As a native of Jamaica, and someone who gives Bob Marley the most supreme respect of all times.I would like to commemorate his life time work and achievements. He has sung songs for the people who can't sing for themselves. He has given voices to the people at the bottom of the food chain. He is an icon, a Jamaican hero, and an introspection to all mankind to give ourselves a moral and ethical thinking about life and humanity..One Love RIP BOB
My uncle loved music like crazy, he had all Jimmy Cliff albums im the mid 70`s, He lived in a two room rented apartment in Accra Newtown. His two daughters and i were attending secondary school in our hometown, we spent the holidays at Accra with him. He and his wife along with their fat castrated cat slept in the bedroom, my mum, his two daughters and i slept in the sitting room. my mum had just moved to Accra and she didn`t have an apartment yet, i used to sleep on a mat on the floor next to his record player, he always stepped cautiously over me to change the records, he would keep on changing and playing till he fell asleep. i could her my mum whispering silently "thank you God finally", I was like "God please wake him up pleeeeaaase". Everytime "no woman no cry" started to play i felt chills all over my body. My girlfriend was back at our hometown and though i was happy to be spending quality time with my mum, i missed her so bad. listening to "No woman no cry" i felt sad and also hopeful, i knew the holidays will be over soon and i will go back to see her. Years later i heard Bob Marley`s version of "no woman no cry", which was on the "Natty dread" album, little did i know then that Bob was actually the writer and composer.
Simplesmente amo Jimmy Cliff e tb Bob Marley sou super fã msm PS: CURTO DE MONTÃO ESSE ESTILO E GOSTO DE SER ASSIM :) Bjo grande e tdo de bom hj e sempre :)
Bobs music i uniqe.. there is nothing like it and there will never be.. he has moved so many people with his music.. and he was only 36 when he died.. imagine if he lived on today.. he would be a living prophet Forever Loving!
Perhaps without Jimmy there'd be no Bob, and great as Bob was I think Jimmy was and is the more soulful. I've always thought that the line 'I remember when we used to sit, in the Government yard at Trenchtown' is one of the greatest lines of poetry in song ever written.

No exactamente.

A lot of people don't know that Jimmy Cliff actually founded Bob Marley and the Wailers
