has an effect called the “Pepper’s Ghost” effect. This effect is also used in the Haunted Mansion rides back in the USA. I believe that The Imagineering Story on Disney+ has a whole episode on the Haunted Mansion and it explains the whole story about the Pepper’s Ghost.
do they not have the crazy pirates of the Caribbean there??
I think that’s Shanghai
AJ, does TOT have a chicken exit?
It does, my boyfriend used it because he wanted to see the queue but hates drop rides.
Where is thee people mover.
Why do all the overseas parks get all the amazing themes and IP?? 😢
I notice through this video that everyone there seems to keep to themselves & mind their own business. Not like here in the states where when you pull out a camera, everyone is always gawking & staring!
The best Disneyland out of all of them in my opinion. Japan does everything better.
Unpopular opinion, ride beauty and the beast once and you’re good to never ride it again. It’s gorgeous and the line is wonderful with all the little things to look for. But you just sit and listen to the songs and spin around. It’s just a little boring and slow.
so like most disney rides? What did you expect a thrill ride?
It’s just such a joy to see because everything is seriously pretty and well made. Seeing videos on the behind the scenes of it def helped me appreciate more. Went on it twice in my last visit. No regrets
The big thing about Baymax is that the dances are a big draw. Apparently there are multiple songs each with a different dance.
Disney world is still better
