A ruo must felt so out of place. She testifies against her mistress and turns out everything is a set up. Obviously she is involved. How can she still sit there to mocked? Such a shameless person...
ruyi was the most elegant and sophisticated lady I have ever seen in any royal drama.....I love her so much,
this is the early part of the drama when the emperor is cunning/manipulative and protects his people/harem a.k a ruyi.. he knows whats up inside the harem and plot stuffs to out the evil people.. the later part of the drama is just the emperor being an ass and pretty much abandon ruyi..
this is also one of my favorite eras for Ruyi. Like she said, there is a distance between her and Qianlong because of the three-year imprisonment, so she could act without caring too deeply abt his feelings (which later proved to be her downfall). There is just something so free about her, so rebellious (the dark, simple clothing while others preferred red and embroideries), her attitude toward the queen and arou, her caring for her sisters. She was a dark horse and nobody dared to touch her.
A’ruo should’ve paid more attention. The second Ruyi and Halian was poisoned (well poisoned themselves) and Ruyi Being released from the cold palace. Your credibility was shot! Always expect the backfire to occur and be ready for it.
At the end of the day all those who harm ruyi suffered and died base on the consequences of their actions.
I really wish imperial concubine jia didn't go down like she did and was good. She is so pretty ❤️
And the emperor is really stupid, he knew that a'uro was lying and ruyi was framed but then he promoted her. he should of known what was going to happen in the future
Oh the emperor knows what;s up, he isn't stupid. it's indeed to warn her and remind her of her place. Favor isn't necessarily a good thing, as all concubines will get jealous and give her a hard time, as demonstrated
The emperor knows that Ruyi has been framed, he also knows that A'rou couldn't possibly be the mastermind behind the death of the princes and the framing of Ruyi- she must have had someone higher up guiding her.
He makes A'rou a concubine so he can keep an eye on her whilst he sends people to investigate what really happened. He pretended to favour her (he never actually sleeps with her and each night he calls on her, he makes her kneel at the feet of his bed like a servant) because he knows the people who instructed her to frame Ruyi would want to kill her to silence her. She's the key witness, if she dies before admitting the truth, Ruyi can never be fully cleared of suspicion. The emperor also knows that by pretending to favour A'rou, the rest of the women in the harem will hate her and make things difficult for her.

She do but me I would’ve tapped dance around that in both of their faces. “you something empress the bracelet accidentally fell and all these weird seeds came out. I hope that it doesn’t prevent pregnancies” but the smile Ruyi gave the empress was good enough
