One of the best episodes of the series. It's got it all - suspense, action - you name it. Love the ending. Thanks for uploading. I remember in the 1950's when they advertised the little 714 Badge that could be gotten by making a Pure Oil gasoline purchase. My daddy was a stickler for using Standard Oil but he gave in and bought Pure Oil gasoline just so I could have that little gold badge. Thanks Dad. I'm 80 years old but I still miss you.
Yes I still watch Dragnet when it's on early in the morning. Badge 714 is in the introduction. Thanks for watching and posting this comment. Happy trails
My Dad was like that too
Two box tops and 25 cents got me a lot of things. Captain Gallant hat,Captain Video space helmet, Winky Dink screen, Junior G Man outfit etc. I'm 79 and miss him greatly, along with my Mom.
Indubitably ☺️
I got a Quake gun, which shot puffs of flour. I loved it but it made a terrible mess and Mom said it disappeared.
It was breakfast time, we were in the kitchen. Only one thing for sure...we were hungry.
Thanks for the comment 🍳🥚🍳
Episode should have been "The Big Spanish Omelette", don't you think?
Works for me! Thanks for watching...
The reference at the end adds symmetry and a comic touch. Reminds of those little bits at the end of the original Star Trek series.
Indubitably ☺️
Ya, no Dance in it.
That omelet scene was both hilarious and painful to watch. Frank is in no position to criticize Joe's ability to cook. Unpeeled onions, heating the oil in the pan to where it's smoking... and don't Spanish omelets typically contain potatoes? Also he crushed those eggs in a way that there's almost certainly bits of shell in there. Alternately, I could see Frank doing that on purpose and following up with some wacky statement like: "You see, Joe... when you make an omelet, you want some eggshell in there. Helps with the texture!" 😅
That’s funny… I like your sense of humor.🎄🎄🎄
My Father and I loved these shows 💓 RIP Pop😢
Amen
Pop's still watching reruns-!!!🤗.
"Nope, she used her hands. "
"You went to the wrong bakery."
😂
Agreed 👍
I think they're pouring it on a little thick suggesting Friday doesn't know how to cook his own breakfast .
Yep! thanks for watching...
6:34 - loving the antique (even for that time) phone on the kitchen wall, where the handset is just a speaker and the microphone is bolted to the box.
Thank you for the comment. I remember those days well!
Yes, I caught that too.
Love these old shows. Thanks for sharing so much. God Bless.
Thank you so much 😊 please subscribe… Merry Christmas
The idea of leaving some of the brown outer skin of an onion on sounded ridiculous to me and I laughed at the idea. But then I decided to try it. For some strange reason I like it as long as it’s clean and not too thick. I like the texture it adds and perhaps it’s true about the vitamins. Now I add some of the outer skin all the time.
Purple onions are my favorite. thanks for watching.
Turns out the skins provide prebiotic fiber, something for the probiotic bacteria in your gut to eat. You can make tea from onion skins also. You don't have to take my work for it, check it out on the internet.
@@brigitteking969 Thanks for the info. I'm going to try the tea.
I would never have thought to put unpeeled onion in an omelet. I cracked up when he threw an onion half into the pan and said "that'll probably cook down." Just how long was he planning on cooking the omelet, anyway? LOL By the way, if you're making chicken broth, when you add the onion (cut into chunks), leave the skin on -- it gives the broth a nice color.
He is always coming up with some off the wall ideas
50 yr old "old man"😂
Back then, it was true.
The old man who got mugged is Fifty years old!
Yes and thanks for watching! Look out for April Fools tomorrow.
THAT SURE MADE ME FEEL OLD.
It made me feel ancient at 70!!! 😮
"Recent research confirms that the outer skins of onions provide an exceptionally rich source of plant compounds called flavonoids, especially the powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound, quercetin.
Quercetin is under study as an agent for lowering LDL cholesterol and blood pressure, fighting allergies, reducing inflammation, enhancing muscle growth and function, treating depression, some forms of cancer, and other conditions"
Old Farmers Almanac.
