Exciting to see that many hives making honey that fast. Amazing how a year of work comes down to a few weeks of payoff or bust. Also, rotating in those new boxes is making your whole outfit look fresh. Good job all round. 👍
Projects are kind of fun sometimes. Part of what I like best about ya Ian is your a Farmer and a Beekeeper you read the growing season to understand how your bees are reacting to it. Blessed Days Ian...
You said that you need sunshine, the crops on the other hand could do with the occasional rain as they are still in the growing stage, so in reality you rob Peter to pay Paul.
I don't see any wire protection on the battery cables. Might want to put rubber hoses around them for chafing purposes. Nice looking piece of equipment! Thanks Ian!
Yep, Rodney is right.. it's better to do before than later. When I kept buses for the island everything was rubber hose protected. Electric, hydraulic and air, where they touch metal... you can prolong the life of it by a long time with it . I can see that Rodney must be a mechanic of some sort. Forget my intrusion.. I can't resist for a truck like that
@@researcherAmateur I’m a mechanic. I work on trucks and buses. I own 3 old greyhound buses myself. I usually see the aftermath of not protecting wiring and hoses from chafing. Thanks.

It always amazes me how fast it changes up there. Even faster than the weeds and grasses after a rain down here. The foundation looks like the imprint made by the wheels on the wax.. those where we had to cut the sheets long vise, if you ever seen it... that could be adjusted for any size for mass production. Bees always loved that imprint. What's the daylight ? 25h at the moment?
Hello, is this a canola field? Great to see the bloom is two months lather as here in Bavaria(germany) we got here melezitose honey right now. Great work, greetings
Hi Ian, congrats on the success of your hives, and thank you for sharing. I don’t think my bees want to go through the queen excluder. It’s just plastic. What do you suggest? What is the name of the foundation you use? Maybe my bees don’ t seem to like the wax coated plastic foundation.
Ian, curious on fungicide spray. Do you do anything to manage the colonies during this time? I ask as I run my hives on the dairy I work for. Fungicide goes on corn and beans. With the concerns on fungicides in the hive I've been struggling if this is a concern and how to measure/manage. I know they won't likely bee in the corn. But they will be in the beans with fungicide.

Question about queen excluder, is it on top of first box or second box if we are talking about normal colony? thanks
I run singles, so on top of the first
Looking good again Ian. Good job.
Same thing in Idaho. Flow is just starting up. The bees have been eating it as fast as it has been coming in. I have not stopped feeding all spring.
Wow nice truck

I sure hope you are as excited about your wife as you are about your truck.....
Hopefully the adjacent plants fill in the blank spots with extra flowers
Never heard of Can Cell foundation. Is that a Canadien product?
Yes out of Toronto
Are you painting extra wax on the Canacell foundation or are the bees drawing it out well as is?
No need to
Thanks. I just ordered a box.
Bom dia lan aqui no Brasil as floradas silvestre já estão começando a despontar.
just a week ago they were in singles and now there's 3 deeps full of honey what the heck.

Give the bees a frame of brood over the excluder
@@aCanadianBeekeepersBlog
Unfortunately I use med supers and not the deeps. Could it be the excluder size should I try another type ?
@@karenmotkowski8154 run a few weeks without the excluder then move the queen down and put in excluder

I do no preventative measures on fungicides on canola
I love that truck
Ian that can cell is it better then the rite cell? Have you tried the Max wax rite cell with 4 or five additional pounds of wax per box of 100 sheet.
I don’t know other that the bees take to this foundation easy and draw straight
Is your one box per week rule for drawn comb? What is your rule of thumb for a box of foundation?
The rule for foundation is to either spread it out, or expect delays, honey bound nests and swarming
Hopefully you won't need to access the hydolics for many years
