In the ocean they do this chomping when approaching humans. It’s their way of saying hello with no intention of biting. Unlike the movies, if you stay calm, you can simply redirect them by pushing on its nose and moving in another direction.

Sharks are one of the most amazing animals, and they happen to be my personal favorite. Sharks have fascinating qualities. For example, some species like the shortfin mako can't stop swimming, or they won't be able to extract oxygen from the water. My personal favorite shark is the great white, but that's just me. Truly, they are one of the coolest animals ever.
