Yes. My impression of Philinte is that he is a philanthrope and foil to Alceste in a manner evocative of Stoics and Cynics.
Seymour Rudin has an essay on Rousseau’s criticism of the play. I haven’t come across any Stoic readings of it. Sounds interesting.
