As you and your wife have definitely ‘got ‘ British culture it would be great to watch more of these from the US side.
I used to work for an American company based in Cambridge, Mass. About 12 of us Brits were in Boston for a kick off meeting. We were in a room being being addressed by this American guy with our boss, a woman, standing next to him. He then starting telling us how much spunk she had in her. No one said anything but the atmosphere was electric. He had absolutely no idea and just kept going on with it. 😂😂
Oh there’s no way I could have kept a straight face!
Wow! Sometimes I am surprised at how clueless people can be in other cultures. Makes me wonder what silly blunders I made when I was in England
I’ve watched all your videos and the answer is none.
Chips are fat fries. McDonald's serves fries, KFC serves chips, so does Nandos. However because KFC is American, they use fries in their marketing. KFC use to serve fries until about 4 years ago.
I can see that! Definitely explains why I heard people call McDonalds products fries, but not other fried potato products.
French fries are originally a french thing and are thin and are called fries. We usually make fatter ones and differentiate them by calling them chips. So we have both. Also the brits are not confused in measurements, we can just use both. Its called being adaptable.
Australians also call them both chips. "Hot chips" is often used for the hot variety if clarity is needed.
Good to know!
C to F double and add 30... Fries are skinny chips, big chips are steak chips other chips are just chips. We will queue if we really have to but we will normally go away and come back when it's quieter.
Yeah the only time we really say sir in the uk is kids at school. Great video, also we never use Fahrenheit in the uk pretty spot on. Definitely don't say fanny in public you'll have everyone in fits of laughter!
I use Fahrenheit most of the time, probably because of my age!
last time i got called sir was when i bought an xbox 360 in 2007
Saying "sir" is falling out in the US as well, actually, but in certain regions (South, for instance) it is still heard somewhat frequently.
Yes, agree with you on most of those. The first two women on your TikTok list are brilliant. The very first one is also so funny. As a Brit - I also agree that we don’t hold the monopoly on queueing or standing in line. In fact if you jumped the line in America - you’d be called out on it for sure. I’ve heard of sweet potatoes chips (as in British chips), but not sweet potato fries. Yes, overall - services in America are more customer friendly and focussed. But I’ve also experienced good and bad service in the States as in the UK. Always interesting, as well as funny - viewing your own culture though a visitor’s eyes. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the comments! Glad you found the video to be funny and interesting!
Queuing in the Uk is a humble brag against any country touching Med, not the US where it’s just the same.
I love the longer hair Matthew.
Thanks! It's *finally* starting to get to a length that isn't eternally awkward!
Matthew if you grow your hair and beard longer, you won’t have to have Jesus on your T shirt; we will know! 😀🇬🇧
Chips are made from potatoes. French Fries are made out of maize.
Great video 😄🙌
Thank you! 😁
It's always been drummed into us never let a credit card out of your sight.
That makes sense. In the US we always figure we can freeze a charge v quickly and pretty esily....so not as big a deal.
@@SchaeferFamilyAdventure That still wouldn't prevent someone cloning your card, it might take a while for you to realise how much had been taken from your card. Then all the inconvenience of getting your money back
@@jillhobson6128Oh for sure....but anecdotally, it doesn't happen very often AND when it does, the CC companies are actually pretty good at catching it nowadays.
@@SchaeferFamilyAdventure Prevention is better than cure.
@@jillhobson6128 Yes, i guess that could be another cultural difference that can be used in more ways than just cc fraud
Chips and Fries are not the same, fries (French Fries) are like what you get in maccy d's or burger king etc Chips are Fat and fluffy like what you would get in a fish 'n' chip shop
Great video! I love your reactions to the videos you were watching!
Thank you so much 😁
Nice
Was this filmed in the church? 🤣🤣
Yep!
Where did you get this nonsense from?
Hi
I hate the Scouse accent.
