HDMI output for easier playback on your TV (Netflix, videos, pics, etc). Just my thoughts.
Have been considering both of these phones (and a couple of others) for a few weeks now. Think I'm going to go for the Razr Maxx. Frankly, I'm sick of having to charge my phone every day with moderate use - and worry about the battery giving up when I've got to go away for the weekend and use it as a satnav/web browser/video player. I can live with a slightly worse resolution, slightly slower processor and worse pictures - that battery is just too good to pass up!

Yes. I I had the Maxx since it came out.. Best battery in any smartphone I've used, which is a lot. I have the S3 now though and performance is waaay better. And I still haven't rooted yet :p

I have the razr maxx. I must have gotten a lemon or something b/c I have to charge it every day or it's dead by the morning with very little use. I would use my iphone 3GS all day long, and only need to charge it every 2 days. The razr navigation frequently hangs and apps crash. Upgraded to ICS then did a full reset of the phone, but no change. Camera quality is also poor. I got some really good pics out of my iPhone, but have to take about 10 pics to get one that's decent with the razr.
I had the Droid Razr now I have the S 3. The S3 has a much better, battery life. It can last all day with 4 hours on screen and leaves you with 40% left.. The Razr has a better LTE connectivity . However I did get 33 Mps down and 18 up on the S3.. I got 27 Mps on the Razr and 15 up. The S3 has lost LTE service for 2 days now called verizon for help still waiting. It only happened with Droid Razr when LTE went down. I prefer S3, and hopefully it will soon go global

I have downloaded at 43 mb and have a screen shot to prove it. Depends on ur area. Prefer my razr because of the build. That s looks very vulnerable. The s does offer a beautiful display though. But i hear radio is not to be trusted on the s.

O tried rooting my Xperia s and I ended up bricking it, I had to get it fixed.... Rooting is such an confusing process nuts maybe because I'm not a phone geek lol
Whole the presses folk, the droid RAZR maxx HD is now been improved thanks Motorola, it is now and HD phone with a larger screen of 4.7 same as the s3 and picture quality is great some say they still Don,t like but the review of the RAZR Max and the S3 will likely be a bit different now and lastly as of 12/06/2012 the RAZR Max HD is now running Jellybean, so with the new improvements the S3 is now in catch up mode... also if it dropped maybe you don't replace the screen of the plastic phone!!

Motorola Razr MAXX is good but i love my S3 better. If i want super long battery life lasting way longer then the Maxx I would only have to pay 30 dollars to get a 4200 Mah Custom and Professionally made battery from Amazon. The S3 has a nicer and bigger screen. Nicer Layout and way nicer shape. The S3 is just more gentle and in the time. The Maxx looks a bit bulkish and squarish which is uglier then the round smoothness. Stock Launcher on the S3 looks better as well.

The maxx has a more masculine feel and the S3 has quite a feminine look. Aesthetically and cosmetically speaking, If ur a guy you'd look better with the DRM, whereas if your a girl you'd be better going with the S3.
Bottom line...get the phone you want. Either is a good phone. With the Maxx hitting $99 at Target and other stores it is a STEAL at that price for the 3300mAh battery. I'll take battery life over slight differences in video, photo (especially with availability of photo editing apps). If you need to buy extra batteries just to "be safe" then the investment becomes too high for me.

As far as performance, Galaxy is better performing with a lot more features, removable battery, better screen, usb otg feature. But Droid is more like iPhone with an android sd card support. Galaxy quality is crappy at best. It's just not built right, even though it is full of features.
I thought about sony xperia z, but I realised that motorola is no 1 about batery life... so you think what you want..... 3 days no charge with motorola, or flat batery after 5-8hours of use Galaxy 3, xperia z, or similar phones. However, Xperia ofers water resistant, and shatter resistant abilities. galaxy s3 ofers nothing special ;)

And the difference between these two phones is a lot. The Droid MAXX should be compared with the previous Samsung Galaxy S2, it'd be more fair.

looking at the videos the razr looked to have a MUCH cleaner picture as opposed to the over-saturated colors of the sgs3.
I cant tell if I have the droid RAZR or the RAZR maxx cuz there identical. I did hear that the maxx has a black Motorola symbol apposed to silver

You have to wait for samsung's official extended battery.. The regular one wont let use the nfc therefor the beam features..

Others have already said it, but it bears repeating: Saying "S3" and "Razr Maxx" is enough and would cut the run time of the video in half.
