Because banks are discriminating against people and companies with conservative values.
Esquire what does it even mean? You want bank to loan money to you, so you can buy a gun with interest?

@@fharrison3011 Every business needs a bank account, they are forcing gun manufacturers and gun shops to close their accounts. It is basic political discrimination. It would be no different if they did it to an abortion clinic. They shouldn't be discriminating against any business based on their personal belief system. They have also been targeting individuals.
@@esquire9445 That's one hell of a good argument. HOWEVER, there have been many times where banks and other big corporations have been held accountable by committees like these for loaning money or doing business deals with other businesses who have either directly or indirectly cost the lives of others. Every time another senseless mass shooting occurs, people look at the shooter, then the accessibility of the gun to the shooter... if a bank loans money to gun manufacturers, then that blood is partially on your hands, just as if an extremist group asked for a loan to build a training camp for terrorists. It's a bank's duty to ensure they aren't indirectly funding something that harms humans.

The FDIC insurers deposits of the customers not the bank itself.
I kinda see what your saying. Customers are more willing to bank because of the insurance which means more business for the bank. But most people who bank would bank somewhere anyway so it’s not a company specific benefit rather an industry benefit so other companies can compete and say “we are pro gun” to take away Bank of America customers.
I just think that’s overkill to BofA’s rights to decide who the bank and don’t bank. The other banks can point a spotlight on it and steal customers if they think they can do so. Better free market approach in my opinion. I don’t bank at any of the banks that testified that day. I prefer my local bank(s) and use Amex and Discover for my credit cards.
It’s actually a bit murkier than that though. Some banks only work with businesses and not individuals. Or only individuals with certain incomes etc.

i have a credit card which my payment was due on Sunday the 13th . i had a lot going on and realized later that day that
i needed to pay. i did not know there was a cut off time and also thought that when a payment due on Sunday might
actually not be due until Monday. i got on the phone mobile app thinking i was not late, but it said i was. i called twice on hold more than an hour explained the situation and the phone was disconnected twice. the3rd time they said they could do nothing and spoke aout algorithms.
i told them i was a vet from Vietnam to the Gulf war, and that meant nothing !!! i also told them that i was diagnosed with PTSD, Sleeping disorder, Cognitive disorder,and i had issues with Camp Lejeune Water contamination, and again they did not care.
Well yeah, that's what we expected
