Conflict of Nations - How to manage resource early game

- Conflict of Nations plays much slower than games like Call of War. It requires you to use your resources to your buildings/troops in a delicate balance. I describe one method of starting a game using Euro Doctrine for this Conflict of Nations play through.

I have a tip that I always do, and I'm hesitant to share it as the more people that realize to do it, the harder it will be on me. So, as soon as you start, hit up the market and buy ALL the rare resources. They'll be gone later when you actually need them. If you have any spare money, buy the resource shaped like a cog. I can't remember what they're called but they'll be in big demand later too
I buy the first 2-3 and leave the expensive ones up. lol
Hey man! I am finland in that canada game.
Nice....I think we will do well if we can keep you in long enough!
TheB2 how do you get electronics
Hey man, I’m china in the game 3731088
Zack Venables you capture cities that produce electronics. Or you buy them in the market
@@zackvenables6139 holy crap that's one of those questions usually answered by common sense lol
I just started playing this game yesterday and really enjoy it! Thanks for the videos as they have gotten me off to good starts in a couple games im in!
Glad the videos could help.....love that the videos are of value.
Everyone have their own opinion of building, like rushing army base, level army base give you Mrl, the beast unit in the game.9 Mrl,1 mr, and some SAM,infantry behind, you will have the world.this is my opinion. Still I love your video tho, you are the only RUclipsr out there, make good CON videos,( well, you’re the only CON youtuber I know of)thanks.
There are several people and all make good content but thank you. Everyone has a different play style so when I recommend something it's based on my play style.
Assuming you feel like you have enough experience, you should do a video on the naval meta. Even experienced players can miss out on how important a good navy can be in the right context. For basically any nation that has most cities along the coastline, having a navy is a must. Without one, an enemy's navy can just sail up and bombard cities until they have all been overrun by insurgents, and there would be absolutely nothing you could do about it. A naval war is basically a manifestation of an economic war. Whoever can produce more ships, wins. It's absolutely a zero-sum game, in that, if you loose a confrontation at sea, you will absolutely die, and there will be nothing you can do about it. However, if you defeat the enemy armada, you can just sail right up and take out their main port cities, or their components producing city, stopping them from being able to recover. At this point, they lost. They can not even send troops to your homeland, as they will be sunk. What happens out at sea can feel like it is not consequential, but it is the most consequential type of warfare. In a ground war, you will usually have some time to recover from a loss, and usually have some buffer between whoever you are fighting. In a naval war, loosing a battle can mean loosing the war. Knowing how to win with a naval war might be the most important skill for high levels of play.
Naval is my weakest area, I generally don't enjoy playing it and only do when I have to
@@TheB2 Oh okay. It's actually my favorite, but I can totally see why it might be disliked.
Gabriel Reed I agree with you navy is the most important area. i usually only make motorized infantry, a fat navy, and some air superiority. That’s all you need, a navy can cripple over 80% of all countries and generally they can’t do anything about it unless they are a skilled player. I stopped using armored units completely because they’re obsolete if you know what you’re doing
@@olegpal5926 There have been some really interesting texts expressing exactly this dynamic written to describe the real life importance of naval war.
chad, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia are the best landlocked countries
This is great! Your scenario is just like mine!
I like it!
finally tutorial !
I hope this helps you out....I may not have covered anything and the community always corrects me with some great tips! I learn quite a bit from the community as well.
major countries have cities that produces rare mats, electronics, and fuel, etc. right? and i can boost it's production by building an arms industry in a city or a local industry in a province, correct?
yes, build AI or take provinces and build in the provinces.
This video was very helpful
Thanks, hope you enjoy the game.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I make my troops travel via airplane? Like I press move and I start in the city with the airfield and they won’t get in the airplane. Does the other city also need to have an airfield or?
Im in day 11 of my first game for context
You have to research them to a level where they can fly, usually level 3 or 4
TheB2 aaaaaa okay thank you finally got them to start flying. If you don’t mind a follow up question, is there any reason to leave troops in cities already taken over. I wiped out a country and still have 1 troop sitting I every city I case it goes rogue.
@@sebasbasty3730 yes it can go rogue so unless u really need the troops urgently I'd recommend leaving 1-2 (depending on the city's morale and how bad u want)
but didn't even research the 4 and 3 levels yet i think you need an airport or airfield for that to happen and the destination area also needs an airfield or airport
Jesus christ I just realized I mest up big time with Brazil by knowing this lol
All different game styles when it comes to CoN, just settle into what works for you and enjoy the game.
Hey B2 i am currently in a game with a few of my friends we are Japan Australia North Korea do you have any advice for launching an assault on America?
build a navy, clear the way, land and take cities
Hey squid, I’m very new to the game but feeling very addicted to it, still so much to learn, any chance I could team up with you and your friends?
I've been playing as the philippines...there's resources floating in the ocean..i asked in game and they said there should be a piece of land that connects to them, but i dont see how...any tips?
I've never seen it, take a screen shot and post in our Discord. You can find the invite in the channel description.
@@TheB2 yeah that's new
How do I upgrade local industry to boost production to 300%?
Do I just build 3 in that province?
Yes
What I don’t understand - resources icons located in the cities where I can’t built local industry. But I can built it in any! other province - and all of them doesn’t show any resource in info of it
@@humblenoble8537 there are special resources in provinces which have a sign next to them
@@FailedAbortion6969 Thx, bro!!!
How do you get so many supplies? I am Turkey and I can only produce 100 components an hour. How could this possibly get me 12 ships by day 20(I am on day 2). Also, what is your favorite early game ground troop combination
4X results with like 12 cities total, during the mid game you have to not lose troops and then start annexing cities.