That's good to know! Thank you
Frank doesn't know how to make an omelette
Frank needs a to go back to school.... lol
Don't tell him that-!!! Wouldn't want to break his yolk-!!!😳.
Come on Frank, never put tomatoes and onions in the fridge 😢
He's just a flat foot cop. What cha gonna do? Hey thanks for watching. 👍
Europeans often complain that Americans ruin fruits and vegetables and cheese by overfrigerating. Refrigerators were quite small until about this time. People were proud of them so they put everything in there.
That poor omelette
Thank you! Be glad to trade subs with you...
@@meljames52
Yeah I laughed when I heard old man at 50. I have him beat by 20 years and I'm not old!! Lol😂
Thanks for posting these programs they are great 👍
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching...
Magic bullets. Don’t leave a trace.
Not as real as todays tv shows... thanks for the comment.
Jack Webb looks so young in this movie 🍿. 😊😊😊
Yes he does... this is the first season of DragNet.
Jack Webb was born in 1920 and was 31 when the show started in 1951.
His first partner was Barton Yarborough, who played Romero. Sadly, he died in the first season of a heart attack. They incorporated it into the episode "The Big Sorrow". Very sad.
Taking on account the long partnership between Friday and Smith, I am not sure I would be able to handle Smith's helpful food hints and not fly off the handle. 9n a side note, John Wildon (first victim displayed) looks like Howard McNaire, the barber that was on majority of the time on the Andy Griffith Show. He would be roughly ten years younger here.
Thanks for watching!
These shows bring back memories
Yes they do... memories of those long gone, Thanks for watching.
Never knew anyone to keep onions in the refrigerator but sounds like a good breakfast.
Yes, sounds good in an omelet with some bell peppers... Thanks for watching.
I keep onions in the fridge, but not the tomatoes.
Ahhh, cooking before smoke alarms.
Yes and before seat belts... Lol
That would be the worst Spanish omelette in the history of Spanish omelettes. LOL
Yep! thanks for watching.
"Airplane!" reference?
In the late 1967 series they had Harry Morgan (Bill Gannon) with the same personality as a domestic foil to Friday.
So true! Thanks for the comment 🙏😎
When Frank left the skins on the onions, I cringed with pain. Yuck.
You're so right... thanks for watching
I looked it up and the Skins are full of nutrients.
"Recent research confirms that the outer skins of onions provide an exceptionally rich source of plant compounds called flavonoids, especially the powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound, quercetin.

Old Farmers Almanac.
Frank's wife has taught him well, how to shop, but not to cook. I can't imagine, leaving the outside dried parts of the skin. Blech!
Agreed… thanks for watching 🙏😎
I a wonder why they don’t take some food with em . I have seen it often just ready to eat and the drop it on the plate and go . I would at least take a few bites before I run off😎
I agree and a piece of apple pie!
@@meljames52 And the piece of cherry cake, And some strawberry pie,, And 4 or 5 pancakes with heavy syrup,, And a big glass of milk, You know, It's just something to hold me over, Until lunch,,
@@tomcarpenter700 Heavy butter on those cakes...
Jack Webb was a big of the Bambino, Babe Ruth. His badge number 714 was the number of Ruth's total home runs.
That’s a good one. 😎🙏
714 where is that piece of Holy how fortunate that thank you...🎉
Thank you for the comment.... Merry Christmas.
LOVE the kitchen banter ☺
I'm with you on the banter.... thank you and come back soon
I know you, you old rib steaker. You want one of my Spanish omelets! Frank Smith was hilarious.
Indubitably ☺️
That tall guy looks a lot older then 19.😱😱😱😳😳😳
I'm glad you commented... You're invited to return and subscribe. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving
Apparently, Gunther only had one outfit!😂😂😂😂
That’s more than me… lol
Why are they giving sentencing guidelines and not the actual imposed sentence? That's because none of these stories are "true" in the sens of the word "true" as in it really happened.
You’ve got it! It’s been Hollywood’d.
Hmm.. In one of the 1960s episodes Joe tells Bill Gannon how he hates all those things like peppers and onions yet here he has no issue eating a Spanish omelette! Lol
He’s different! Thanks for watching.😎
Fred Gunther carries a gun. 😆
I think you're right... thanks for watching.
