Best camera angles on this one. You go into more details than most of the other videos I’ve seen. This is by far the best repair video on the subject I’ve seen. Thanks for making it. 👍🏻

Many thanks for the video. Was very helpful for replacing the alternator on our 2007 Saturn Outlook, and I really appreciate all the time you took to set up multiple camera angles. I did have to check other videos to see proper belt routing, but yours helped me save ~$1250 in parts and labor over quotes from both the dealer and independent GM mechanic. (FYI new AC Delco alternator on Amazon is

Thanks for the view and the tips! That's a pretty impressive savings!
For me this seemed to be the least likely way to risk any damage to the AC or radiator.

Thank you so much we watched others and they just started that the screwa just came out didnt mention at all that they had to be taken out with a wrench. We found your video and we were able to finish the job in half an hour.

You made it look easy! Buddy and I just replaced one in his wife’s. A total nightmare but we got it done. After installing gauge was reading erratic and further test showed new alternator was bad so we got to do it again… have the new one tested before installing!!! GM should be ashamed of designing and selling a POS like this.

How many of you were curious what an alternator would have to do with cranking?

    • @whodi2012
      @whodi2012 2 года назад

I'm curious I don't think it's my alternator but I wasn't in the vehicle. My wife was driving. I have a crank no start. It turns over attempts to crank but nothing. I've replaced, starter, crank sensor, oil pressure sensor, camshaft sensor purge valve, new throttle body and MAF sensor. I thought maybe cats dirty removed them and cleaned them out. Changed spark plugs and coil pack. Still scratching my head any suggestions? All of those parts were codes I had not got around to changing and some I just needed to change anyway.

      @@whodi2012 My suggestion:
DON'T EVER replace any part without CONFIRMING it's failure! (You can inadvertently CREATE a new problem!)
If an engine CRANKS, lack of starting has NOTHING to do with a WORKING starter.
You've spent hundreds of $$$ unnecessarily
My advice, bring it to a mechanic. (it will cost you less)

Yep. 55mph into a cross running doe. The only thing that didn't break/bend, was the frame rails.

I have a 2010 Acadia the starter alternator and battery have been changed. But now when I go to start it.. it is just clicking now. Prior to this I was driving down the road got up to 60 mph and it made a noise and died down and lost all power. I’m at a loss on what else it could be any way anyone could get back to me on this. Thank you

If this problem is ongoing, I'd recommend going to a garage for assistance. DO NOT go to an auto parts store for advice.

As with MOST cars today.... listening to how a dealership says to take car of a car, WILL destroy it.
CHANGE YOUR OIL WHEN IT IS NO LONGER TRANSLUCENT!
That's pretty much all a car needs... REGULAR FLUID CHANGES.
      These engines ARE NOT FORGIVING.
