It was also somehow creative and incredibly lazy at the same time. SPOILERS for example when Jack gets stuck in ice, Cal tells him to figure it out and a few seconds later we see them walking together again - how did Jack get out?
Something that I did like was whenever something not normal happened Jack/Chris Evans actually looked scared. Maybe it's just me, but I haven't really seen a character actually look scared in recent movies for a long time.
The CGI was pretty good, except for a certain beach scene with Dwayne Johnson.
