Hey there, I was the guy you met at Berea today. You missed a few CSX but on NS 23K, there was a BNSF ES44 leading and CN ET44 trailing. It met 16G with a toooon of tractors
Really wish SRI would do something about the 1225's off beat exhaust. From my understanding of things, all it needs is an adjustment to its valve timing and its exhaust would be more even and on beat.
@@whistle.productions Sounds more similar to a C&O Kanawha hooter then an N&W one to me. Here's two videos of 2789's whistle on 765 for comparison: ruclips.net/video/MDREiBl-Jd4/видео.html ruclips.net/video/JZHUfFq3Vks/видео.html
@@whistle.productions That's what I thought. I'd guess your perception of far enough away didn't match or exceed his perception of the same. I bet you would have been fine if you'd just placed the camera there for the shot and backed away as it approached. I've seen too many people way too close to the tracks at work and that appeared too close for me as well. I would have said the same. Great camera work and story telling otherwise. Pere Marquette 1225 is on my bucket list of tea kettles to see someday. Luckily you live close enough to see it when you want to.
@@whistle.productions That is pretty odd since every other railroad can, plus, they literally borrowed her likeness for the movie, so why not still call it that?
I’d love to see her but always confused on where and when to go, and how to sort of chase her around on her journey to see her more than once. Any tips?
This is a fairly easy engine to chase to be honest. For your first time, I’d recommend seeing her depart, then chasing it to Cleveland Ave or N Delaney Ave, then to King Road or N Baldwin Rd, then definitely any spot in Bannister, then seeing her arrive in Ashley. I did all and had plenty of time to set up. Hope this helps!
Hello, excellent video !! I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for sharing. Great footage of the steam train 👍👍new sub😀,. Best regards from Germany - Martin 🙋♂️😎🚉🚂🚅
Uncle Verlin and I watched this one on our TV. Amazinvg filming of an anazing locomotive! ❤
Great video and camera work! So nice to see 1225 running again for the holidays, and here's to hoping I can find time to visit Owosso someday :)
Thank you so much! It was amazing to see this beast on the rails again and you should definitely make the trip to see it!
Fantastic video! Love the angles you got as well! Ive been waiting to see a 1225 video this year. I cant wait to see her this year as well.
Thank you Christian! I know that you’ll have as much fun as I did
Museums put christmas theme stuff on their trains. 1225: I AM THE POLAR EXPRESS.
Sure is
That wheelslip at the end was an excellent touch👌🏻
Thank you! I was so thrilled to see that wheelslip!
Well you're coming.
Good stuff, I really hope to see her one year.
Thank you! You definitely need to see her
Me too
It is truly an amazing site to see the 1225 in action I definitely recommend
Spectacular Video Will! 1225 puts on a Fine Show as Always!
Thank you tristan! She sure does an amazing job of putting on a show!
@@whistle.productions Well you're coming.

Good to see her still running.
Wonderful video with the North Pole Express :)

Thank you! Merry Christmas to you as well!
I sure am happy to see my favorite Berkshire running these trains again.
I am as well! Glad you enjoyed the video
The real polar express

Thank you! Have a great time!
@@whistle.productions I’ll try
Didn't know they were going to run this early, awesome!
The only reason I would’ve liked to go later is to get more snow shots. Thank you!
The real polar express I really want to ride it
Cool video
I’m going December 4th. It’ll be my first time seeing her! Amazing shots!
Thank you! You will have an amazing time especially with it being your first time seeing the 1225.

Wish I could’ve stayed! Great seeing you!
The 1225 is back a running now let’s go
That whistle sounds like a modern air horn!
Awesome video!!!
Thank you!!
Hope 1225s 5 chime can be repaired and sound correctly sooner than later
It’s my favorite
Awesome shots!
Thank you very much Eric!

Love the ltex engine on the back
Me too! What a great surprise to see it
That unit was leased to Trinity Railway Express
Did the engineer yell at you?
Yes unfortunately. I was too close to the engine even though it was moving at 5MPH.
@@whistle.productions Welp, do as they say ig
Awesome seeing 1225 Running Again
Also she had a hooter whistle ? Similar to N&w 1218 or like the C&O Berkshire's ?
The hooter whistle was similar to N&W 1218’s

It is a C&O hooter
@@whistle.productionsno I'm pretty sure it's a C&O Hooter.
Her and NKP 765 should be the representative locomotives of Norfolk Southern. Like how 611 and 1218 used to be ya know?
I wish I can see the Pere Marquette 1225 🥲😢😢
At 4:06, did he say "Too Close!"?
Yes he in fact did. In reality I did maintain a good distance from the train as it was going very slow so I’m not sure why he said that.

Hate how they didn’t call the ride “the polar express” instead of north pole express
Well they can’t because of copyright claims

Interesting. It looks like it has ex-ATSF El Capitan High level cars in its consist.
8:43 as a montrealer I can reconnise that sheme on the f40 from a mile away
His back in his 19s livery
Sure is! Looks beyond amazing
11:39 PERE MARQUETTE 1225
Does anyone know what that buzzing sound is at 1:30?
That would be the dynamo
@@whistle.productions Thanks!
Is it me or SRI is using less passenger cars this year? The train looks shorter than usual
I’m not exactly too sure on that
Doug austin YES it's shorter down to 500 from a thousand people per ride. Amtrak took railcars back and is using them.
Plus mask wearing on the train and Covid restrictions. Go to Ashley it is a delight.!
Love it!!
