Freddie didn’t “control” the crowd bro. Freddie “Owned” the crowd like no one ever could!
There will never be anyone like him again ♥️
@@sebastiangrimm4472 I believe Napoleon once accomplished this.
Very true. Kind of goes back to what they wanted Queen to be. "Something for everyone". Honey, he could make you sing along, stomp, clap and dance along for a long as he could get you to! He'd have melted me like butter. lol
He always did that his favorite instrument was the Audience.
@@simontheman4337 No, because Napoleon never had 1.9 billion people watching at the same time.

True.
Freddie was one of the greatest vocalist back in that era. I grew up during that time.

Michael and Freddy were friends. They had tremendous mutual respect. Michael is the one that convinced Freddy to release “another one bites the dust” as a single.
I didn't know that. Cool 😊👍.
Didn't deacon came up with that one

This is true they were supposed to record a song together as well but I believe Freddie had a pet lama that he kept bringing to the studio with him (correct me if I got the wrong animal)

Dude... DO Live Aid, seriously! Honey, that 25 minutes fly on by... you’ll be saying “What? It’s already OVER?”.
Trust me!
Other channels have done it. You don't want to be left out!
Definitely +1 for this, also the Pink Floyd Live 8 performance in full too. Those 2 performances are two of the best in history in my opinion.
You wanna see him control the crowd this one is it
Hah yes! You’d love Live Aid if you love this!
Right
"This n***a sounds just like an angel" = best line of the day.
Anthony V : hahaha, yeah. That cracked me up!
Hey Coach, if you wanna hear “that n**** sound like an Angel”, try the song “You Take My Breath Away”. The live version is from before it was officially recorded for an album, and is just Freddie’s raw voice + piano. The studio version is fleshed out with those trademark Queen harmonies.

Heard that and went, "Well, yes!"
@@imweakfordeaky I agree. It's beautiful, and like you said, the live version is better.
Michael Jackson's favorite song was another Queen song "Another One Bites The Dust" ... which should be reacted to by you .....

I'm a bad, bad person.
Freddie hat an extra 6 octaves to his range. Rare. Tests why his voice was so amazing!!
MargaretAnn Stewart .. not 6 ,only about three people have that ..Axl Rose has just under 6 , three semitones under Mike Patton from faith no more has an amazing 6 octave range and I think Dimash ,Freddie is between 4 and 5 ... still impressive ( he actually makes a comment in this video that he can’t go any lower) what was impressive was how he could hoop up and down the octaves without straining his voice
A legend by the name of Elton John was on after Queen, and passing them on his way to the stage said to them, "You bastards, you've stolen the show."
That was LIve Aid, this is Queen's gig at the same stadium, the following year.
At live aid David Bowie said about Queen’s performance, how the hell am I supposed to follow that?
David Bowie was on directly after Queen. But all Artists felt the same way. No one prepared like Queen.
@@ginamontminy4339 yeah but if anyone can follow up queen, its david Bowie. Hes a legend too. Hell, I bet money queen took some inspiration from him. Very similar type performers. Having fun with the audience, dressing the part hardcore, toying with genres, legends at their finest.
@@lorenzobaxter In fact under pressure was recorded by Queen AND David Bowie. So yes they inspired each other.