Jack Webb is A Savage!!!
Yes, he is....
Please add closed captioning (auto generated) deaf ears matter 🙏🏼
I'll see what I can do about that... I tried the automatic subtitles and it didn't work for me. I've got an idea but will need a little time. If I can get it to work I'll message you. All the best...
@@meljames52 thank you for trying 👍🏼. I have messed with it on the editing page on some of my videos.. with some success…. You tube doesn’t even try . They Could fix it but they obviously don’t care . Thank you again for trying 👍🏼
"Alright folks go back to your seats there's nothing to see here". "Just a shoot out and an injured criminal".
Just think. I grew up thinking that this was normal. Today, if this happened, we would all go running out into the street.
So true!
pro trick: watch movies at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies these days.
@Soren Eddie yea, I've been watching on flixzone for since december myself :)
What’s flixzone ?
Or holding up our stupid-assed cell phones recording the shootout!
Dragnet, der Vorläufer von Stahlnetz (1951-1969)! MfG Wolfgang Karl Wieser Wien
Das ist interessant. Vielen Dank
what did "R & I" stand for within the police dept?
Records and Identifications
Friday answers phone. He says, "Friday here." The person on the other end replies, "That's strange. According to my calender, it's Saturday here!
@@danielbusbey1362 And then, Tuesday Weld started singing "Monday, Monday".
I believe it's RECORDS & IDENTIFICATION.
I recognize one actor at the beginning as one who was also in Dragnet 67, though he was a lot thinner in 1967
Good looking out! Merry Christmas and come back soon...
Webb had a group of actors that he always used. Many of the actors in the 50s shows acted in the 60s and 70s' shows.
Yes, I have noticed several stars would do that... like Don Knots would follow Andy Griffith Show and others as well. Thanks for watching.
Frank runs a kitchen a lot different than me.
Frank needs chef school... Thanks for watching.
I think that Joe would make the better breakfast. Lol
I feel bad for Joe, I'm a bachelor also and my shopping skills are pitiful too. Lol.
You and me both! Merry Christmas and come back soon.
Didn't seem to bother Joe seems like the crybaby they didn't go shopping for himself as the only one that had anything to complain about
Only Americans keep eggs in the fridge.
Next to the beer… lol
Is it my imagination, or do the convicted robbers look a lot older than guys in their late teens or twenties?
Yeah, they get older guys to play teenagers and that still goes on to this day.
I know. I've seen supposedly high school kids inTV shows and movies that looks like they're at least 35!
People lived harder then. They smoked a lot, ate badly, and did not have much air conditioning.
They also tried to look older by the way they dressed and did their hair.
The cult of looking young happened in the 1960s, though it was also common in the 1920s.
1:37, Frank shows Friday some proper hygiene practices.
Good eye! It was a simpler time. Thanks for watching.
But who knows how clean that paper grocery bag was? Probably dirtier than his hand. 😁 (I love this show, by the way).
@@MeowingKittyCat it wasn’t antiseptic, but it was probably cleaner than his hands. Hahahahahaha!!!
Love the shootout scene. Aiming?? Whats that?
You’re right it’s so old fashion lol
What is the age of Jeanne Tatum, the actress who played Lorraine?
I don't know but she played in as the She-Monster in 1957. She's up there in age.
If she is not deceased, she is probably in her mid-90s. She started with radio programs in 1947. It was likely she was born in mid to late 1920s.
Born 1920, died 1993.
It didn't unplug the coffee
You caught that too! 😮
Classic.
I agree.
Frank is kinda a jerk!
Yep! He's different... lol...
Good cop but definitely eccentric.😂😂
It didn’t look good to me. I couldn’t describe what it look like.
I can't either. Have a good weekend.
how rude.. shoot the guy in the back..never say "we're police", and then tell the backup guys to 'go get the gun outside'.and 'stay with him'..never search the guy for weapons..and then check the food...never mind an ambulance.. call the office and chk in..
'
They should of had body cams back in those days too. Thanks for watching!
