  • This tutorial does double-duty, showing you how to create a scrap journal (or junk journal) to use up all the extra bits floating around your studio as well as how to do a ribbon binding. I have a second companion video that gives you more details about some techniques for creating the signatures and for embellishing your books once they're bound. You'll find that here: • Scrap Journal Pages
Also, here's the link to the slipcase tutorial that I mention at the end of the video: • Making A Slipcase
I use a lot of rice paper in my books. Here is a link to one beautiful and very affordable assortment: amzn.to/36X3oSR
You can find Washi tapes everywhere these days. Here's one source: amzn.to/2Us7Arg
but check out Etsy as well. This is my favorite etsy source for washi tape and stickers: www.etsy.com/s...
The soft weights come from amazon: amzn.to/2X5DbBn
And you can find a colorful assortment of heavy waxed threads for this binding here:

Very informative and clear. The only thing I would add (but I don't know if it is possible with video) - often when you speak about into which hole the needle should go (as in 11:16 for example), the video seems to have a decent amount of space to the right. Maybe this space can be used to put a hole diagram (as an overlay of sort), so people will have a more convenient references which hole is #3 and don't won't have to flip back to 10:24 to double check.

Thanks, that's a great suggestion! Unfortunately I can't add to the video once it's posted, so I'd have to pull it down, edit it and re-post it, which I'm probably not inclined to do. It's a pretty straight-forward template though, so someone who needed the consistent visual reference could quickly just sketch out a similar example on a piece of paper while they were watching the video or working on their own book. Thanks again, though. There's always something else I wish I'd done after I upload the video. lol. :)

Oh my goodness!!! This is such a great tutorial. I won't try to make a similar journal because it looks like way too much work, and I'm lazy 😄 LoL!
The journal is absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing. x.o

I am so enjoying working through your great instructions and I've successfully completed many projects, but I'm struggling with the clamshell box as the link to part two doesn't seem to be working. Help!

Hi Veronica - I checked the links to part 2 for the clamshell and they seem to be working for me, so I'm not sure what's going on there. Can you tell me where exactly you're accessing the link? (Is it the one at the end of the Part 1 video? The one in the description?)
Anyway, here is a direct link to Part 2 while I try to trouble-shoot that: ruclips.net/video/TLsBiNH3POw/видео.html

Aha! I think I found it! You mean the link on my website. I have fixed that now. You might need to refresh your browser page to get the update. Thanks for the heads-up on that!! :)