@@TheB2 how to annex citites?
@@zhypez you just annex it from the build section, it costs a lot
I started this game yesterday, but I think I'm too slow to progress and expand. I choose island nation (Philippines), I need to upgrade first my navy and airforce before conquering any provinces or cities overseas. Do you have any advice?
Phillipines is for advanced players for sure. You will want to balance a mix of naval and ground troops.
@@TheB2 okay thanks for the reply 🙂
another thing, is there a risk if I leave my naval and air force attacking another cities overnight while I'm still waiting for the ground troops and resources? Will it affect the HP and effectivity of the ships and planes?
If you’re attacking a big stack that has anti air, then you might lose some planes; if you’re attacking a stack that has artillery, your boat might take some damage. You can set your strike fighters to patrol so they don’t keep attacking the city after the troops are dead
@@IvanWongHongKong Okay thanks a lot
Do you recommend building local industries in areas where supplies you really need are?
Yes, the key is not to build useless stuff and waste resources. So if you are low fuel, build it. If it's an eleectronics one and you aren't using it...don't waste resources.
Would you recommend building lots of local industry in the beginning for the everlasting cash shortage problem.
You need to conquer land to get more cash.
@@TheB2 Dont arms industry Give more money?
@@planerunner4020 no, they only give the other Ressources, like Fuel, electronics
So I chose Ireland as my first nation. I realized the mistakes I have made during this campaign im on. Im on day 22 right now. Im thinking my ideal strategy, when I choose this nation again, would be to build a naval unit along with Nat. Guard for home defense. What advise would you give?
National Guard is trash, they are just cheap meat shields. Anyone with experience will mow through them
If you’re on an island navy is the most important factor. National guard are only good if you attack someone with everything in the first game week since they’re a cheap defense in case the opponent retaliates
@@TheB2 jeez Meliodas would hate to hear you say that
@@TheB2 while I respect and acknowledge your opinion I disagree. In many of my games national guards have been the only reason I have won, because they are cheap. Especially in a low supplies nation like Romania or Spain you would want to spend the least amount of time and cost on an army, so you can more easily upgrade arms industries and focus on air and/or navy. I'm sure I don't need to explain this to you because you are an experienced player but: National guards basically are slightly cheaper and take less time to build, on top of still having the ability to take territory. In my games I use them like ants and scatter them to pick up provinces while my air/navy and armored units go for the opponents capital. Obviously this works much better in a 4x game than a normal speed. Also you don't have to build army bases which can be expensive at the start of the game. Love ur vids tho
Question: what are those resources icon, is that for something?
umm for resources yeah?
It indicates that the city/province produces that resource
How do you upgrade your regional local industry buildings in the mobile game?
I dont play mobile
Build another L.I. or A.I. to upgrade the building.
Canada is highly disadvantaged due to its isolation and its ridiculously sparse population. Therefore, Canada should be played with Carrier+ Naval Strikers+ Destroyer+ Frigate and some small elite infantry divisions ( Specops+ Marines+ ACV or AFV + MRL ) and UAVs.
They are for sure way out there. I went Infantry only for the start to land grab and gain VP's with the team. Luckily we have a really active coalition so I can get lost in bigger groups and grab some land.
Research requiring supplies and not components makes zero fucking sense
I don't disagree
Can i also get Ressource in occupied provinces?
Some have resources yes
I always lack the Rare resources and Supplies
I am overstocked on Components,Fuel and Electronics....
I always buy the rare first thing to help out.
And annexation of citys? I have Columbia ranking troops and support,
I have standaard 6 citys , i have now 2 more citys .
Is it good move in early game do this?
My coalition Brazil, Bolivia, Mexico, USA and me Colombia
It all depends on what's going on the board. If you take some screen shots in post in discord, we love talking strat.
Can I just say this, why not build recruiting office first cuz that’s 30min then army then factories?
It's different play styles, I don't like to overproduce units and then you run out of mats
@@TheB2 What's the use in having mats other than building units? I always like to use all of my available mats to get as many units as possible and try to snowball. What merit is there to stockpiling?
Alex Cohen army-recruiting office-arms. Best order, the first thing you run out on in the first week is manpower so you can’t produce anything even if you’re loaded on resources. At least in apocalypse cause that’s all I play
phew atleast now i can call them mats
Many Beginner And Casual Players Upgrade A Certain Material And Then Are Short Of Another Material Try To Balance It Out
I noticed the same thing. It's specific by country so you really need to be specific versus just upgrading everything at once.
IF YOU MOVE TROOPS TO A LOCAL INDUSTRY WHERE RESOURCES ARE PRODUCED, DOES THAT REFILL THE OVERALL AMOUNT??!!
No, local industry is just a build and doesn't require troops. It's a resources per hour deal
This video is what I was looking for to understand the resources bc I play call of war but here the production is very very low. Can you please make a video explaining how does missiles work ? sorry I have a bad english.
Your english is fine. I have am missile guide somewhere on the channel already, you just need to search for it.
You don’t put local industrial in the provinces in your country? Huh I may have to se what’s up
I do, but I think this video may have been before that. They are hard to guard though, so you need to make sure they aren't easily obtainable by your enemies.
Dude the only resources I actually feel shortage of in early game are fuel and rare resources and all my other resources are always in stock.
I find that I have too much fuel and lack supplies/comps and rare early game
How does local industry work. I thought it is important.
The more you build, the more resources you make.
Notice how both Japan and Germany both were in the swastika coalition
Always people who think they are funny in the game, they rarely win.
@@TheB2 maybe it’s not because their trying to be funny. Ive done it before and it’s not because I’m trying to be funny but I’m obsessed With my ww2 stuff so I like to play axis and allies sometimes. It just makes it more fun lol
@@TheB2 I love trolling the idiots who think they're funny because they do something in game associated with the Nazis. Chemical weapons and nuclear strikes always seem to shut them up quick.