Lucas Chantler they have their good days but it’s very evident they have their bad days too😂
Auto Tune: Auto Tune who?
Freddy:* YA MAMS!!
Cringe
Freddie's call and response was so legendary we literally ended the opening ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012 by projecting him into the stadium to do that same performance 20 years after he died. And the crowd still followed him from beyond the grave
Just check out the Greenday gig at Hyde Park. Proves your point - even 6 foot under he controls a stage. It's godly.
Definition of "The Show Must Go On"
Bruh, Live Aid 1985 is considered one of if not the greatest rock moments in history. We all will watch your full long reaction! Let’s get it!
True. Even if it's three hours long, we'd still watch it 😂
Please do Queen at Live Aid '85. It will blow your mind.
Jesse, You are correct. Over 70 artists worldwide, he stole the show. Best of the best. I'm over 60 and have gone to hundreds of concerts, if I had a chance to go back and be at one concert it would be Queen Live Aid 1985.
I still think Metallica in Moscow '91 Is better 👀
Dawn Forbes, I’m 32 and I would go back in time for that show alone myself. I love how Freddie stole a crowd that wasn’t even his. What a showman! I think we all wish he was still rocking the world right now. Queen is good but they aren’t the same without Mr. Fahrenheit! RIP Mr. Mercury, you are and always will be the rock GOAT!
You wanna see crowd control? For gods sake do Queen live aid. You don’t know what you’re missing. Please please please
Ive been waiting for that! and Queen- Somebody to Love live in Montreal... completely speechless after watching that
Literally the best live concert of all time, it’s a disservice to yourself if you don’t watch it
That is a lesson, on how you get the 170,000 people in front of you, and the millions at home,
To do Exactly what you want....
^THIS
#NoLifeShaq You really should make an exception for Queen @ live Aid, let that be your one "40 minute" reaction.
Why? because its THE performance of the decade, and to Queen fans, its the best performance of all time, any band, any style, anywhere.
A quick "guide", its the biggest benefit concert ever, world wide that day, and Queen is playing for 72.000 people in London (many of them, NOT his target audience, note this, its very important), and an additional estimated 1.9 BILLION !! people across 150 nations, during a Global live television and radio broadcast.
Trust me, that 25 minutes, are a big... really big deal and you CANNOT ignore it.
And it was broadcast worldwide live, the first time that technology had been used for anything of that nature, and never before or after for such a monumental event. They really didn't know if the tech would work all day or if it would have a lot of transmission issues. Then, you had Phil Collins play in London, and take the Concorde to the US and play here on the same day. Every band that played was fantastic, but a lot of the major acts were last minute things, and a few big solo acts didn't have time to get their bands there. David Bowie got there last minute, and couldn't get his whole band there. He went over to Thomas Dolby and grabbed him and got him in the helicopter and took him with him to play synths. Bowie went over the Chord progressions in the helo with Dolby, and they got in about 15 minutes of practice before they went on stage. These guys were tremendous talents.
@@wolf762x51 yeah it was, what you could call, a magical day. Top acts, top talents, reunions we'd never thought to ever see happen (Led Zeppelin for instance). The organisation set themselves an impossible task, and somehow, they pulled it of. And it became a benefit concert that will forever be part of recorded history, and will forever live on, in the minds of those who saw it that day.
I wouldn't call it the performance of the decade. That is selling it way to short. It is THE performance. That 25 minutes... I wish I could have experienced it live. At the time, they were playing live for 1 in 3 people on the entire planet. At one time.
@@mycroft16 I did split it up as us Queen fans will automatically rank that performance as the best ever, but for others, i can imagine they feel others deserve that "best of all time" label. But i do think they too, will have a very hard time finding anything better from that decade hehehe

ElyC FUCK you
Researchers did a study on Freddie Mercury’s voice. His vibrato was faster than anyone else they tested. He also used not just his vocal chords but the ventricular folds in his throat to sing subharmonics. That’s how he was able to create a unique vocal print that sounds angelic to us and allowed him to sing 4 octaves. By 1979 he’d developed painful vocal nodes from singing rock since he was 12 years old. So for his last 12 years it hurt to sing but it didn’t stop him. He was the legend of rockstardom.
Watching non rock fans react to Freddie Mercury is absolutely amazing lol

Freddie & MJ admired each other. MJ got the whole "one glove" thing from Freddie (who was doing it way back in the early 70's) and it was Michael who advised Queen to release "Another One Bites the Dust" as a single (& it turned out to be one of their biggest hits).
They recorded together but very briefly. MJ wanted his llama in the studio & Freddie found it hard to work like that (I kid you not).
I've only been watching your reactions for a short while (& enjoying them) but now that you're doing some Queen I'll be sticking around for sure.💙

True story about the Llama and Micheal Jackson. They were collaborating on something but Freddie was put off by MJ wanting a llama in the studio. He said MJ was too weird and got out of it. Told MJ he’d get back to him but he never did. 👍
The interview I seen of freddie said that his schedule for too hectic to finish it. They were also supposed to do state of shock together but couldn't find the time. Mj brought up Jagger and freddie told him to go ahead.

11:11 Roger, as always, backing his best friend up. Roger’s vocals are always sooooo underrated.
Exactly! And he is an amazing singer, he barely missed a note as far as I've seen, and I've seen many lives. He is always on point and sings his parts exactly how it should be, helps Freddie when he's in need - cuz Freddie always gave 120% live and his voice could not really take it sometimes, like in this performance, when there was longer vocal back up from Roger, Freddie made it a little lighter, didn't push himself that much, because he could always count on Rog. His back up vocals in Somebody to Love are GREAT. And there were times when he was picking up over Fred when the man was too exhausted to sing anymore. Queen was one heart and one soul. It still is, just one soul slightly away. But the heart of the band lives on.
he's Falsetto's too it's "Tough".
I've seen Queen in concert, when he sang the hair on your arm raised. It was magical. The crowds were large because no cell phones, no internet, just radio, vinyl and bad TV. You lived for a live concert it was an experience you never forgot. With MP3 and streaming music and computers controlling vocals live music is fading away. Big loss. Freddie was a magician, a master on the stage and a very nice man. Your reaction was awesome and it paid homage to an artist. Thank you
Yeah Freddie and Michael met. They almost recorded a song together too but MJ kept bringing his Llama into the studio and Freddie was high as fuck and got freaked out by it...
