Buy a new liter bike like a zx10r or r1 or cbr1000rr or gsxr1000. Those liter bikes need their sales numbers up to keep the inline 4 engines alive. You will have a bigger blast on those too
Love the concept, cracking engine with the right power, brilliant looks. This would be very cool to turn up and ride to bike night, or a track day. Don’t like the upper fairing brace, I never did on 90s GSXR or ZX6, and hope this is cosmetically removable. But overall, a big win. Goes in my lottery garage.
I had one of the original FZR 600’s in the late 80’s in silver in black, very reminiscent. It looks fab but even though I’m late 50’s, the detailing on the Street Triple I have now is so much nicer than the Japanese bikes. Love that ally fairing stay with the cir-clips though
For me this is the Bike off the year if i could have just one to add to my SV and K6GSXR 1000 it would be this,, I think it is amazing character and performance is real world fun ☘️☘️☘️☘️🌎 from northern Ireland
This will be less of a wherlie machine due to the longer swing arm but will be more stable at higher speeds, also a bit heavier... but the fairing would be very welcome. I have the gen3 MT09 SP but tbh I'd probably go for this over the gen4.
I was looking at the XSR900 last year, but a test ride told me the rear shock needed an upgrade. Have they fixed that on this model? BTW it needs a 3rd party to make a lower fairing, it looks like its been crashed at the moment. Also needs a tail tidy.
Great bike but here in NZ it's 4k more expensive than the standard XSR? The MT09sp is the one with the upgraded suspension & brake and 4k cheaper, I think Yamaha have stuffed up here by being too gready.
The amount of pre orders this bike has in the UK & Europe would suggest Yamaha have it spot on. The New Zealand market is relatively small in the grand scale of things.👍🏻
A stunning looking thing. It's a shame it's mass produced as many others will be in the car park. Ps A proper professional review from a guy that knows his stuff. No comedians or nonsense. Perfect👌
A great video of stating the obvious. Useful if it was targeted at the visually impaired. In summary, it's a retro looking sports bike. Got it. Thanks.
I have to start out by saying that I absolutely LOATHE "retro" bikes like the triumph twins, BSA etc. I lived through that era and 40,50 and 60 years' worth of development should not be ditched just so that a bike can supposedly "Look good". But this is a completely different animal. It may LOOK like a bike from the 80s and 90s but that hasn't resulted in using idiotic technology like twin shocks and large capacity engines which struggle to outperm engines half their size. I think that the only part of the aesthetic that I don't care for is the letter box headlight. which I've always thought look stupid and don't perform well either. And that brings me on to the other problem that I have with the design; no pillion! For someone who has a habitual pillion, not having the option is an absolute deal breaker for me. Sorry Yamaha. So very close, but no sale here, not even a test ride.
@@jamesmccombe1895 Yeah, I only saw that in about the 4th video I'd seen of the bike. What is really quite annoying is that there don't seem to be ANY videos of the bike without the cowling.
At 37 I absolutely love it. I’ve not ridden for a few years but I’m tempted just to have one in the garage.
A nice little detail from that era that everyone has missed is you catch a glimpse of the silver subframe under rear seat. Well done Yamaha
I saw it.
‼️‼️ Fast Bikes ….. my life growing up was a mass of performance Bikes & Fast Bike magazines strewn across my bedroom ‼️‼️
Haha me too! Superbike also
Pre Internet bike porn in magazine form.
Bravo Yamaha, i hope you can sell every one of these appealing machines that you can build.
Yeah... the front brake needs a little more (or a sharper) grip. I love it.
You forgot to mention another Yamaha from the golden era Yamaha tzr ❤
Yes, yes, yes!!!!
And TDR - first bike after passing my test
A bike we have been needing for years.
I ordered mine last year...still looking at you tube...
Gawd Almighty...
This beautiful beastie reminds me a lot of my '85 FZ 750N! 👍👍
Really great review Bruce 👍🏻
Stunning 👌
Yup
Looks awesome i must say
The black one looks like something Robocop would ride.
The first new bike on a long time which is making my wallet twitch.
So much better with the silver frame!
That will be my next track bike if it ever comes to the states.
It also needs an exhaust that goes through or under the tail. 👌
Do yourself a favor and buy a proper track bike like an R6 or R1.

@@dwhxyzmaybe he wants a retro track bike?
I owned an 500 rz it ironed your ball bag going to get fuel for a ride
So sad it's not coming to Canada 😢
Very good review...cheers mate
Bringing back memories of my fzr 600 race replica 30 odd years ago - drank more oil than petrol 🤣
Spot on, I had one too. Silver & black. Loved it & it had self cancelling indicators! In 1986
Reminds me of the TZR 250, and being of a certain age, I prefer theTZR.
I'd like it with a 2 stroke 500cc engine in it
Me too

Fairing stays, are one of my favorite details. I think we'll see a dual-headlamp retro soon too. -hope so
I don't like most new bikes
afterall i'm oldschool old
but i like this one....
in the marketing video you see wayne rainey yet this bike is not coming to the US
I prefer the black one.
It is the one to get.
The colour is "Power Grey"
Oh yeah... Conjures up, Mad Max vibes too. Except it's a Yamaha as opposed to a Kawi.

This bike looks sick! Anyone see Eddie , Wayne and Kenny ?
Gr8 review
750 square four motor would be the ducks nuts (two stroke)
Out of curiosity which triple is better the Triumph Street Triple or this bikes motor?

trx 850ish
great review by the way...well done
5:39 even the regular 2022+ xsr got 6-axis imu right?
What a sexy machine
Too bad is longer, wheeliewise. Good looking though. Great detailed review. Kinda weird how Estoril was handled, it was more a photo shoot than a test
Longer good 👍, wheelies are easy just not as easy.
Front reminds me of Ironman's face.
It's tough to decide this or the MT-09 SP. XSR 900GP is a beautiful machine.

🤩🤩🤩
What's the rear suspension like ? It's not rising rate m8 , 👍
Needs the full fairing and a different rear cowl.
Ashame America didn't get this model
Wow

I think we find that when the upcoming generation of mt09s arrive, there will be a bit prices increase.
Is it coming to USA?

Gosh, who shat in your cornflakes? 😂
shame they did not go for retro headlights. nice bike though
No Pillion seat?
shure, a good one !
Why no California? I would pay cash for one.
Is this 4 cylinder?
Triple
Good job, Yamaha!
Iron Man bike😂😂😂😂
Bring back the R1😡😡
Who’s going to buy the drab black one? Thy not have a Yam Auto blue instead or 60 Anniversary R7 colours?
Price??
He did say £12k
My pants just got a little tighter...
Audio panned to much to the left!
No pov riding review? C'mon. You'd get more views.
Thats how to review a bike, shame about the exhaust and not able to switch of abs
Another 30 hp and it would have been perfect.
tuner makes that bike a monster.
As soon as theres a long side exhaust and some proper mirrors available for it, not the hipster wanky barend crap, ill be buying one👍
Akrapovic makes an exhaust. CRG mirrors. Done.
Yup can't be doing with bar end nonsense. The bracket is there for fairing mount
Rgv500 styled gsxr750 in lucky strike please suzuki and a rothmans honda nsr500 styled cbr600rr please honda thanks.

Pillion seat is under the tail cowl. You can see the foot pegs folded away at the rear of the bike
