Walking the world heritage city of Melaka, I found an old shophouse, just nearby the river, not far from Jonker street. Inside is a sweet lady and a wall full of alcohol bottles.
I decided to sit down and learn about the local Malaysia alcohol, and the bar.
Sin Hiap Hin, has been open for over 100 years, family run for four generations. The shopkeeper and bartender, Doris, a grandmother, serves up the alcohol from 9am to 6pm. You can buy half shots, full shots, or the whole bottle.
The prices are reasonable.

Making some of my music some songs can take 8 to 18 tracks which can take 1 day to 7 days of work depending on the song & + writing the lyrics the editing to make a video Depending on the video can take 2 hours up to 5 hours maybe more if it's a crazy video how much patient & work we put into it. So ya in the end yeah it accumulates into a lot of time.
She’s got to be the oldest mixologist in Malacca. This place is definitely on my bucket list. Cheers to you Doris 🍻🍻

glad u found one of my favourite melaka spots. the bar is a century old and used to be open at 5am in the old days. I actually recently visited the distiller who makes the malacca rice wine.
So fantastic you visited the Malacca alcohol company.

Hollywood could not script nor depict the unique nature and pleasure to be found in alley way bars run by old Chinese owners. Only those who have been to these places know. You can see the appeal for an American, almost all historical local places like this are long gone in the US, except maybe in very rural areas. It's like, this is just people taking care of things, passing down things they love. Our culture is so based on growth and profit now, and big chains and all.

@@JasonRuppVlog i am not sure what is your age but I am born in 60s and these kind of Kedai Samsu was everywhere, they served cheap alcohol to the lower income group and in my childhood our parents forbid us to go near these kind of establishments so much so in our mind it become a mental block, Only now when theres none left someone find their unique history and interest in it, a different generation a different way to look at it, I know this shop and heard lots about it but no chance to visit yet, some day if I visit melaka will go hang a bit.

Jason, good video mate, you can tell she knows what shes know what shes doing when she swapped glasses for you without asking, that was the first time, then at 9:40 when you were calling her beautiful, she said "already" meaning you're alreadly getting drunk, nothing wrong with that, and she kept offering you water because as you go between drinks you're actually meant to rinse your mouth with water so your taste buds are clean and clear with no aftertaste from the previous drink, the glasses you were drinking out of were TOP quality, good stuff, go Doris, now on to the next bar!.
