    Wow, this video is pure gold. Mike, thank you for the fuel system explication, simple, to the point, easy to follow, and thorough. Keep these videos coming please. Garrett, heck yeah for being a normal dude who just ponied up and sent it. Way too many videos of special forces red bull pro racing astronauts making it sound like Baja is unobtainable for anyone not in the club. No doubt it’s a monumental accomplishment, but it’s super refreshing to hear you’re experience because it’s more relatable and inspiring. You’re a true badass.

    Never even been on a dirt bike, but have wanted to race in the 1000 ever since I saw Dust to Glory when I was 14. Think it’s time to buy a bike

    Hi Mike . Great discussion and great job Garrett for going for it. I’m now 60 and I’ve done some cool things but not many great things. That would be a great accomplishment. Anyway, on to the point. As far as the KTM etc fuel pumps, which I own a ‘15 500 EXC, why don’t they make a brushless pump motor, then you wouldn’t need the in tank filter. Let me know what you think or if you have any knowledge of one. Thanks

    Why not create a protective shield for the quick disconnect fitting?

    Now.... Going through all these parts of the Fuel system at about an hour 20 or so... kind of interesting but... A lot of people have complained about the KTM fuel system. Wouldn't in theory those parts of the Tank that are too low for the fuel to pickup hold the sediment like brush carbon / water / etc. ?

    Were stock foot pegs used? I would think some massive ones would help reduce fatigue considerably.

    More likely the pros are swapping the wheels because of Sand getting into the Hub Seals / Grease? Hard to know.

    I didn't race it,. It was a tour. My riding buddies brother in law put together 13 guy's however he has raced it 10 years in a row I shouldn't say his name here , but he set us up through Bob Bell shop and American honda ,. We took 7 days and 1550 miles ,. Our longest day was only 264 ml. From Lapaz to Cuzdad,. Legs were rubber,. Now we had been riding for years and we're in great shape , expert class , 600r's at that time 1996 ,. Now it's 2020 I don't ride anymore,. 30+ yrs. In construction, I'm finished, I have 4 fission's in my neck , rods and screws in low back,. 2x rt shoulder , 1x lt. Shoulder,. Lt. Knee all surgerys ,. 3 broke ribs on rt. On that trip,. 1 lt.side racing gocarts ,. In constant pain,. But I had fun and rode hard for most of my life , ride till you can't ride anymore , two yrs. Ago my buddy put me on his 450r. For a short ride it was like I never got off , he was shocked, I still kicked his ass . Hahaha 😁

    Now I know. You know,. How about that. 20 miles of asphalt,. I was so tired. I thought me engine quite running at 70 mph ,. I was falling asleep for a second, my brain shut off ,. Trippy dude ,. ,. Did that ever happen to you ,. Our stores are alike,. I was on a 650r. Tricked out. 9 k inv. Everything

    • @TheLoneRanger745
      @TheLoneRanger745 4 года назад +1

      I traded that trick 600. For a cr500, guy was afraid of it ,. Then got a 650r in 2000 and tricked it out 9k in that bike , just like Johnny's bike

      Great race ingo and tech talk sections on what spares to carry. Mike could do a vlog on where KTM doesn't do recalls and should've. Like the light switch that doesnt allow proper clutch lever placement, etc. $$$s in aftermarket parts needed, to make it reliable for offroad adventures.

      Ned Suesse is the bald guy in the video.
