The part where Lenin suggests getting some money for the Tsar's crown jewels is actually true! In 1920 delegates from the newly created Irish Republic and the new Russian Soviet Republic were in New York trying to get international recognition for their new countries. The Irish Republican delegation had just had a massively successful bond auction in the States and the Soviets looked to get some of it to help in their civil war against the Whites. They offered the Irish some of the Russian crown jewels as collateral in exchange for a war loan, the Irish agreed and were brought back to Ireland to be kept in a small Dublin house that Bram Stoker was born in - seriously! In 1920 Ireland was still under the occupation of the British so needed to be hidden. Later the Irish Govt kept them in a military base.
Apparently everyone forgot about the loan until 1948 when the two countries agreed to end the contract. The Soviets repaid the $20,000 war loan ($273,003 in today's money) in exchange for getting the Tsar's Jewels back.

Robin Hood is considered a man who would steal from the rich and give to the poor........wrong. He stole from the government to give to the poor. He was against all social injustice and political tyranny regardless of idealogy be it fascist or communist; right wing or left wing. Robin Hood, had he lived in 1930's Russia would have opposed the monstrous economic and political policies of Stalin and try to help the the oppressed suffering under his regime. Stalin would've made Prince John, Robin's archenemy look like a boy scout.
Stalin' nickname during the early years of his life was Koba, a Georgian Robin Hood from Soviet Georgia, Stalin's birthplace. But as we know Stalin was more like Prince John than Robin Hood and his German and Cambodian counterparts Hitler and Pol Pot. And John's cruelty was not just against the poor, but also Jews and feudal barons.

    Some inaccuracies
1:40 - Lenin did not over through the Tsar. While Lenin was exiled in Switzerland for speaking out against the Tsar the Tsar was over thrown and a provisional government was made. The Provisional Government unfortunately didn’t follow up on the whole peace part and they continued WW1 and continued losing to the Germans. This made them unpopular so Lenin was brought to Petrograd by the Germans and he over through the provisional government. After this a civil war followed.
1:47 - Actually, it was quite the opposite. The Russian Crown was considered to be worthless so it wasn’t sold or anything and it was kept in an armory instead, where it still is today.
2:20 - Nicholas II was not sent to some prison. He was sent to house a long with his family in house arrest. It was at first very luxurious but when Lenin came into power their living standards were lowered. Nicholas and his family were later executed by firing squad in 1918.

    For 300 years,
    Mighty Russia was ruled
By a guy called a Tsar,
    Tsar: And everything was cool!
Chorus: But when the rich people started
    Eating all of the food,
    We peasants got upset,
    And we started to brood...
    All we want was
    Peace, land, and bread!
    Lenin: Everybody sing!
    Chorus: Peace, land, and bread!
    Lenin: A little louder now!
    Chorus: We banded together,
    And the people all said--
    Peace, land, and bread!
Toast: Hey, how would you like it if you had to wait in line an hour for
    a potato?
WOW: Yeah! And it's another line for butter and sour cream!
    Chorus: That's when Vladimir Lenin
    Arrived on the scene,
    He said--
    Lenin: Exploiting the poor
    Is really, really mean!
    Chorus: With his buddy Trotsky,
    They started a plotsky,
    To overthrow the Tsar,
Lenin: Who we hate a lotsky!
    Tsar: My career is shotsky!
    Chorus: All we want is
    Peace, land, and bread!
    Lenin: Everybody--ow!
    Chorus: Peace, land, and bread!
    Lenin: A little louder, now!
Froggo: It's hard to make a sandwich using rocks instead.
    Chorus: Peace, land, and bread!
Lenin: Hey, Leon, what do you say we take over government, declare
victory for working class, and begin thirty year Communist regime?
Trotsky: All right! Listen, you mind if I get my potato first?
    Chorus: Lenin's group was called
    The Bolsheviks,
    The country's problems
    They vowed to fix
So the workers and the peasants
    They lead the way
To a Russia where they eat food everyday!
    In 1917 the revolution began
    The Tsar caved in
    And threw up his hands
    As Lenin removed
    The crown from his head
    He said--
Lenin: Boy, this'll buy a lot of peace, land, and bread!
Chorus: Hey! Peace, land, and bread!
    Lenin: Ho, everybody!
    Chorus: Peace, land, and bread!
Lenin: Listen to the peoples now!
M.Info: We're sick of war, it makes everyone dead!
    Chorus: Peace, land, and bread!
Reporter: Vladimir Lenin, what made you decide to finally take over Russia?
Lenin: Well, I decided it was time to quit Stalin! Get it? Stalin!
    [laughs]
    Chorus: Peace, land, and bread!
    Lenin: Oppressed people sing!
    Chorus: Peace, land, and bread!
    Lenin: Just the ladies!
WOW: I just wanna feed my children
    And put them to bed!
    Chorus: Peace, land, and bread!
    Lenin: Deposed rulers sing it!
    Tsar: Peace, land, and bread!
    Lenin: Everybody!
    Chorus: Peace, land, and bread!

The "peace" part of the "peace, land, and bread" demand was not included on an abstract pacifist basis, but was a specific call for an end to the first world war, a pointless war where rival imperialist powers were throwing millions of young men into the meat grinder that was trench warfare. The Bolsheviks obviously understood that peace between the working class and the capitalists (both under the czar and under the short-lived liberal government) was never an option, because the capitalists would inevitably use their states' military and police to crush any initially-peaceful workers' revolution. Lenin discussed the implications in _State and Revolution,_ a series of pamphlets written between the initial February revolution (where the czar was overthrown and the liberal government was installed) and the October revolution led by the Bolsheviks.

For this series, I can say that the creators did not even open the history textbook.
And do not care that Nicholas 2 renounced the throne (in favor of himself and his son) in February, do not care that there was some Provisional Government headed by Kerensky, do not care that there was a real crisis in the country, and the war only aggravated it.
And let's forget about the fact that some kind of civil war followed in Russia (next to which other civil wars did not stand next to them in terms of bloodiness).
And yes, why is it said that only Lenin and Trotsky were such main figures? Where is Zinoviev, Kamenev, or even the same Bukharin?

For everyone saying this is a load of crap. It's not showing what Russia was like under communism, it's showing how the revolution was caused (although it treats it as one instead of two, in between there was dual authority between a Soviet (socialist groups) and a Provisional Government (which was made up of wealthy men who had had high standing under the Tar)) Lenin was able to successfully take over by promising the people of Russa "Peace, Land and Bread", something no other party was doing. All of this is true. It will most likely have come from an episode which I expect would also have covered (at least roughly) what happened after the Bolshevik takeover.