How do you get this game on pc?
go to chrome and search conflict of nations u can play it on browser
yup, just a little google work goes a long way!

I was also Italy in another zombie game, I was hanging in as the zombies surround my country
bro whar is clash of clane game
I haven't had time to get back into it yet.
Do arms industries have the same effects in occupied cities?
They do but your base production is lower, so the modifiers won't have as huge of an impact. Your best best would be to annex the city to unlock the full production.
I can't even understand how to get money
Capture more provinces and cities
U can sell resources too
But how to improve my army?

can a game be created by a player to make it only against the AI? no other humans? It is a good game, but when your in mid game and some powerful nation sneak attacks you and you love your nation your playing, the temptation to buy gold is high. So the game is designed to be a money maker for whoever created it, and I bet they are making a fortune off it. So congrats to that businessman or woman.
Without those that pay, the game could not be for free for the rest of us. When you get hit by a golder user, just turtle up and defend your homelands. If all is lost, archive it and start a new game.
I'm broke in this game :(
play more
I do but Algeria is invading me and my bois are struggling
I’m broke but like have hella things
sell them on the market
This game is pay to win. No point on playing this
Agree to disagree, we get plenty of games without P2W players in them. Sometimes people just get beat because they are terrible or don't understand the game mechanics and then blame the dirty golders when they just outright got beat.
Yes but actually no
You can take out a golder... especially when they use their gold to get things and then don't use them very well.
